PERSEVERING THROUGH THE

AGES

Seeds of the Dream

Now listen to my rhyming tale

About Haniel, a tiny young male,

He was really influenced by his dad

And wanted to drum like his old man had

I Love the Drums

He thought fate had dealt him a good hand

When he signed up for Sixth grade band

He thought he would be able to play the snare

But when he stepped up, there were no more there

Got Stuck with the Trombone

He wouldn't like what he would getA choice between a trombone and a trumpet

He chose the trombone because of the nameBut soon he found out, his choice was lame

Reverse spit-takeBut he didn't give up, he chose to persevere

And stuck with it through his Eighth grade year

One day, he had an accident involving spit

And then he decided he had to quit

Walked away at the end

During those times he had a little fun

Now he says he's glad he is done

The point is that he kept on going

That right there was his perseverance showing

I got another tale, hope it's okay.

It's about a Asian boy, his name's JJ.

He went to Miami to hang with his brother

He went by himself, without his father or mother

After getting a snack at the food court

He soon got lost inside the airport

They got some breakfast, mostly juice and toast

Then they drove all the way down to the coast

They paid the money for their session

And went ahead with their snorkel lesson

He thought the ride there would be real quick

But it wasn't, and he ended up getting sea sick

He couldn't handle the swaying motion

So he didn't spend a lot of time in the ocean

But the one object he wanted to view,

A giant underwater Jesus statue,

He didn't get to see because his stomach was weak

This is not a good perseverance example to seek

Here's the last

story of the day

About a little boy

name DeAndre

He wanted to swim

when he was four

Cause his normal

pool life was a

bore

So he went to Pearl

High School

His swimming lesson

was in their pool

When his mom said that “We're here”

Then he was filled with fear.

He was a little anxious and almost

hid

But that feeling passed when he saw

another kid

He wouldn't stop, he perseveres

And his swimming career lasted 13 years

He eventually learned how to swim

However it barely kept him slim

He remembers everyone that he met

And it was a decision he would not regret

His happiness during this time was ample

This is a great perseverance example

Perseverance

With Haniel he stuck with it even if it was tough.JJ persevered on the boat for something better

down the line.DeAndre persevered for success.

Experiences lead to perseverance to enter college.A presentation in English in college.
