Team Leader & Combat-Emergency Care Medic Provide medical attention, personal assistance, and emotional support to patients wounded in

combat. Administer emergency medical treatment, limited primary care, force health protection, and

evacuation while working in a variety of operational and clinical settings. Deal with points of injury or illness through the continuum of military health care.

Operates as a field combat medic who provides emergency medical care and treatment at point of wounding on the battlefield or to battle and non-battle casualties during wartime.

Assists with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment. Interviews patients, recording their medical histories; take patients’ temperature, pulse and blood pressure; documenting and recording the information.

Perform emergency diagnostic and treatment procedures including immobilization, stomach suction, airway management, heart monitoring, and medication administration. Operate EKGs, external defibrillators, and bag-valve resuscitators in advanced life support situations. Monitors records, and report patient symptoms, vitals, and responses to courses of treatment.

Operates ambulance and provide oversight of vehicles, medical equipment, and communication equipment maintenance.

Successfully incorporates risk management into all troop operations resulting in zero non-battle injuries.

Coach and mentors three junior medics directly improving combat effectiveness for more than 120 personnel.

Develop and implement medical courses for 5 Afghan National Medics which enhances their self-sufficiency.

Leads numerous combat lifesaver courses with a 95% pass rate. Establish and maintains custody of outpatient medical records according to regulatory
