DCS: A10C WARTHOG STARTUP GUIDE First, set the battery switch on the electrical panel of the right side console to PWR (PWR). This will provide power to the DC buses and the APU. Now set the inverter switch on the same panel to STBY (stand by). This will allow power to be supplied to numerous aircraft instruments and to the engine igniters.

PresstheOXYINDTEST(OxygenIndicatorTest)buttontotesttheoxygenremainingindicator.WatchfortheOXYLOWcautionlightontheCautionLightsPaneltoturnonwhentheindicationfallsbelow0.5liters.

PowertheradioontheleftsideconsoletocommunicatewithATCandmissionassets.SettheVHF/AMFrequencyModedialtoTR(Transceiver).

StarttheleftenginebymovingtheleftthrottlefromOFFtoIDLEorpressRIGHTALT+HOME.Thiswillstartfuelflow,andusebleedairfromtheAPUtoturnthefansandignitethefuelinthecombustionchamber.Whiletheenginespoolsup,scantheEngineMonitoringInstrumentspaneltowatchtheEngineInterstageTurbineTemperature(ITT),EngineCoreSpeed,FanSpeed,andFuelFlowgauges.WatchforthecorefanRPMtostabilearound60%whileidlingontheground.Thelefthydraulicpressureshouldnormalizebetween28003350PSI.RepeattheaboveprocesswiththerightenginebymovingtherightthrottlefromOFFtoIDLEorpressRIGHTCTRL+HOME.Oncetheenginesareidlingnormally,checkyourflightcontrolsrudderinput,speedbrakes,andflaps.NowturnoftheAPUgeneratorontheElectricalpanel,andTurnofftheAPUontheThrottlepanel.Ontherightsidepanel,poweruptheControlDisplayUnit(CDU)andEmbedded
