Two great Mughal monarchs, Akbar and Shah Jahan, had transformed the little village of

Agra into a befitting second capital of the Mughal Empire.

In Agra, you will be caught up in a world of contrasting edifices, of red sandstone and

white marble, narrow galleys and quaint buggies, as well as the city’s irresistible charm.

Unsurprisingly, modern Agra has held onto its Mughal heritage so that the modern city is

blended with old and beautiful monuments.

Morning, visit the Itmad-Ud-Daulah’s tomb, a beautiful mausoleum built by the

Mughal Emperor Jehangir’s queen in 1628 as a memorial to her father. Many historians

revere the mausoleum as the inspiration of the Taj Mahal, yet it still has an original

beauty. It houses significant ‘Pietra Dura’ inlays, marble screens within a walled garden,

and a view of the Yamuna River.

Mid morning, your discovery of historic Agra will begin with a visit to the red sandstone

Agra Fort, built by the Mughal dynasty's greatest Emperor, Akbar, in 1565. A number

of the fort’s beautiful palaces, mosques and gardens were built by his successors in later

years.

A few of the priceless examples of artisanship from the Mughal era include the exquisite

Moti Masjid or Pearl Mosque, the Diwan-i-Khas, the Diwan-i-Am, the Jahangir Mahal and

the Shish Mahal.

Afternoon - Visit Dayal Bagh is a pilgrimage site in Agra, which is popular for the

memorial of Shiv Dayal Sahib, the founder of the Radha Soami Satsang Movement. He

started this religious organization in 1861, which combines the elements from Hinduism,

Christianity, Sikhism and Buddhism.

The memorial in Dayal Bagh has been built to worship Shiv Dayal Sahib, who was

popularly known as Soami Maharaj by his disciples. The 110 feet high memorial is a

combination of temple, gurudwara, vihara and mosque.

The memorial is made of pure white marble and features numerous pillars and fine

pietra dura inlay work on the inner walls. This building has been continuously under

construction for the past 100 years.

magnificent Taj Mahal,

a pristine white marble

mausoleum built by

Emperor Shah Jahan in

memory of his wife –

Mumtaz Mahal. One of

It is said that children’s place and their educational centers should look like a garden of learning. We are working to make these centers attractive to create colorful stories, pictures and different other educational paintings. These activities are appreciated widely in the society.

a) Renovat ion and painting the walls

b) Drawing and writing the educational Pictures,

maps, shapes etc.

c) Invite the children and their parent to receive

the feedback

2. Fun fair for Children: Little citizen of our

society, the children are not given much chance

to have fun activities especially in the villages.

Fun Fair for children will give smile on their

faces. The funfair projects for children would be

an idea activity for a cultural experience. This

will help in strengthening the community feeling

amongst community members and will bring

attention to the needs of children in the form of

creative fun activities amongst all other

members of the community. It is an ideal way

for volunteers to create a high impact on the lives of the children that they

interact with.

3. Creative art workshops with Children: Indian schools and societies are not giving children the space to develop their creativity. It is a common feeling that school is meant for education not for any other activities and making passive and monotonous teaching a norm. Volunteer groups can do a number of creative exercises like drawing, painting, music and dance. These activities are a very important way of enhancing the mind and body coordination amongst children and creating their interest in the school as a center of education. This activity can make a long lasting impact on continuing education and reducing dropout rate amongst schools in rural areas.

a. Drawing and painting. b. Music workshops c. Dance workshops d. Toy making and clay modeling
