To add and subtract fractions you only need to add the numerator.
The denominator stays the same.
If the denominators are different, you need to first make sure they are the same by finding a common multiple (just like when we ordered fractions
on Tuesday and Wednesday).

3 and 4 are both factors of 12 – we can therefore make the denominator 12 by multiplying the fractions.
Once you have the same denominators – you can add the numerators as usual!
