My Challenge -Day 28

Today’s topic is about the difference between success and fulfillment.

We often get so fixated on the end result; being successful, or financially independent. We get so focused that we lose sight of what we’re really trying to accomplish.

Sometimes we even give up too much to accomplish the goal. You hear stories about people who make a lot of money, but still aren’t happy. They sacrifice a lot of time and fulfillment to do it, which leads them to be unhappy.

I’ve struggled with this too. I was always looking for ways to become more financially independent, and develop a huge organization. I kept forgetting what was really important; the sense of fulfillment. I had to focus on the outward side of things, not the inward.

I went through this process of constantly working on my business and things to improve my productivity. I was neglecting bigger areas of my life when I should have been focusing on fulfillment through working and engaging with my family.

It even got to the point where I was just ignoring them and had tunnel vision. All I focused on was success. I ignored the fact that they were important to me. I felt like an empty shell. Nothing was really meaningful to me.

I challenge you to think about that. Are you going after success, but ignoring what’s really important? Are you going after significances, or things that don’t matter at the end of the day?

Think about that. I look forward to seeing you in my next post.
