• With HOW LONG How long have you been in England?. I’ve been in England for 3 weeks. For + period (3 days, 2 months) since + starting point. (since last week, since Monday). AGO (only used in past)

Grammar: Present perfect and past simple

• The PRESENT PERFECT gives you an idea of what happened but it does not give any details

• “Have you ever broken your leg?”” Yes, I have”

• The PAST SIMPLE gives the details.• “ Oh, really?” “When was it? How did it

happen?”• “It hapened long time ago. I fell off my bike

A HEADACHE, A STOMACH ACHE, A COLD, FLU, A TEMPERATURE, A PAIN (IN HIS BACK…), DIARRHOEA

ACHE, HURT, INJURY

• ACHE is a verb describing a pain which continues for a long time but it’s not serious

My feet ache. My back was aching…• HURT is common as a verb, used to describe a

pain which is stronger

My throat hurts when I speak. Where does it hurt?• INJURY is a noun and it’s a result of a fight, an

accident or a violent act.

He was injured in the accident.
