DETAILS OF TERMINAL ARE AS FOLLOWS:

ABBOTABAD

Abbottabad 116 km (72 miles) from Rawalpindi and 217 km (135 miles) from Peshawar, is a small town in a spacious valley surrounded by green hills. It is also a popular summer resort 1255 meters (4120 feet) above sea-level. It lies on the newly constructed Karakoram Highway. It is a popular health resort c.4,000 ft (1,220 m) above sea level in the Himalaya region. Founded by Sir James Abbott, a deputy commissioner of British India, it was an important British military post. Daewoo started its services from Abbotabad in June 2003.

BAHAWALPUR

Bahawalpur is 899 km from Karachi. The city is also known as Baghdad-ul-Jadid. The founder of the state of Bahawalpur was Nawab Bahawal Khan Abbasi. It is an important marketing centre for the surrounding areas and is located on the cross roads between Peshawar, Lahore, Quetta and Karachi. There are three palaces, the main one Noor Mehal. Bahawalpur is also known for its distinctly embroiderd slippers and shoes and the filigree pottery which is made here. It has a marble mosque in the Fawara Chowk and a few British buildings like the Science College. Bahawalpur has a modest museum having a fine collection of coins, medals, postage stamps of former State of Bahawalpur, manuscripts, documents, inscriptions, wood carvings, camel

skin paintings, historical models and stone carving etc. of Islamic and pre-Islamic period.Bahawalpur terminal started its services on 21st May 2004.

FAISALABAD

Faisalbad, formerly known as Lyallpur, is bounded on the North and West by Hafizabad, Jhang and Toba Tek Singh districts respectively. In the East it touches Sheikhupura district and in the South it is bounded by the river Ravi, across which lies Okara district. It is an important transportation and commercial center, especially for grains, cloth, and ghee (clarified butter). Manufactures include textiles, pharmaceuticals, chemical fertilizer, bicycles, textile machinery, hosiery, flour, sugar, vegetable oil, and soap. The city was founded by Sir James Lyall c.1895 and named in his honor. Faisalabad terminal was started on 20th February 2002.

LAHORE

There is an ancient Punjabi adage, "One who hasn't seen Lahore, hasn't been born!" Lahore is a Municipal city and it has been the capital of Punjab for nearly a thousand years, and the administrative head-quarters of a Division and District of the same name. Lahore has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. It is a fine place to watch the world rush by. Lahore is a classical city, according to the words of Empress Noor Jahan. "I have purchased Lahore with my life, by giving my life for Lahore, Actually I have purchased another Paradise." Daewoo Express Bus Service Ltd. Started its operation from Lahore on 26th April 1998. Initially the service was only available for Rawalpindi. So, Lahore has a distinct position in entire scope of the Company.

MULTAN

Multan is located in the southern part of the country. Multan, a big and historical city, is famous for many shrines and holy places of great Ulemas, sufis and saints. It is well developed city and government is connecting this city to Fasilabad and Islamabad via motorway to increase trade between the major cities. It is an important road and rail junction, an agricultural center, and a market for textiles, leather goods, and other products. The city's industries include metalworking, flour, sugar, and oil milling, and the manufacture of textiles, fertilizer, soap, and glass. Multan is also known for its handicrafts, especially pottery and enamel work. Multan terminal was started on September 1, 2000.

MURREE

Murree is known as the "Queen of the hills" (Malika-e-kohsar). At 2,100 meters above sea level (circa 7,000 feet), Murree is only an hour's drive (some 54 km) northeast of Islamabad. It's cold pine forests, amidst magnificent mountain scenery, makes it the first choice for a day's outing from the capital. The Galis are a string of hill resorts along the ridge between Murree and Abbottabad, situated on the Karakoram Highway. Hiking is the favourite passtime beacuse the valley offers a variety of walks. It was founded as a hill station by the British in 1851. Until 1876, Murree was the summer headquarters of the government of Punjab but was subsequently transferred to Simla.

PESHAWAR

Peshawar is the capital of the North-West Frontier Province, Pakistan. A road and rail center near the famed Khyber Pass, Peshawar is an important military and communications center and the major depot for trade with Afghanistan. Peshawar is one of the most colorful Pakistani cities. It’s on the Afghan border; give it a real border town flavor. Industries include food processing, and the manufacture of steel, cigarettes, firearms, textiles, pharmaceuticals, furniture, and paper and board. Peshawar Terminal was started on 25th November 2002.

RAWALPINDI

275 km (171 miles) to the north-west of Lahore is Rawalpindi. It occupies the site of an old village inhabited by the Rawals, a tribe of Yogis. It is fast developing into a large modern city. It has many play grounds, a pleasant club, an Army Museum, a number of good hotels and restaurants and a huge Ayub Park, Rawalpindi is the last halting post leading to the numerous holiday spots and hill resorts of the north, such as Murree, Nathiagali, Ayubia, Abbottabad, Swat, Kaghan, Gilgit, Hunza, Skardu and Chitral. Daewoo started its Bus Service for Rawalpindi on 26th April 1998. It is one of the initial terminals of the Company.

SARGODHA

Sargodha, known for Pakistan Air Force base, is situated on the lower Jhelum Canal. It is a center for trade in cotton and other agricultural commodities. Sargodha has manufactures in hosiery, textiles, chemicals, and soap. Sargodha has very rich agricultural land and a division headquarter.it includes khushab, mianwali, bhakar, and sargodha itself. Daewoo Express Bus Service started its operation in Sargodha in October 1999.

SIALKOT

Sialkot is said to have been founded by Raja Sala and refounded by Raja Salivahan in the time of Vikramaditya. The city, the district headquarters, lies just north of the Aik Nala (Aik Stream) and south of the Jammu Hills. It was once famous as a centre for the manufacture of damascened ware and paper; its modern industries include flour and cotton mills and the production of Surgical Instruments, Leather goods, Embroidery, Ready-made garments, Musical Instruments and sporting goods. Almost every product is exported to the world. Sialkot was the birthplace of the famous poet-philosopher Dr. Alama Muhammad Iqbal, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, and Asghar Sodai and houses several shrines, including that of the first Sikh guru, Nanak.

SWAT

Swat, generally known as the Switzerland of Asia, is one of the most beautiful valleys in the World. Its beauty attracts tourists from all over the world to enjoy the soothing and serene sceneries, and the friendly behavior of its inhabitants. A visitor entered in Pakistan would never be contented without roaming about Swat. In the valley of Swat, civilizations are begotten. Different religions had flourished here. This historical land has seen the rise and decline of various religions. The beauty,

attraction and grace of the valley of Swat is well known throughout the world. This area is witness to the generosity of nature. its fragrance, enchanting sights, moderate climate, pleasant environment, snow covered high peaks, tumultuous Swat River, singing water falls, crystal clear rills and springs and the beautiful valley of lilies attract everyone to itself. Service for Swat was started on 13th May 2005.

For the very first time, Daewoo has introduced computerized booking and ticketing system in Road Transport of Pakistan. Key features of our booking / ticketing system includes:

SAFETY AND SECURITY

Daewoo assures its passengers a safe & secure journey. For this purpose a separate Security Department is working with highly professional staff. Almost all staff members are Ex-Army officials. The best way to ensure the most reliable security is to put the best possible candidate for the job in the position. That's why the Security Department uses an extensive screening process when hiring and continues with intensive candidate evaluation for specific jobs.

The Security Department is committed to deliver quality security services to our passengers through defined procedures and measures. We have formalized and automated systems that enable us for effective and efficient results.

Some of the security & safety measures followed are:

Life insurance of each passenger. A team of skilled guards at all terminals. Deputation of alert armed guard in the bus. Security checking of passengers at boarding time. Lost & Found department for the security of luggage. Movie capturing of all passengers before the departure

Before boarding, carry-on baggage of each passenger is checked.

CARGO FACILITY

Apart from traveling services, another important aspect of our service is ‘Goods Cargo Service'. Cargo service is available at all Daewoo terminals & sub terminals and it can be utilized to dispatch goods on any of the terminal of Daewoo network. Daewoo's Cargo service is very safe, secure, rapid and economical. Some key features of this service which make it distinctive are:

24 hours availability. A safe & speedy service. Packaging facility available. Flexible rates according to the size/quantity. Almost all goods are delivered to the destination on same day. Rapid Cargo Facility is available on all direct and indirect routes. Economical tariff as compared to all other cargo and courier services.

Service can be used for goods like Courier Mail, Documents, Eatables, Electronics and Electric appliances etc.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR LUGGAGE

1. The consignor is requested to carefully read the terms and conditions for cargo service displayed at the cargo office for guidance.

2. The sender is required to: - 1. Clearly declare the goods being handed over to the company for cargo and

get it indicated in the cargo booking slip. 2. Provide complete information about the consignee's name, address and

PTCL phone number. 3. Properly pack the goods as company shall not be responsible for any

damage caused due to inadequate packing. 3. The sender is responsible for: -

1. The correctness of the particulars and statements relating to the cargo, which he / she inserts in the consignment note.

2. Providing documents / information to fulfillment the requirement of government functionaries.

3. To pay any tax separately (if payable) as per rate fixed by the Government.

4. The goods / envelope, parcels may be opened in the presence of the sender as a precautionary measure.

5. Cargo Service is not available for cash, jewelry, chemicals, liquor, inflammables, liquid, explosives gas cylinders (even if it is empty).

6. Company shall not be responsible / liable for: - 1. Any damage / loss to any of the goods if somebody booked those goods

without declaring it. 2. The goods not received by the consignee within 3-days. 3. The goods not delivered in time due to any problem during journey. 4. Leakage, breakage, spoilage by son, rainwater, weather etc.

5. Damage to any perishable item due to inevitable delay. 6. Damage directly or indirectly arising out of compliance with laws,

government regulations / order or requirements or for any reason beyond company's control.

7. Passports, I.D. Cards, Air-Tickets etc. as these are booked at the sender's risk

7. Cargo tariff will be settled on the spot regarding bulky consignments having lesser weight.

8. The goods shall be transported from company's terminal to terminal only.9. If the cargo consignment (or a part thereof) is lost due to negligence / mistake of

the company, sender shall be compensated in terms of weight and not in terms of value of the lost portion of the consignment. There will be no compensation about the value of mail or documents etc. and these will be treated as goods as per their weight.

Quality service can be provided by quality conscious people. The only way to maintain the level of quality of our service is to engage the best possible human resources. For this purpose company has a defined procedure of human resource intake. Especially the crew is selected after an extensive screening process and continues with intensive training programs. The training & development department designs and arranges these training programs. These training programs are specially designed by keeping in view the job responsibilities of each role. Each person inducted in the company has to be passed through these programs prior to join the duty. Apart from these orientation programs, department also arranges refresher courses and other professional development programs.

LUGGAGE

Every possible support is available for carrying personal luggage while traveling. Please be aware that depending on local regulations, certain items which may cause injuries may not be taken on board in your carry-on baggage. Following are some available facilities:

Luggage upto 30-kgs can be carried by each passenger.

In case of extra luggage, ELT facility can be availed.

Attachment of luggage tags for safety and security. Luggage is handled by trained loaders.

Our courteous and trained crew is responsible for a safe & luxurious journey. We are pioneer of introducing the concept of road hostess in the bus. Crew, which consists of Driver, Hostess and A Guard, is selected and trained in a manner to handle its duties professionally.

DAEWOO WOKSHOP

Spacious, modern and environmentally compatible – the Daewoo fleet comprises busses full of luxury. Throughout, state-of-the-art technology is used in the busses. Daewoo is the first road transport company, in Pakistan, having its own engineering

workshops. Company's own modern workshops with highly skilled workers ensure the smooth, non-stop, and flawless running of these busses. To guarantee the journey without any breakdown, there is a workshop maintained at each terminal. Before departure, each bus has to be checked and cleared by workshop officials. Through this process, percentage of breakdowns during the journey is quite negligible. Facility of mobile workshops and stand by busses is also available to avoid any unwanted situation on the road. Workshop Services are carried out efficiently to ensure the safety of our passengers and crew.

COMPENSATION

After such care, even if there is some delay due to breakdown, we value the precious time of passengers by compensating it. Passengers are compensated in accordance with the following:

In case of a delay of more than one hour due to breakdown, 50% of the fare is refunded at the destination terminal.

If the delay is of more than two hours, 100% of the fare is refunded at the destination terminal.

FUTURE GOALS

There are two main important future goals of SAMMI DAEWOO :

i. CONNECTING BETWEEN PUNJAB AND SINDH

Daewoo is working hard to create a transport connection between PUNJAB AND SINDH. Because by connecting Daewoo can provide the most cost effective transport

route for people and also they will provide the most comfort transport for the people of Pakistan. For this purpose, Daewoo has build a route from Peshawar to the end of PUNJAB at Sadiqabad. And also building a route and terminal in Karachi and Hyderabad. So Daewoo is making a backbone of transport in Pakistan.

ii. CARGO FACILITY AT DIFFERENT RAILWAY STATIONS

As you know Daewoo is also giving facilities of cargo, so now Daewoo is also giving service of cargo outlet at each and every railway station, this will helpful for people in order to take there cargo from railway station to other parts of the city. And for this purpose Daewoo has started there cargo outlet at LAHOR RAILWAY STATION.
