A woman blows a sphere of flames into a pile of sticks tocreate a fire for a group of explorers.

A man unleashes a green aura around his hands and connectsthem with a decrepit tree. The decrepit tree spouts into ahuge oak with bright green leaves.

A man dressed in an emerald robe treads across a battlefieldof corpses and flames. He comes to halt as he sees beforehim a tribal, large man wearing a feathered headpiece ridingon a enormous dark blue, yellow bird.

KANA: (V.O)(CONT'D)But there was hope yet. Themightiest hero of all the landsEagle-wind battled with every ounceof heart he had and trapped Judaswithin the tallest point ofNirvana... Spirit Mountain!

HIGH ANGLE SHOT OF JUDAS BEING THROWN INTO A FISSURE AT THEFRONT OF SPIRIT MOUNTAIN.

KANA: (V.O)(CONT'D)The people of Nirvana cheered andcelebrated... Their suffering wasat the end.

SCENE 2: INT. KAI'S HOUSE (KAI'S BEDROOM)- NIGHT.

All around the room is children's toys and posters ofadorable animals.

There is a bed placed Underneath a huge mirror; the bedframe is carved like a wolf. Kana Garu is reading a story toher son Kai Garu on the bed.

Kana has long black hair. She is a thin woman with tannedskin. She is wearing shorts and a night vest.

Kai has a dark brown, wild and spiky afro. He is wearingpyjamas with dog paw patterns on them.

BIRDS EYE SHOT OF KANA AND KAI LAYING ON THE BED.

KANA:The end...

KAI: What! You can't just leave thestory there mum!

KANA: Hush now puppy, it's getting late.

KAI: Fine...

Kai gets under his quilt and snuggles into his mum.

KAI: (CONT'D)Hey mum... Can I ask you something?

KANA:You can ask me anything.

KAI: Do you miss daddy...?

EXTREME CLOSE UP OF KARNA GRIPPING THE QUILT.

KANA: truthfully puppy... No.

KAI: How come?

Kana smiles down at Kai and starts stroking his untamedhair.

KANA: Because whenever I look at you...You remind of the brave, kind manyour father was. You share hisheart.

KAI:I do...?

KANA:Yes... You are the most preciousthing your father left behind, heentrusted all he cared about withyou.

KAI:Do you really think I'm like dad?Wasn't he the greatest warrior ofall?

KANA:And he also fought for the thingshe loved... That's why you're likehim... Because you're both strong.

Kana kisses Kai on the head and tucks him in.

KANA: (CONT'D)Goodnight...

Kana walks to the door and opens it.

KAI: Sleep tight.

KANA:Don't let those banana bugs bite.

SCENE 3: INT. KAI'S HOUSE (LANDING)- NIGHT.

Kana closes the door behind her and leans her back on it. Aman wearing grey and black camouflage uniform, tucked underhis heavily armed tactical vest makes eye contact from adistance in the landing.

MAN: Are you sure you want to do thisKana?

Kana takes a DEEP BREATH.

SCENE 4: EXT. STREET (OUTSIDE KAI'S HOUSE)- NIGHT.

The night sky is morbidly black. The rain showers lightly.

Outside the door of Kai's house Kana is talking to G-man andLady Hui.

Lady Hui is a female panda bear wearing a maid costume.

G-Man is an elderly bloke wearing a blue robe. He has athick head of grey hair. He is holding onto a cane with thesilver head of a wolf as the handgrip.

EXTREME CLOSE UP OF G-MAN'S CANE.

LADY HUI:You be safe Kana.

KANA:Don't worry about me. The captainchose me for a reason... I'm theonly person in the city that can dothis.

G-MAN: Make your city proud angel.

Kana kisses both Lady Hui and G-man on the head.

KANA: Don't worry... I will.

Kana jumps into the driving seat of a horse carriage anddrives off.

The rain becomes heavier. We hear it pelt against the horsecarriage.

CLOSE UP SHOT OF KANA.

KANA: (V.O) (CONT'D)I'll see you all soon... Be strongfor mummy Kai. This is for theDawning of a new era... A newhero... The dawning of a new moon.

Title reading 'Dawning Moon' smacks onto the screen.

CUT TO:

SCENE 5: INT. DRACO CITY ACADEMY (HISTORY CLASS) - EVENING.

We see a class of students being taught by Cong Sensei aboutthe history of Silk. Heat ripples the screen as we see theclass doze off.

One boy named Weasel gets a paper ball in a slingshot he'shiding under his desk.

Weasel is wearing a black top with a skull on it. He haslong, grey, wavy hair. His pale skin shows off his deep blueeyes.

Weasel fires the paper-ball at Kai Garu's head. Kai leans upoff his chair.

Kai is now much more taller. He has pointier ears. On hisneck he wears a neclace with an eagle on it; dangling downfrom the eagle is four other beaded lines with feathers onthe end of them. He has a denim jacket, unbuttoned showingoff his necklace.

KAI:Alright, who threw that at me!?

WEASEL:I'm surprised you felt anything hitthat empty head of yours.

KAI:It was you weren't it yer mop-head!?

WEASEL:Mop-head!? Shut yer mouth yerpointy eared doofus!

KAI:(Shaking his fist)

I'll knock yer block off yerbastard!

WEASEL: I'm a bastard!? You're the onewhose mum ran out on him. Besideswho does a no one like you thinkhe's talking to?

KAI:I ain't a no one... My names KaiGaru and I'm gonna...

CONG SENSEI:Fine if you really want somethingmore interesting how about thestory of the shadow war?

(in an OLD LADIES voice,with a wrinkled face)

The class are all silent. We hear a CRICKET noise as CongSensei sees a sea of BLANK faces.

CONG SENSEI:(CONT'D)Do you guys even read at home,what's wrong with your generation!?

CONG SENSEI:Fine but only because it's usefulto you all

Cong Sensei COUGHS DRYLY.

CONG SENSEI: (CONT'D) The Shadow War finished in 1997after the main forces who initiatedit where broken down. This is thestory of how... The Shadow Warended. It was a night the people ofDraco City will never forget. TheImperial Empire had came to invadeour homeland... Our military forcesretaliated with all the strengthand might they had. And yet wewhere still being furiously tornapart. Crushed at their hands.

CROSS FADE TO:

SCENE 6: EXT. THE JADE COUNTY (BATTLEFIELD) - NIGHT.

Sounds of STEEL COLLIDING and SCREAMS OF AGONY echoingthrough a field, saturated in bodies and abandoned weapons.

CONG SENSEI:(V.O)(CONT'D)The Kaiser had summoned his secretweapon and was about to destroy thewhole of the Dragon Lands. Only oneman stood in his way.

A man charges amongst the sea of bodies and creates a silveraura around his right palm.

The man has long, black, curly hair and is wearing a whitekarate gi showing of his muscular body. His name is ChandlerRome.

A dozen of enemy soldiers race at him. He expands the silveraura in his palm and fires it at the them.

CHANDLER:Roar of the Silver Wolf! KibaHisakata!

The streaming silver aura turns into a wolfs head and spearsat them. The soldiers are forced down like bowling pins.

CHANDLER:(CONT'D)Soldiers! We need to take out theenemies surrounding the volcano...Once we do that we can assistGrandfather Chang!

A bear-like man comes to Chandlers side.

BEAR-LIKE MAN:No problem Rome!

LOW ANGLE SHOT FROM THE BATTLEFIELD OF TWO PEOPLE FIGHTINGON THE TOP OF A VOLCANO.

CUT TO:

SCENE 7: EXT. THE JADE COUNTY (VOLCANO)- NIGHT.

A tall, well built man is fighting on the top of the volcanocarrying with him a giant blade made of stone. The stone hasrims of lava running through it. He is the Kaiser.

He is fighting with an old man dressed in a golden kung-fusuit. His name is Chang.

Kaiser slashes at Chang but Chang kneels down, grabbing thesword; preventing the removal of his head.

CHANG: It doesn't have to be this way!Too many men have died already!

KAISER:It will end here Chang! Draco Cityand all it's inhabitants will meetthere doom!

CHANG: No...!

Chang suddenly creates a golden fire and pummels it intoKaiser's stomach. The Kaiser is forced back towards the holeof the volcano.

The Kaiser regrips his sword as he peers down into the holeof the volcano, seeing before him a golem like creature madeof fire emerging from the lava.

KAISER: (V.O)It's time

Kaiser thrusts his blade into the rock of the volcano. Adark red energy blasts from underneath him.

KAISER: (CONT'D)Rise from the shallow lake of fireApollyon and blow these worms toashes!

CHANG: Stop it! We can end this beforeit's too late.

We hear the ROAR of apollyon as a huge splash of embersreach over onto the surface.

KAISER:It's too late for that... Now die!

Chang summons golden lighting into his hand which transformsinto a spear. Chang leaps in the air and THRUSTS it into theKaiser's chest.

The Kaiser GASPS as he stumbles back towards the hole of thevolcano. The Kaiser reaches out his hand and falls in.

BIRDS EYE SHOT OF THE KAISER FALLING INTO THE MOUTH OFAPOLLYON.

CHANG: Forgive me, there was no otherchoice.

Chandler Enters the scene.

CHANDLER: Master, did you win?

Chang falls to his knees in pain as he FROWNS at the wavesof lava spilling over the volcano.

CHANDLER: (picking up Chang)

Master! Are you ok!?

CHANG: I'm Fine... But listen Chandler, myloyal student... You must go andget to safety.

CHANDLER: But Chang...!

CHANG:GO! And don't let me down...

Chandler wells up with tears as he watches Chang summon Agolden aura around his body in the shape of samurai armour.

CHANG: Time to to finish this.

Chandler disperses from the scene.

Chang jumps down into the hole with his new samurai armourand summons golden electricity which morphs into the shapeof a katana.

He slashes down at Apollyon and a golden flash blurs thescreen.

CONG SENSEI: (V.O)And so The universal Grandfather'Master Chang' sacrificed his lifeto defeat the demon Apollyon andsave the Dragon Lands.

CROSS-FADE:

SCENE 8: INT. DRACO CITY ACADEMY (HISTORY CLASS) - EVENING.

We see the empty white board of the classroom. Cong stepsinto the camera and looks directly into it.

CONG SENSEI:There will never be another likehim... And so that was the howDraco City ended the Shadow War.Any questions?

THE CAMERA PANS LEFT AND THEN STOPS AS IT HITS KAI.

Kai is TREMBLING in his desk.

CONG SENSEI:Well Kai, it seems even a livewirelike you has a soft spot eh.. Don'tcry young man just remember thebrave lives who...

KAI: I'm trembling from excitement! Oneday I'll be a hero like that oldman! And I'll be the strongestwarrior of all time! My name is KaiGaru and I will...!

The bell RINGS and the students pack up and leave.

KAI:(MOPING)

Man... Even the school bell cuts meoff...

WIPE FROM RIGHT TO:

SCENE 9: INT. DRACO CITY ACADEMY (GYM CLASS)- EVENING.

We cut between individual shots of students performing mixedmartial shots on each other. We hear the TUMBLING of bodieshitting the floor.

We get to a shot of Kai talking to Daisuke Nagata on a P.E.bench.

Daisuke is a short, pudgy boy. He has goggles resting on hisforehead. His hair is thick and sticks up like bull horns.His red shirt is gripped tightly by his backpack which isstrapped to both arms.

KAI:So did you catch the latest MMAshow? Austin Phoenix beat the crapout of Christian Corpse man.

DAISUKE:No, I told you my mum wont letme... She thinks it'll stop medoing real stuff...

KAI:Oh yer? Like what?

DAISUKE:Yer know science and stuff...

KAI:Science!? Look man I gotta tellyer; your almost 18 and you need tostart letting those squares yercall parents know that you're not akid any more... Stand up to em'man.

DAISUKE:Are you kidding me? Ma would beatme like an egg. And I've seen Mamake eggs.

CUT TO:

SCENE 10: INT. DAISUKE'S SUBCONSCIOUS.

The camera is tightly stuck on Daisuke only.

Daisuke starts to quiver as a fat woman in an apron turnstowards the camera. The fat woman is frantically beatingeggs in a bowl.

FAT WOMAN:(demonic voice)

How'd yer like your eggssnookypoo...? Scrambled or fried!?

The bowl burst into flames and the Fat Woman startslaughing. As her mouth opens wide we see sharp fangs.

CUT TO:

SCENE 11: INT. DRACO CITY ACADEMY (GYM CLASS)- EVENING.

KAI:Yer but if you watch it you canlearn all sorts and yer knowwhat...? Girls love guys who canfight.

DAISUKE: Really! They do!

KAI: Oh yer and I bet you Alexis Zhiangdoes to.

DAISUKE: But Kai...

KAI: What's up buddy?

DAISUKE: You can't fight.

Kai falls of the bench.

KAI: Jeesh pal... You're sucha supportive friend. (bouncing back up)

Just you watch, one day I'll beatall these bonehead jocks and Alexiswill be all like...

ALEXIS:I'll be all like what...?

Kai looks up to see standing before him Alexis Zhiang.Alexis is wearing a black, short, sleeveless bellytop with asilk red scarf across her neck. She is wearing a short blackskirt with stockings all the way up her legs. Her mousybrown fringe partially covers her right eye.

KAI: Oh hey Alexis... How are you?

ALEXIS:Whatever. Just ask for permissionbefore you use my name again k.

KAI: Yer sure but erm I was thinking...

ALEXIS:Did it hurt?

KAI: (twiddling his thumbs))

Well I was just wondering... Iferm... Maybe... You wanna hang outsome time?

Oxen Tyson enters the scene. Oxen is a well built young man.He has spiky red hair. He is wearing a scarlet red,sleeveless karate gi with the emblem of a fireball on it.

OX:Hey Alexis. These losers botherin'you? I can take em out if you want?

KAI: Just try it carrothead!

The leer at each other. The coach BLOWS his whistle

COACH: Alright next we'll have our champ!Oxen Tyson!

Ox strolls over to the punching bag.He winks over to Alexis.

Ox delivers fast paced kicks and punches to the punchingbag.

Kai sighs as he stares at the bag being RAPIDLY POUNDED.

COACH: (V.O)Ox comes from the legendary Tysonfamily which means strength andstamina like his is almostincomparable... Hell the kidsbetter than me.

(V.O finishes)Alright everyone give a round ofapplause for Ox!

The students CHEER as Oxen leaves the punching bag.

KAI: Hah! I can do better than that!

OX: What can a loser like you do?

KAI: (strolling over to thebag))

I'm no loser... I'm...

OX: Who the hell even are you?

KAI: Dammit don't cut me off! And myname's Kai Garu. I'm in yourscience class!

OX:Oh yer the idiot who got his butstuck in the fishbowl!

KAI: Just forget it!

OX: You gonna hit the bag or what!?

KAI: Whats the mater? Thought you mightwanna avoid embarrassment.

OX: The only thing embarrassing hereare that hairdo pal!

KAI: Oh yer, what about that boys aloudposter that I saw fall out yourlocker?

OX: (Going red)

Kai takes a step back and runs at the bag.

KAI: (Leaping in the air)

Here it goes! Eagle-wind Dropkick!

Kai leaps down in a dropkick position but misses and headstowards Daisuke.

KAI: (CONT'D)Sweet Saviour! Watch out Man!

Kai tumbles into Daisuke. They fall into a stack of gymequipment. A bucket of water falls and soaks them.

The whole gym LAUGHS at them.

OX: Man, whoever the hell you areyou're a real bad joke! Just giveup!

ALEXIS:The object is to hit the bag youknow!

Kai shakes tensely and runs out the gym hall. The doubledoors slam open and shut behind him.

CLOSE UP OF DAISUKE.

DAISUKE: Kai...

DISSOLVE OUT.

DISSOLVE TO:

SCENE 12: EXT. KIBA FOREST (BLOODRIVER CLIFF)-NIGHT.

Kai is running through a forest, tears are falling in thewind as he charges through the path ahead. The sky hasturned to light black as night slowly falls upon Kai.

KAI: (V.O)Why do I always screw up likethis... Who the hell even am I!?

Kai keeps charging ahead until he falls down a hill. KaiROLLS down helplessly until he collides into a giant oaktree. His ribs BANG against the solid wood.

KAI: (CONT'D)(picking himself up usingthe tree)

Dammit that hurt... And where thehell am I.

Kai walks towards the end of a cliff as he stares outtowards the sea which is glistening under the moonlight.

Kai stares with a motionless face.

FADE IN.

SCENE 17: INT. KAI'S INNER THOUGHTS.

Kai is still facing in the same direction.

GREY STATIC becomes the background.

WEASEL'S head FADES into the scene.

WEASEL:(V.O)You're the one whose mum ran out onhim. Besides who does a no one likeyou think he's talking to?

Weasel's head FADES OUT and CONG SENSEI'S head FADES IN.

CONG SENSEI:(V.O)Kai, you are just hopeless...

Cong Sensei's head FADES OUT and OXEN TYSON'S head FADES IN.

OX: (V.O)Man, whoever the hell you areyou're a real bad joke! Just giveup!

FADE TO:

SCENE 13: EXT. KIBA FOREST (BLOODRIVER CLIFF)-NIGHT.

Kai takes a step forward. His foot reaches slightly over thecliff but suddenly a COUGH is heard in the bushes.

Kai turns around and sees emerging from the bushes a manwrapped in dirty, torn bandages from head to toe. The manhas black, frizzy hair and beady eyes. His name is Edge.

KAI:What the... Sir are you ok?

EDGE:Who? Me? Yer I'm great how are you?

Kai GULPS as he takes a few steps sideways towards the spacemost distant from Edge.

EDGE:You're not thinking about runningnow are you?

KAI:Erm... No I was just erm... It'stime for me to go home is all.

EDGE: Home... I got the impression youdidn't have a home.

KAI:Yer and my Grandad would be reallyworried about me so I gotta getgoing.

EDGE: Kid... This is Kiba forest. All thebig bad wolves are out tonight...And how unfortunate you've foundthe most merciless beast of em all.

Edge jumps in the air and kicks Kai to the floor.

EDGE: (CONT'D)Look little mouse... It ain't likeI was huntin' you or nuttin. I justcan't have any witnesses.

KAI:Witnesses... What the hell are youtalking about.

EDGE: Well yer see... I'm a famousterrorist, you might of heard ofme, the barbaric Edge. And no Idon't do autographs. But I do havea plan to wipe all you little DracoCity worms of the planet...

KAI:What... You bastard... You'll haveto get through me first.

EDGE: (V.O)I may not have my blades on me butI can take this punk with my barehands.

Kai leaps up and takes a shot at Edge's nose. Blood gushesfrom it as Edge takes a few steps back.

KAI:Even if they're all jerks! I'llnever let a stupid mummy like youhurt them!

EDGE:I was gonna go easy on yer but nowyou've pissed me off!

Edge dashes at Kai and scratches his face. Edge then kneeshim in the gut and pulls his hair back.

CLOSE UP OF EDGE'S FIST REPEATEDLY PUMMELING KAI IN THEFACE.

Edge gives a chop to the throat and throws him to the floor.Edge walks away laughing.

Kai starts to gradually pick himself up.

KAI:Hey! I ain't done yet you asshole!

EDGE:Stupid little shit! Die already!

Edge picks up a log with a splintered end and charges at Kaiwith it. Edge runs Kai into the oak tree from before and thelog slightly impales him. Blood starts to DRIP.

EDGE:(CONT'D)(licking his lips)

Time to break those young bones ofyours boy... I'm feeling prettyhungry to. Some minced heart soundsnice!

Edge grinds the log in more, Kai SCREAMS. As the screamECHOS Crows fly up from their nests towards the moon.

DISSOLVE TO:

SCENE 12: INT. GRANDFATHER SHIH-FU'S OFFICE - NIGHT.

We see an elderly man meditating on a yoga mat, HUMMING ashe sits motionlessly. He is wearing an emerald kung-fu suit.His long white beard reaches to his stomach. He is calledShih-Fu.

Moonlight passes in through a window and illuminates hisface. His eyes quickly open as he gazes into the camera.

SHIH-FU:This feeling... This is... Death.

CUT TO:

SCENE 14: EXT. KIBA FOREST (BLOODRIVER CLIFF)-NIGHT.

EDGE:(CONT'D)Before, you were just about to endit all right? Why did you fight?Why not just jump and end it all...Take this lesson to the angels withyer. The worlds full of pain, ifyou can't beat it just give up andembrace it... Some people are bornweak and destined to fail; othersare born strong and destined tosucceed. Guess which one you are.

EXTREME CLOSE UP OF KAI.

Kai's pointy ears are flattened. Shadows consume his face ashe stares away from the Barbaric Edge.

SCENE 15: INT. KAI'S HOUSE (KAI'S BEDROOM)- NIGHT.

The camera turns to a SEPIA EFFECT.

Kana smiles down at Kai and starts stroking his untamedhair.

The moonlight shines upon Kai's face. Kai lifts his head upand reveal eyes of mystic yellow pupils.

Kai's ears have became pointy again. Silver hair has grownrapidly on his forearms and face.He bears his enlengthenedcanines at Edge.

Kai hammers down on the log and breaks it in half. Edgetries to throw a punch but Kai ducks and rapidly thrusts hishands into Edge's ribs.

KAI:(CONT'D)Four finger Beast strike!

THE CAMERA TURNS INTO AN X-RAY EFFECT AS WE SEE IN SLOWMOTION A CLOSE UP OF EDGE'S RIBS CRACKING WITH EVERY SHOT.

The camera returns to normal now as Edge is sent flyingback.

EDGE:(V.O)Who the hell is this kid!? Andwhere did this tremendous powercome from!?

Kai summons a silver aura around his hand. The aura isspinning wildly out of control.

KAI:My name is Kai Garu...

The aura now shapes into a sphere of energy.

KAI:(CONT'D)I vow to become the greatestwarrior of all time and protect thethings I care about...

Kai leaps into the air and the silver energy now morphs intothe head of a wolf.

The image of non-diegetic, dark blue eyes flash on thescreen.

Kai charges down towards Edge and hits him with the aura ofa wolf's head. We hear an EXPLOSION almost like that of aSAVAGE BARK.

The screen blurs white as all noise fades out.
