Compact, cellophane-overwrapped tray has been adopted by Plymouth Golf Ball Co., Plymouth
^Aeeting, Pa., for merchandising new Stylist steel-' center ball. Tray is sparkling showpiece and gives
extra long heat seal. In red, white and blue, it is divided into three sections.
Ball Mark Eraser for Superintendents
A ball mark eraser made by Poppet Corp., 8707 Hudson blvd., North Bergen, N.J., is a
" tool recommended for the supt. by the manufac-turer. It works through a series of pins (about
"'the size of nails) in a cluster that is pressed into the soil and then withdrawn. The cluster removes
compacted turf which has been pressed-between the points of the pins. To remove the ball mark, the pin cluster is withdrawn through matching holes in the base. The base plate strips off the turf at the ground level. In practice, the turf is merely raised to ground level and is not actually torn away from surrounding turf. The Poppet Ball Mark Eraser can be bought on a money back arrangement.
Halts for Crabgrass Is New Scott Product
Halts is the new product developed by O. Nl. Scott & Sons, Marysville, O., to help beat the crabgrass problem. It is said to kill crabgrass seeds as they sprout and without thinning the turf or causing it to turn an unsightly brown. Tests, Scott says, have proved that as high as 95 per cent of the summer crabgrass crop can be destroyed by pre-emergent treatment. Halts and all Scott products are specially priced to golf courses.
Pedersen Sales Co., Wilton, Conn., has added a "guide" to its full-finger golf glove, that it is said, automatically shows the golfer the correct position of the left hand on every shot. Peder-sen's "Hold-Rite," for men and women, in black leather is specially treated to a fine tackiness to help with the grip.

MacGregor Flame Ceramic Irons on Launching Pad
Taking a cue from aircraft and missile engi-neers, MacGregor is using powdered ceramic material in its new FC-4000 Flame Ce-ramic irons. The ce-ramic is fused to met-al at 4,000 deg. F for wear resistance and longer "touch." What is said to be unique vertically scored black face permits the play-er to frame the ball for easier line up. The new Pro-Pel Action shaft has exclusive stepdown pattern and graduated wall thickness that is claimed to give increased power. FC-4000 is available in four flexes.
Linck Has Weed Control Product for Southern Turf
For its Southern market, O. E. Linck, Inc., Clifton, N. J., is offering TAT-42, said to be a true pre-emergence weed control especially com-pounded for Bermuda and St. Augustine turf. A single application lasts from three months to a season, according to the manufacturer, and it works on weedy grasses as well as broadleaf weeds without injury to turf.
