After joining as a shop assistant/ mechanic for OT Cycles I held this role for 5 years before being promoted to a fulltime management role which I have held for the past 24 years. My responsibilities and duties include stock control, cash & bank, online purchasing ,merchandising of product, dealing with representatives from Wholesalers/Suppliers & general workshop duties including all types of repair and dealing face to face with our customers on a professional level. I am responsible for pushing sales of cycles, scooters and a wide range of accessories. I have attended a Sturmey Archer 3 speed Service course and am confident on the assembly and disassembly of the AW Hub. As Marin stockists we participated in a mystery shopper scheme, and as a result of this I was awarded 2 Certificates of Excellence for scoring over 90%. In 2012 I obtained my Cytech Technical one -Theory Module certificate online and hope to continue progressing .

In 2012-13 I earned my NVQ Level 2 Retail Skills diploma over a period of 10 months. Within this process I have learnt Health and Safety in the Workplace, Equality and Discrimination amongst Employees and a Positive approach towards the Customer. The module also dealt with accepting goods and placing them into a safe environment and dealing with customer queries and complaints.

I have been responsible for teaching & training many employees over the last 20 years and have also been responsible for all work placement students. I have over 30 years of knowledge about bikes & general repair work. I currently undertake all the cycle repairs on a daily basis from a simple tube replacement to a full blown custom build. My current day to day duties include replenishing stock ,checking & preparing invoices for payment, Workshop duties, dealing with customers to a high standard and end of day banking both with the tills and the Electronic Payment Terminal. I was responsible for a 2 year service contract with Kent Police and have good contacts throughout the Industry. I am well known by my customers for providing excellent service and I have no doubt some will follow me to my new work placement.

In 2011 I started my own computer repair service. I have always had a great thirst for knowledge on how computers work and how to make them work again. I am self taught, but can build PCs from scratch, build and install components and upgrades and install various types of software including Windows operating systems. I’m capable of installing anti-virus and various other programs & can diagnose computer issues and replace faulty parts with ease.
