Council of Organizations of the Ateneo Central Board Elections 2012-2013: Electoral Form

III. PLATFORM

1) Main Point: Building the SBC Community/ Identity Details: I will change some of the dynamics of the old projects like Friendship Hour. With the consent of the new Cluster Board, I plan to make it a bonus requirement for the organizations with retention requirements. This is to insure better attendance. Also, an incentive system will be implemented. This will be further discussed in our consultations and in the Miting De Avance. For the BACON Session, instead of having six sessions for the different org officers, I plan to make it into two events (one at the start of each semester) so that the EB members of each org will get to know all the other EB members of the other orgs. For the cluster identity, there will be more efforts to show cluster solidarity and unity. An example of this is the creation of a cluster shirt that has not been done for the past two years. I will also make sure that COA will be more visible to the members through the more active participation of CHeSTs in the activities.

2) Main Point: Better Representation and Handling of the Cluster Board Details: In terms of representing SBC to the COA CB, this was a very good year. I plan to continue these efforts next year. I will also make sure that the cluster board and the CHeSTs will be more bonded so as to create a good working atmosphere in the cluster. Next year will be a more consultative year for SBC. I plan to have three required ICs for each semester so that I can better evaluate the orgs after the school year. These ICs will ensure that the orgs will be better represented and their views will be the view of SBC in the council. There will be consistency in the org EB meeting sit-ins next year. This effort was started this year but it wasn’t followed through due to schedule conflicts.

3) Main Point: Improved Project Management Details: To make sure that the projects will be more effectively implemented next year, I will start the planning for the projects earlier. It will also involve a lot of consultations so that the orgs will be better represented and visible. Definitely, there will be no more crammed projects for the next school year. We will employ new methods in handling the projects to make sure that they will be more successful.

4) Main Point: Upgrading System Details: The important documents will be rechecked next year. More importantly, this point will focus on better SCrew recruitment and handling. Instead of having presidents endorse possible core team members, there will be a recruitment process (like a job opening) for those who are interested in joining the Serbisyo Crew. This is to ensure better commitment from core team members, which was problematic this school year. There will definitely be more training for the core team next year.

5) Main Point: Externalization Efforts Details: Next school year, the PasaHero project will be restructured in a way that will entice more Ateneans t join it. Following the example of some organizations outside Ateneo, we will have a volunteerism card that will be used by members to track their attendance in the events. With the consent of the new Cluster Board, we will have a simple launch for the project. We will also have more tie-ups with inside and outside organizations and sponsors next school year. I assure that all the deals that SBC will enter will benefit the organizations.
