“Creme Booking” was a music artists booking agency I have founded along with Morgan Ham-mer in 2008. My friend focused in artists manage-ment, contracts, administration and mainly music matters. And me in visuals design, branding, mar-keting and internet support. In 2013 we closed the agency to focus in other projects, Morgan in her music carreer and me in graphic design. In the time between, we did a lot of things.

“Les Enfants de la Creme” was the music collec-tive derived from Creme Booking which organized different music events between 2008 and 2013. From label showcases in big venues to small and intimate parties in hidden spots.

With our roster artists as hosts, we celebrated di-fferent parties in clubs like Fever (Bilbao), The Loft and Lolita (Razzmatazz, Barcelona), Sonar Festi-val (2010 off party at Hotel ME, Barcelona), Sonar Festival (2011, 2012 off party Chiringuito Calamar, Barcelona) Moog Club (Barcelona), Sport Charada (Madrid), Sala Tunk (Irun), Rex Club (Paris), Batofar (Paris) Ninkasi Kao (Lyon), La Dame Noir (Marsei-lle), Breakfast Club (Tel-Aviv), etc...

Through all those years, we collaborated with ar-tists such as Bozzwell, Carreno is LB, Catalepsia, Chloé, Club Bizarre, Coma, Demian, Damon Jee, Djs Pareja, Franz Kirmann, Gameboyz, Garnica, Greg Delon, Harald Björk, Heiko Voss, Hiem, Ja-mes Teeg, Jennifer Cardini, Marc Piñol, Matt Wal-sh, Maurice Aymard, Matias Aguayo, Moscoman, Nhar, Paul Nazca, Red Axes, Reihard Voigt, Tomas More, Fairmont, The Emperor Machine, Tobias Tho-mas, Tomas Schaeben, Undo, Zombies in Miami, among others.

Here there’s a selection of different posters and flyers of some of the many events we did during those years.

Caffe Fiorino Franchise Microsite

Back in 2010, I was a happy lad enjoying the advantages of carefree life. Then I had enough time to design and de-velop some websites as a freelance after my main work and studies. I didn’t had too many opportunities to develop websites as a freelance and I rejected some of them due to the low budget people had to spend on those quind of projects. From that period of time, there’s only one web remaining. One I did for Barcelona’s Caffè Fiorino coffe-shops franchise thanks to Estudi 3 design studio who gave me the project as an outsider graphic designer and front-end web developer. This microsite can be visited in that url:

Morgan Hammer - Sink or Swim EP

Ilustration done for Morgan Hammer 12” vinyl slee-ve of his album Sink or Swim EP on Relish Recor-dings Released in May 2013.

Swim or Sink or perhaps Sink or Swim as Morgan Hammer said? Mathematics teach us that the or-der of the factors doesn’t alters the product. But in this case we can say the same? This shifted wor-ding can be translated to reality without being it shifted as well?

As in mirrors we see our reflex in the surface of water. We believe that we are the real ones and the others over the fluid, mere blurred copycats. But what happens if there’s another reality beyond ours? What if the blurred copy is the real and we are the doppelgänger? We judge ourselves pro-perly? Who are we? What are our circumstances? Nobody knows at first...

“As above so below” teach us Hermes Trismegis-tus in his Emerald Tablet , with the words “That which is Below corresponds to that which is Abo-ve, and that which is Above, corresponds to that which is Below, to accomplish the miracles of the One thing”.

In accordance with the various levels of reality (phy-sical, emotional, and mental), this relates that what happens on any level happens on every other. So in fact, there are no copies. We are always the same ones viewed trough different glances. Even if those gazes are weird or shifted, there’s a spark of reality in each of them. Maybe not physical, maybe not tangible, but true as feelings are.

The Emperor Machine - Like A Machine LP

Illustrations done for The Emperor Machine’s album Like a Machine LP on Southern Fried Records. Re-leased in 19th May 2014.

What can be done when an artist like Andrew Mee-cham best known as The Emperor Machine tries to explain to you his ideas about the states of human mind? The variety of feelings that we can enjoy or suffer during a determined moment of solitude. Talks to you about machines, robots and technolo-gy. About the deep space, the stars and the whole universe. About life and death. Sex and erotics. And of course electronic and disco music.

The overall result it’s a trippy image difficult to des-cribe, a twisted picture of horror and wonderful, a vision of suggestive weirdness. A brain or a machi-ne? Maybe both.

The mistery about the fate of an astronaut in a failed space trip. What happened to him? His spaceship has crash landed in a distant and unknown planet where he is isolated. What are the feelings he has? What are his thoughts? Only he knows... The days after the crash he started to explore the sourroun-dings of the dissaster and started an inner journey who transformed his mind until the end of his life. Or perhaps, he still lives there? Trying to repair his broken brain-machine to return to his home?

In this final scene, the astronaut is placed in diffe-rent places of the brain machine at same time, pic-turing the whole scene of what happened to him and his crashed spaceship from the begginign to the end.

Various Artists - Minimal Milan Compilation EP

Minimal Milan is a small compilation of electronic music artists located in Milan, Italy. The six tracks that compose it had been selected by Xiu (Oksana Rodionova), who with this first 12” starts her own new imprint Minimal Trend Records. The artists in-volved are AU+, Plovdiv, Tobler Orchestra, Words and Actions, MM2, and Oksana under her Marry-Me2Night alternative moniker.

The label will host various types of electronic mu-sic always seen throught a dark and blurred glass. Minimal synth, minimal techno, electro, new wave, cold wave, dark wave, dark ambient, noise am-bient, experimental, industrial & post punk will be found there.

As the title of the album suggest. The design of the sleeve had to be minimalistic and dark in some way to fit the mood of the music inside. So after some concepts and sketches, I ended using nothing more than the lleters of the title in a small and sim-ple reading game.

The back of the cover and the B side of the vinyl correspond to a small version of Milan’s metro net-work to evoke the underground origin of the music and relate it with the city where it has been produ-ced.

Xiu & Spatial Relation - Split EP

Peripheral Minimal is a record label created in 2013 by Jason B Bernard as a side label of his main Peri-pheral Records. This time more focused in minimal synth, cold wave and post-punk sounds.

For the second launch of the label, he projected a split 7” vinyl with the artists Xiu (Oksana Rodiono-va) & Spatial Relation. With the titles Highgate & Mysteries of Chance respectively.

Jason’s proposal for this sleeve was an abstract sound wave over a black field, within a minimalist aesthetic, but the titles of the tracks and their spa-tial and/or cosmic sound suggested me the vision of a landscape observed from above during an un-determined night. Overflying the dunes of this schematic desert, an unseen spaceship launcher, follows the white sound shapes of this mysterious and changing en-vironment in a mission of terrain recognition.

The split album will be released this autumn 2013 both in phisical & digital formats on Peripheral Mi-nimal.

Replicanti - Eons (Digital Single)

Digital ilustration done for Chris Replicanti track Eons included in his debut album Electric Mistress EP released by Peripheral Records coldwave and synthwave sublabel Peripheral Minimal. Neverthe-less, this will not be the final art of the album but an image done for promotion. An Eon it’s an undefined and incommensurable pe-riod of time that comprehends milliards of years. Humans doesn’t know a thing that can survive that huge amount of time besides stones, and even sto-nes, shift and transform themselves in those time lapses.

This geomorphic sphere consist in an image laye-ring of black and white photographs that pretends to evoque the shape of a spherical rock sorrounded by a strange spacey ambient. It resembles a planet.

Planets themselves are inmense rocks spherified by gravity and circular movements. The most an-cients things that we can found in space along with stars. You can hear more of Replicanti’s coldwave & mini-malwave music on his Soundcloud.

Logo Proposals for Replicanti

As his artist name comes from replicant and that same word has a lot of connotations and back-ground. I developed those logos following the con-cepts behind it.

In german folkolre exist a being called doppelgän-ger, whom is told to be the double of someone. Most of the time becoming an evil twin who per-forms mischievous acts behind the indentity of the original person, who later has to face the con-sequences. Others, the doppelgänger acts as an omen of bad luck or illness for the family and friends of the person being copied. Or perhaps a presage of death if seeing one’s own doppelgänger.

In a more scientific approach, it describes the sen-sation of having glimpsed oneself in peripheral vision and it has to be with a disfunction into the temporoparietal junction of the brain that some schizophrenics have.

In Philip K. Dick’s tale “Do Androids Dream of Elec-tric Sheeps?” androids or replicants as they’re known in his film adaptation “Blade Runner”, are ar-tificial beings who look exactly as humans but had a lack of emotions or true past memories due to the fact that they where created as adults without childhood experience. They’re not evil, but have difficulties to differentiate the good or the bad.

Almost humans, but not yet, so... What makes us humans? What make replicants not? Perhaps feelings?Perhaps childhood? Maybe both, as chil-dhood is when we develop our empathy and basic emotions. Maybe that’s the time when we are who we are, and in subsequent years as we grow, we change into something different. Something not so human. Something more like a machine.

Le Démiurge - Ex Nihilo Nihil Fit

The Demiurge is a concept from the Platonic, Neopythagorean, Middle Platonic, and Neoplatonic schools of philosophy for an artisan-like figure res-ponsible for the fashioning and maintenance of the physical universe.

The term was subsequently adopted by the Gnos-tics. Although a fashioner, the demiurge is not necessarily thought of as being the same as the creator figure in the familiar monotheistic sense, because both the demiurge itself plus the mate-rial from which the Demiurge fashions the univer-se are considered either uncreated and eternal, or the product of some other being, depending on the system.

In Gnosticism the Demiurge, creator of the mate-rial world, was not God but the Archon.

In the arch-dualist ideology of the various Gnos-tic systems, the material universe is evil, while the non-material world is good. Accordingly, the Demiurge is malevolent, as linked to the material world.

Misantropía Atòmica

A self portrait where a gentle devil is instructing me about how to build an atomic bomb to blow away all around me... Just an illustration to release the glimpse of misanthropy I had in a certain moment.

In Western philosophy, misanthropy has been con-nected to isolation from human society. In Plato’s Phaedo, Socrates defines the misanthrope in re-lation to his fellow man: “Misanthropy develops when without “art” one puts complete trust in somebody thinking the man absolutely true and sound and reliable and then a little later discovers him to be bad and unreliable ... and when it hap-pens to someone often ... he ends up ... hating everyone.

“Misanthropy, then, is presented as the result of thwarted expectations or even excessively naive optimism, since Plato argues that “art” would have allowed the potential misanthrope to recognize that the majority of men are to be found in between good and evil.

Aristotle follows a more ontological route: the mi-santhrope, as an essentially solitary man, is not a man at all: he must be a beast or a god, a view reflected in the Renaissance of misanthropy as a “beast-like state.”

Imaginary Futuristic Structures

Inspired by the futuristic sculpture works of Dušan Džamonja, Bogdan Bogdanovich and his contem-poraries, I did a bike trip with my photo camera and took some pics of buildings and structures along the Mar Bella beach in Barcelona until Besòs River and the old abandoned Thermic Energy’s Central placed there.

Once at home I played with the images mirroring them and manipulating its lights and shadows to achieve some resemblance to those Spomenik abandoned futuristic monuments of Eastern Eu-rope that I saw in art books. The result are those images.

Other Works

The following pages contain different things that I have been doing all those years since I finished my studies at Massana Art School in 2009. There’s a bit of everything from logos to posters and more llustrations...

Some of those works where done for clients while others for friends, but the most part where done for my own enjoyment.
