You can help your child learn in many ways over the holidays. You can talk about all the pretty sights you see in the stores and your neighborhood. Watch the many holiday specials on TV with your child and talk with your child about the story. Read our book of the month “The Gingerbread Man” with your child.
We had so much fun on our field trip to the zoo! Thank you so much to all the parents who were able to chaperone. We are looking forward to learning about the different holidays in the month of December. Please read to your child daily, also practice name writing, counting, letter/sound and number recognition. Thank you so much Pre-k Team

Thank you for your assistance in making sure students are getting plenty of sleep and
coming to school prepared. Please review the RISE expectations with your child daily. We want to ensure a safe learning environment for all. Please help your child with all their homework daily. Please check homework folders nightly and return to school the next day. Please also check all Friday Communicator folders every Friday and return them on Monday.
What We Are Learning Reading – Students will look closely at texts to answer who, what, when, where and why questions. We are also learning lots of grammar skills such as collective nouns, pronouns, irregular plural verbs, irregular plural nouns, adverbs etc. We are learning about main idea and key details in informational texts. Writing – Students will write informational writings. These include writing about American Heroes, writing recipes steps in a process, etc. Math – We will be working with clocks and telling time. We are also working online plots, graphs, and collecting data. We are continuing working on adding and subtracting within 100 by regrouping numbers. Students will learn to collect, organize, and create graphs and interpret them. We will continue to work on measurement and word problems. Social Studies: We are continuing to learn about Georgia’s First People. Science: We are continuing to work on the Sun, Moon and Stars. We will also work on seasons and shadows.
