Term 3, Week 2

Dear families

Firstly, huge congratulations to St Mary’s School Athletics team who

competed at the interschool Athletics carnival at Marrara last Thurs-day. It was truly a fantastic achievement for St Mary’s school to win

both the overall trophy and the handicap trophy. Well done! More

importantly I was extremely proud to receive an email from a parent of another school acknowledging the wonderful sportsmanship of

two of our students

“Just wanted to acknowledge the kindness and sportsmanship of your students at today's cluster event. My daughter is from Alawa school and was struggling and feeling unwell during the 10 year old girls 800 m race. Two of your students stopped to assist her and make sure that she was alright, putting care for others over competitiveness. Lovely to see!”

Special thanks and appreciation to Mrs Sarah Muller-our PE teacher-who does a brilliant job teaching PE and pre-paring our students for these events. Please see page 4 of the newsletter for individual results.

Today we had the NED Show performance. NED is a cartoon character whose name is an ac-ronym for Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best. These positive messages

support the messages of resilience, encouraging (WEST) and persistence that we teach at St Mary’s through our whole school program You Can Do It and our Making Jesus Real approach

throughout the school.

A reminder to all families regarding our school phone app. It can be used to check newsletters, notify

student absences, check school calendar and receive notifications. To receive the latest infor-mation shake your phone when the app is open or simply close the app and reopen it. In

order to receive messages sent from the school you need to select ‘allow notifications’. The app can be downloaded to any smart phone – just search ‘St Mary’s. If you have any questions or need assis-

tance, please ask at the front office.

Father’s Day Movie Night-2nd September In celebration of Father’s day this year, a Father’s

Day Movie night will be held at school on Friday 2nd September. Please keep this night free and join us for a wonderful family celebration. This event will be a change from our Father’s day breakfast

held in previous years. The Father’s Day Movie Night will be a combined school and P & F event.

If there are any businesses that might be able to assist with sponsorship for our movie night, I would love to hear from you.

Congratulations to Miss Nancarrow who was nominated by one of our families and presented with an Autism Awareness Award at assembly last Friday. This award is an acknowledgement of her outstanding work with stu-dents with special needs.

as a saint.

Would you like a Life Coach for FREE?

What is Life Coaching and how can it benefit me?

Life Coaching is not psychology or a form of therapy. It is

a practical process of helping individuals reach their full

potential through:

Coaching deals with an individual’s present and future,

moving them from where they are in the present to where

they desire to be in the future. Goals can include an indi-

vidual’s desire to increase personal development, explore

career choice, set up a daily or study routine etc. Goals

that matter to you.

About me.

I have successfully passed my exam for a Certificate in

Life Coaching through the Character and Self-Esteem In-

stitute. To complete the last part of the Certificate I am

required to do practical Life Coaching hours.

Coaching Offer for 2016.

For a limited time, I am offering FREE Life Coaching ses-

sions to benefit individuals who are interested and pre-

pared to commit 1 hour per week for 5 weeks. Life Coach-

ing can be for everyone from:
