Welcome back to school for Term Four. I hope everyone

This term we are introducing a loose parts play area in the

playground. The idea behind loose parts play is to give children

the opportunity to engage in create and constructive play with

simple, mobile objects. Over this term we will be allocating the

loose parts play space to a class each week to give children the

opportunity to explore how the play space can be used. As this

is a new initiative we will adapt how it works over time based on

feedback from students, staff and on observation of how the

students are using the space.

This Friday a number of students will be competing in the

Division athletics in Albury. The students will be travelling by bus

with Brendan. Good luck to those competing.

We have three new families joining us this term. We welcome

Jack (Foundation), Lily (Yr.2) and Aslan (Yr.2, starting next week).

I encourage everyone to help make our new students and their

families feel welcome in our school and local community.

THE JUNIOR SCHOOL COUNCIL'S ROCK STAR DISCO 2019

Thankyou to all students and families who came along to the Junior School Council's Rock Star Disco at the end of term 3! It was fantastic to see the whole community out enjoying the start of the spring weather and dancing into the darkness whilst enjoying the most delicious wood fired pizzas!!! There were so many amazing outfits and dance moves! We hope you all had an amazing time!!

A HUGE thankyou to all of the staff, families and students who helped with the disco! We could not have done it without you! From putting up decorations, moving furniture, making, cooking and serving pizzas - it was a brilliant team effort and and a credit to such a beautiful community we have in Yackandandah! A special shout out to Lorraine Spargo and Tim Stanyer and the Star Hotel for donating the pizza dough to this event! A very generous contribution to our school. We really appreciate the time and effort you all put into such a great night!

Calling anyone keen to try TENNIS!

There will be a ‘come & try’ hit of tennis happening at Yack

Tennis Courts open to anybody no matter their skill level

(encouraging 5-10 yr. olds) for 4 Wednesdays starting

Wednesday 20th November and then another 4 Wednesdays

in Term 1, 2020...I will post again closer to the date but jot

down the dates if hoping to come along. I have run these

sessions in 2018-2019, but this 2019-2020 season we have now

registered as community play and have been supplied with lots

of great equipment and resources so looking forward to

another 8 (total) sessions to come.

The idea is to inspire/expose/nurture kids and tennis to see if

they like it and if so continue offering options for kids to help

develop enough skills to go on and play junior competition etc.

THIS IS NOT COACHING and PARENTS NEED TO STAY, support

their child/ren, even have a hit to their child or another’s. There

is a mandatory cost of $10/child (insurance under Yack Tennis

Club) but that covers them for as many/as few of the sessions

that they might attend.

2019 dates are Wednesday afternoons 3.45-4.45pm at Yack

Tennis Club (Sports Park):

20/11/19

27/11/19

4/12/19

11/12/19

18/12/19 (Back up ONLY)

2020 dates will be:

5/2/20

12/2/20

19/2/20

26/2/20

4/3/20 (Back up ONLY)

I will be attending all sessions so please let me know your

interest or just show up :) my contact is 0425 707 346 if you

have any questions.

I look forward to seeing you on these dates for lots of fun and

something new and exciting.
