GRADE 5/6 CANBERRA CAMP
The Grade 5/6 Canberra Camp will run from Monday
18th until Friday 22nd November. The camp is
conducted with the other schools of the Campaspe
Cluster and includes visits to a range of attractions
including Parliament House. Further details regarding
the camp will be coming soon.
The final cost of the camp is $376 (less the $50 deposit
which has already been paid by families). Payment is
required prior to the camp. Please see Trinity or Jason
if you would like to arrange a payment plan.
UNIFORM POLICY
At our most recent meeting on Monday 21st October,
School Council ratified an updated uniform policy for
our school. Please find this policy attached to today’s
newsletter.
Whilst there has been no change to the clothing that
makes up our school uniform, I wish to draw to the
attention of parents points in the policy related to
jewellery, cosmetics and the wearing of visible
under-garments beneath the school uniform.
I thank our families for their support in ensuring that
students attend school in school uniform.
SUMMER SPORTS—GRADES 3-6
The Summer Sports Carnival will be held at the Elmore
Football Ground on Wednesday 6th November. Please
find attached to today’s newsletter a permission form
for all students in Years 3-6 to attend. Please see Mrs
Daff at the school if you have any questions about the
Summer Sports.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Thank you to those parents and staff members who
attended the meeting last Tuesday evening to contrib-
ute ideas to our Christmas Concert. Following our
School Council meeting on Monday evening I can
confirm that the Concert will be held on Thursday 19th
December at the Goornong Hall. This year’s concert
will begin at 6.15pm and will be followed by a BBQ at
7.15pm.

Student Learning—Whole School Shared Reading
Garden Science Program
Thank you to Tim McCrohan for putting the soil into the new garden bed ready for planting. The Grade 3/4 students requested colour so using the Bendigo Northern District Community Enterprises grant, I purchased a large variety of colourful plants, especially ones that attract butterflies. The Grade 3/4 students had a lovely session planting up the garden outside their classroom. The other students, armed with butterfly nets and magnifying glasses headed off for a bug hunt around the school ground. Not only did we find lots of different types of invertebrates but we found a gecko and a pobblebonk frog. The students discussed "good insects" vs.
"bad insects" and how they affect our lives.

Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of the White Hills Junior Football Club will be held on MONDAY 28th OCTOBER 2013 commencing at 7.30pm at the clubrooms in Scott Street, White Hills.
