Tagging of CDS Accounts with NCSS Client Codes (Back Office IDs)

With the implementation Automation of Securities Settlement in CDS it has been mandatory for all Client Codes (Back Office IDs) to have underlying CDS Account.

Client Codes (Back Office IDs) without having CDS Account would not be eligible for trading after the implementation of said project.

Accordingly, NCCPL has made changes in “NCSS UIN Setup Screen” whereby, BCMs can tagged each Client Code with the respective CDS Accounts having same UIN.

In case of multiple Sub-accounts and House-accounts in CDS against a Client Code, BCM shall be required to tag one sub or house account with the respective Client Codes.

BCM can select one CDS Account for many Client Codes of same UIN or may opt for different CDS Accounts for different Client Codes with same UIN. However, the UIN(s) appearing in the CDS account should be exactly similar to the UINs appearing in the NCSS UIN Registration Detail.

BCM can update the CDS Account already tagged with the respective Client Code 0f the same UIN during working hours as per NCSS Designated Time Schedule (“DTS”).

At the time of posting of UIN Registration Details, NCSS will verify the CDS Account Number from CDS Account Information Database and will not allow posting where CDS Account Status is marked as “Closed” or “Blocked”.

Following new fields have been made available in the UIN Setup Screen of NCSS:

UIN Category;

CDS Account No; and

CDS Account Status.

Tagging of CDS Accounts with NCSS Client Codes (Back Office IDs)

UIN CategoryIn order to tag the Client Code with CDS Account, BCM shall

be required to select the following relevant category of such Client Codes:

Regular (for clients having CDS Sub-account with BCM)

CCM (for clients having CDS Sub-account with Custodian Clearing Members)

NBCM (for clients having status of NBCM of NCCPL)

BCM (for proprietary account and broker of other stock exchange in a capacity of its client)

UIN Category once assigned for a Client Code (saved or posted) shall not be allowed to change/update in NCSS. For assigning new category BCM would require to create a new Client Code in NCSS along with its tagging with CDS Account.

Active CDS Account Numbers will be updated on real time basis in NCSS UIN Setup Screen from CDS Account information provided by CDC.

BCM shall be required to tag CDS Account with any one of the following UIN categories through NCSS UIN Set Up Screen:

Category “Regular” is selected for all those clients having CDS Account with BCM. In such case BCM shall be required to select one CDS Account Number by itself.

Category “CCM” is selected for all those clients having CDS Account with the Custodian Banks. In such case BCM shall not be required to select CDS Account Number.

Category “NBCM” is selected for all institutional clients acquiring status of Non-Broker Clearing Member of NCCPL. In such case BCM shall also not be required to select CDS Account Number.

Category “BCM” is selected for two different reason: For Proprietary business, in such case BCM shall be required to select its CDS House Account

Number For clients having status of BCM of other exchange, in such case BCM shall not be required to

select CDS Account Number of that BCM.

Following status of CDS Accounts will be updated automatically in NCSS:

Active (For active CDS Account)Closed (For Closed CDS Accounts)Blocked (For Blocked CDS Accounts)

In case of change of status as ‘Closed’ and ‘Blocked’ of already tagged CDS Accounts, BCMs are required to re-select any other relevant CDS Account Number.
