“Schmidt Tournament Rules” League Rules All current league rules will apply. Length of Game There will be one minute between quarters and three minutes between halves. A running clock will be in effect stopping only for time‐outs and for substitution. The clock will run during free throws and will operate according to regulation rules during the last 30 seconds of each quarter. All divisions will play 8 minute quar-ters. After a time-out, the clock will begin running once the ball is legally put in play. Each team will be allowed 4 (four) one minute time-outs per game. Teams are permitted one time-out per overtime period. There will be no carryover of time-outs into an over-time period. If the game ends in a tie, a 2-minute overtime will be played. The overtime period will begin with a jump ball. We will repeat the overtime until a winner emerges. There is free substitution during the OT period. A 5-minute grace period will be allowed. If the team does not appear within 5 minutes the scheduled game time a forfeit will be recorded. Teams must bring their own warm-up balls and the Rec. Dept. will provide the game ball. Remember to return your key fob and basketball at the tournament. SUBSTITUTION All league substitution rules will apply.
