The Casino Fun Run will be held on Sunday, 16 September and Kyogle Public School has a dominating reputation to uphold. All students are welcome to participate. Please fill out and return nomination forms (available from Mrs Grace) with $10 to enter. Please note: Because the event is held on a Sunday and parents will need to provide private transport to the venue. More information is available on the nomination form. Students will be in the 2km school challenge.

Order forms have now gone out for the P&C’s fundraising Pie Drive. There are a variety of delicious pies made by Kings Pie Cart (savoury or sweet), and all funds raised will go towards buying a catering toaster for Breakfast Club. Orders are due back (with the correct money) by Wednesday, 22 August and pies will be available for collection on Friday, 31 August. If you could provide your own bag for orders that would be very helpful.

FRIDAY FOR FARMERS

Dress up as a Farmer this Friday to show our

community spirit and support for

our Farmers that are going through

severe drought.

Gold coin donation greatly

appreciated!

Due to a clash of dates with the zone athletics The School Photographer will now be returning to KPS on Monday, 20 August for the whole school photo and Sport Team photos. Please have your child dressed in full school uniform and have their sports uniform if they are apart of a representative sporting team.

Kindergarten Orientation During term 3 Sue Landers has been visiting the feeder Preschools to get to know the children attending Kyogle Public next year. These visits give the pre-schoolers a familiar face for when they attend ‘big school’ and supports the transition program. We are able to identify any individual needs and social groups of the children that will be attending in 2019. Our formal Orientation program will commence in term 4. If you have any more questions or would like extra support please contact Sue. Also, enrolment forms are due asap to facilitate our planning for the program.

Grandparents Day One of the most popular community events we hold every year is Grandparents Day. The children are always very excited to have their ‘grandies’ visit the school. It is a day to celebrate the contribution grandparents have on the school community and families. So mark Wednesday 12 September on your calendars. The event will be held at the school in the afternoon. More details as it gets closer to the date.

What’s happening

District Athletics Carnival 2018 On Tuesday 7th August, our school had 87 students compete at the District Athletics Carnival.

The students who competed on the day represented our school with pride, displaying excellent

sportsmanship and behaviour. We won the Kyogle District merit shield for another year! Some

of our students also won age champion awards for the carnival, which is a credit to their hard

work.

Thank you to Mr Ludwig, Mr Green, Mr Davies, Bruce and parents that helped out on the day. A

special thank you also to Miss Fields for all of her support behind the scenes. Information for

students who will be moving on to the zone level carnival will be coming out shortly. Thank you to

the students for a fantastic day!

Miss Marshall

Last Tuesday the U/10’s travelled to Sydney for the annual All Schools Rugby League State Knockout. We played 3 games in our pool, losing only by a try in each game. The results were 14-12, 20-16 & 16-14. They all played exceptionally well, showed great sportsmanship and should be very proud of their awesome achievements. As usual the players in Sydney were huge, but that didn’t stop our boys from putting in 100%. Well done! A big thank you to all the parents who came, Mrs. Grace for making the trip possible and to Tracey for running the water. Regards Mark
