iSPORT 1958 – 2018: Standards

The summer pursuit of participation and winning came to a conclusion last weekend with a vibrant round against St Laurence’s. All coaches, managers, players, umpires, supporters, canteen helpers, sport medical personnel and groundstaff deserve thanks for the season.

The highlight was the exciting win by 1st volleyball, only our

second premiership in that division – the last being in 1990. A

further 12 volleyball premierships were secured as well as the

prestigious AIC volleyball aggregate.

In cricket, the 7 Gold, 6A, 6B, 5C, 5 Gold teams remained undefeated throughout the season.

Two days after the completion of summer sport, winter trials and

preparation began. It is a rapid turnover that requires further

effort from many with the aim “being ready” for the initial AIC

fixtures next term. Close to 1000 players have nominated to be

active in Term 2, indeed another large operation to get our

players fit, skilled and enjoying their sport.

Our sailing teams will continue their preparations for coming

regattas, including the State Schools Championships.
