The course is available with full-time and part-time routes, comprising three 14-week semesters or five 14-week semesters – which you can take in one year or over three years part-time and distance learning.

COURSE EXPERIENCE
/ Explore the context of data science and the skills, challenges and methodologies involved
/ Develop a specialised knowledge of database systems whilst demonstrating the interaction and synergy between ongoing research and practical application
/ Gain hands-on training in sophisticated computer suites that include a cloud computing platform with OpenStack and access to software platforms and specialised languages including SAS Enterprise Guide & Miner, Python, Apache Hadoop & Spark and RapidMiner. Suites also includes NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB.
/ Achieve SAS certification while you study through our partnership with the SAS Student Academy

MSc Duration: One year full-time, three years part-time
Location: Peel Park campus
Entry Requirements:
Applicants should possess at least a UK second-class honours degree (2:2) or equivalent in any discipline with previous demonstrable mathematical aptitude – for example, A-level or BTEC Mathematics.
We also accept applicants who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience, through Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) scheme.
International applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English through an IELTS score of 6.0 (and no element below 5.5).
