What you need to know Q1. If I use a compatible or remanufactured product will this invalidate my warranty or service agreement? A1. No. Your franking machine warranty cannot be invalidated by the machine manufacturer. This would be illegal and contrary to the Office of Fair Trading Act of 2002 and further undertakings given in 2005. This act prohibits manufacturers from voiding a franking machine warranty due to the use of third party supplies. This ruling from the Office of Fair Trading means you are entitled to source your ink from your choice of supplier and this CANNOT and WILL NOT affect your service or warranty agreement. If your machine manufacturer or one of their engineers inspecting your machine states that use of any alternative ink cartridge will invalidate your warranty then they are breaking the law – this is Illegal. Simply ask for this in writing in either one of their engineers reports used to detail a machine inspection, or simply ask for a letter stating this direct from the manufacturer. This will never happen as they will have provided documented evidence they are breaking the law.

Furthermore, Pitney Bowes and Neopost sell a broad range of replacement cartridges for HP, Canon, and other brands of printers. Their products enjoy the same legal protection relative to your warranty. It would be a contradiction if Pitney Bowes and Neopost did not apply the same protection to alternative supplies for their franking machines. Q2. Will a compatible cartridge produce the same number of impressions as an original cartridge?

A2. Yes, our full range of franking machine cartridges have been tested to ensure that the number of impressions printed is equal if not higher than the original cartridge. Q3. Can I replace my current original cartridge with a compatible cartridge without any issue?

A3. Yes of course, simply replace your empty cartridge the same way and you will quickly discover the same quality but for a significant saving. Q4. Are any cartridges supplied by Data Direct infringing on any patented designs owned by the Manufacturer? A4. No, our full range of franking machine ink cartridges and ribbons do not infringe on any patented design set out by the manufacturer. Q5. Your cartridges do not look the same as the original, will it work?

A5. Yes of course, the original cartridge design is patented (ref Q4) therefore we supply a cartridge manufactured not to infringe on the patented design but to work perfectly. The products we supply are used all over the world and have consistently delivered quality results for over 8 years.

Q6. What if my franking machine develops a fault or the product is faulty? Do you provide a warranty? A6. Yes, we provide the most comprehensive warranty available. If in the unlikely event your product develops a fault, we will at our discretions either replace or reimburse your product in full; furthermore Data Direct will reimburse the costs relative to fixing your franking machine should a fault be proven to be caused by one of our products.
