DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM WITH SMS ALERTS thru wonderware INDUSOFT

SCADA as per our one of reputed Customer in Pharma sector for a to monitor the status of DG

SETS, CHILLERS , AC's along with their DATA CENTRE Temperatures.

The system configured to display ON & OFF status of DG SETS, CHILLERS & AC systems. Also provided to monitor the Temperatures of their DATA CENTRES and generate Alarms with consequent intimation to the Higher Authoroties via SMS whenever DATA CENTRE temperatures exceeds / falls below as per their required set points.

A provision was made to monitor the power failure by providing a feedback from ACB of the incomer. Alarms screens were designed in each of the screen for immediate notice of the operator. Security was enabled for the system which allowed only authorized operators to login to the system and monitor. Each user was given separate rights so that only Managers or Higher Officials, who have a better understanding of the system, could configure the set points of the alarms. Navigation buttons were provided at the bottom of the screen that gave access to the user to other screens to monitor trends or view historical alarms.

The Data Center Temperatures were graphically represented so that the client could monitor the

temperature variation patterns to get a better understanding. Zoom option was provided so that

the client could zoom into particular period to monitor the temperatures precisely. Pen addition

feature was enabled for the customer so that he could monitor one or more temperatures for

better elucidation.

Authorization was enabled to give access to the set-points screen so that not everyone who had

logged in to the system could configure the operational set-points and that only higher officials

who have been authorized by the company could configure the set-points.

The alarms screen gave the information about online as well as historical alarms. Online alarms

give information about the present alarms (acknowledged or unacknowledged) while the

historical alarms gives a list of alarms that have been generated over a certain period of time.

The phone numbers that have been configured in the system were displayed on the screen

along with the messages stored in the database concerning to the alarms. These messages were

stored in the database storage files created by MS Access software, which forms an integral part

of the system.

System Requirements

A typical SCADA Systems would need

1. A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that controls the process as per the set

instructions fed into it. This provides an input to the SCADA System.

2. A desktop computer system that provides a graphical user interface with enhanced

graphical visualization to the operators, for better understanding of the process along

with supplementing them with accurate process values.

3. Reliable SCADA software (Indusoft Webstudio Ver 7.1).

4. A GSM module(for SMS Alerts)

5. A registered SIM card of a reliable network with good connectivity.

6. Licensed Microsoft Access software for data storage.
