Productivity And Compliance Enablers
PACE is a robust reporting solution embedded in SAP that gathers information from GPD/MRP/Projects and assembles the information in an easy to use reports.
PACE is an SAP Partner solution. Same code base using the same infrastructure. It is delivered as a simple transport into your current SAP landscape.
If you are already using GPD, PACE will “just work”. Very little configuration. Up and running in just a few weeks depending on you customization in GPD.
PACE reporting is FAST. It was developed with the latest and most efficient development techniques.

What is Dassian’s GPD PACE?

Why Dassian’s GPD PACE?
February 13, 2015
PACE was developed to complement GPD allowing customers to easily explain the GPD cost postings on the final cost objectives: “where the money is going” and “why it is going there”.
PACE simplifies audit-ability of GPD (DCAA, DCMA, Internal audits).
PACE demystifies the results of GPD pegging. You can easily walk up the BOM tree to the end-item WBS element.
PACE keeps up with history. You know with certainty that billed costs are tied directly back to your project with visible links from the lowest BOM item to the end item.
PACE provides detailed information for regulatory reporting. You will know the cost of inventory at any point in time and much more.

Dassian PACE GPD Reporting Module
ULA SAP processes are wbs element and cost focused.
Created multiple ABAP reports to gain insight into how material
transactions and associated replenishments link to their wbs
elements and cost.
Custom GPD reports took years to develop and accuracy was
always in question.
PACE gives us one source of the truth for all GPD costing data.
One PACE report can be trusted to see an organization view of all
exceptions: excess, scrap, and lost & found. This will allow ULA
to start retiring these custom reports.

Dassian PACE GPD Reporting Module
PACE is better able to support DCAA audits accurately and
quickly
– PACE ties each source document back to original posted costs
–With one PACE report you can see all inputs into a subassembly
(without manually clicking into each PO to add them up)
Before PACE, one cost accountant expended up to 1 hour of time
per material/replenishment to gather cost information in support
of an audit.
– Cost accountant would execute up to 6 SAP transactions/reports to
manually mine and understand the data. PACE answers the audit cost
question accurately in 2 minutes.
Estimated savings of 50+ hours per cost accountant per each
routine audit.

PACE value drivers:
Better visibility into how plant stock fits into the BOM and how it
links to the replenishment objects.
Enterprise visibility across plants and group wbs elements.
Better visibility into the demands and sources of supply.
Quick ability to view a cost rollup by network order or rocket tail #
and all related components.
Used to take hours of data mining and now we get accurate
information in seconds. PACE has powerful report booster for quick
analytics.

Dassian PACE Implementation
Implementation Highlights
Project duration 4 months
Upgraded GPD pegging program (RPEGALL2) with individual SAP notes
rather than thru a full support stack. Need to be running RPEGALL2 to use
PACE.
GPD solution is very standard. Little customization in pegging BAdIs, don’t
use breakpoints, etc.
Most of the project time was spent testing and gaining expertise in the
various reporting capability thru knowledge transfer sessions with Dassian.
Critical to have testers fully engaged to understand how to run the reports,
drill into deeper detail, and analyze the data.
Each test group has different requirements. It’s important to start with the
most relevant and simple reports and graduate to more complex reports.
PACE offers an easy option to extend most reports or add additional fields

Lesson Learned
If SAP is run on multiple application servers, make sure to test
PACE processes and report booster functionality in a multiple
application server environment.
PACE is reading and writing a lot of data. Users will have quick and
efficient access to big and complex data. Form a subject matter
expert group to roll out PACE to the organization. Quicker adoption
of PACE to the enterprise and the users will take ownership of
PACE and not IT.
