Sehr geehrte Fussballfreunde,

Beste Sportvrienden,

Dear Friends of the round ball,

Na het vorige Lunatics-toernooi zei de Voorzitter “En nauw noejt

nie mier” en wie op de dubbele negatie let, ziet dat we woord

gehouden hebben. Toen vorig jaar bekend geraakte dat de vrienden

van het Zeezicht eraan dachten om een voetbalfestijn op de

Ponderosa op het getouw te zetten, sprongen de Tikkies maar al te

graag mee op de organisatiekar en nog voor het denderende

Dünsbach-evenement achter de rug was, waren de voorbereidingen

op Tous Ensemble al begonnen. Enfin, van de naam waren we toen

al zeker. De rest was kinderspel, goed voor de kas van De Vlaey en

een mens leerde eens iets bij over het online delen van

documenten. Takenlijsten invullen was gewoontegetrouw weer net

iets moeilijker, maar we leven in goede hoop dat alles vlot

verloopt. Geduld is een mooie deugd en zo lang we alles

brandveilig houden en onze broek niet scheuren, zijn we al content.

Over “content” gesproken, zie hiernaast en blader vervolgens eens

door dit boekje. Het loont de moeite. Al zeggen we het zelf.

though. He’s not coming. Both Zeezicht and Lunatics have got 30

candles in front of them and if it wasn’t such a fire hazard, we’d

literally blow them out at the Ponderosa. Anyway, you are all very

much welcome, maybe even a little bit more than usual, because if

anything has shaped our past, it has been you, you and you. You

know who you are. And you too. Not U2, they’re not coming, but

The Kids are, and The Internationals. That’s two absolute top

bands for you. Enjoy the football, have a nice meal and a stiff

drink, and sleep well after you danced yourself senseless at said

fantastic shows. If you enjoy this program as much as you like the

tournament, then all will be well.

Turnierheft mal ruhig durch, vielleicht macht es das Leben auf dem

Ponderosa noch einfacher als es bereits ist. Auf jeden Fall wird ein

Do’s and don’ts

Wat kan/mag en kan/mag niet? a) In Princyprus kan en mag alles dat niet indruist tegen de goede Lunatics/Zeezicht-zeden, m.a.w. doe waar je

zin in hebt, maar rij niet tegen onze kar. Roep, tier, brul, drink, smoor, vrij, eet en geniet en vooral: amuseer

je. Racistische uitlatingen worden niet getolereerd, dat is zowat het enige waarvoor een 100% nultolerantie

geldt. Het Lunatics/Zeezicht-toernooi is er voor iedereen, laat iedereen er dan ook van genieten.

b) De hond is de beste vriend van de mens, zegt men wel eens, maar op een toernooi waar toch zo’n 500 mensen

worden verwacht, zien we liefst niet ettelijke tientallen viervoeters vrij rondlopen, de keuken doorploegen,

ballen kapot bijten of vriendschappelijk in mannelijke/vrouwelijke/kinder-benen happen. Denk dus aan een

leiband of laat het beestje eens een weekendje thuis of bij vrienden.

c) Vuur is volledig uit den boze. Geen kampvuur, geen barbecue op de camping of in het bos. De Ruige

Heide is een mooi stukje natuur, maar bijzonder brandbaar. Help dus mee om dit zo te behouden, doof uw

sigarettenpeuken in de speciaal daartoe bestemde emmers. De Lunatics/Zeezicht-milieupolitie zal hierop

nauwlettend toekijken.

Was ist bzw. was ist nicht erlaubt? a) Normalerweise ist alles erlaubt was nicht unvereinbar ist mit dem “Lunatics/Zeezicht Way of Life”.

Rassistische Sprechköre und dergleichen werden absolut nicht toleriert, dafür gibt es wirklich eine 100%

Nulltoleranz. Das Lunatics/Zeezicht-Turnier ist da für jeden, also lass jeder davon geniessen.

b) Der Hund ist oft der beste Freund des Menschen, sagt man in Belgien, aber wenn man auf einem Turnier

etwa 500 Leute erwartet, ist es vielleicht keine gute Idee da auch nog zig Hunde dazu zu nehmen, vor allem

wenn die dann auch noch frei rundlaufen, die Küche besuchen, usw. Also bitte an der Leine führen oder wenn

möglich zu Hause bzw. bei Freunden lassen.

c) Feuer machen ist völlig ausgeschlossen. Auch kein BBQ (Barbecue) auf dem Camping-Platz bzw. im

Wald. Die “Ruige Heide” ist ein schönes Stückchen Natur und dass möchten wir gerne so behalten. Bitte

helfen Sie uns, und nutzen Sie die besonders dafür ausgeteilten Eimer um Ihre Zigaretten und dergleichen zu

löschen. Die Lunatics/Zeezicht-Umweltpolizei wird streng zusehen, ob das alles gut geht.

What’s possible and what is definitely not allowed? a) In principle, everything’s possible that doesn’t interfere with the Lunatics/Zeezicht Way of Life. So you can

shout, drink, eat, smoke, … whatever you want and - most of all - we want you to enjoy yourselves.The one

thing that is definitely not allowed is any racist chants or behaviour. For this there will be a 100% zero

tolerance policy. The Lunatics/Zeezicht tournament is there for everyone, let everyone enjoy it.

b) In Belgium there’s a saying that goes like: a dog is a man’s best friend. However, at a tournament where about

500 people are expected, it’s maybe not such a good idea to have an additional hundred dogs running around

freely, invading the kitchen and taking little friendly bites out of people’s legs. So, should you bring your best

friend to the Ponderosa, please use a leash. (We know that people usually don’t bring dogs from the UK onto

the mainland, because of the quarantaine rules, but we ask this question to all visitors, whether coming from

Lithuania, Germany or the UK).

c) Making fire is completely out of order, as is having a barbecue at the camping site or in the woods. The

“Ruige Heide” is a beautiful piece of nature and we would like to keep it that way. So please help us and leave

your finished ciggies in the special buckets. The Lunatics/Zeezicht Enviromental Police will keep a very close

eye on things.

Team Info

1 in 12 AFC

It used to be said that the 1 in 12 football team came from Bradford, West Yorkshire, being as it took its name from the members social club that still thrives there. However, all of its players have now fled the spiritual homeland, and now hail from Leeds, Halifax, Northampton, and Liverpool. Does this make training difficult? No, not at all! Anyone who has read chapter 1, page 1 of the book Unsexy Football (Hallowes 2001) will have read that immortal phrase, “never train with a ball, as it makes it easier to play without it in a real game”. This is a maxim that we have observed since we first visited the site of the Lunatics tournament in Antwerp, back in 1995. Another tradition established that year, and which thrives to this day, is the team schism. This is traditionally (i.e. always) based on the method of travel taken to get to a tournament. We thus have two categories of players: Category 1. Those who travel faithfully by rail for as much of the journey as is possible, irrespective of cost, journey-time, and aggravation, and Category 2. Those who are too poor, feckless, or lacking in self-esteem to be able to get on a train. As is only right and just, those in category 1 are handsomely rewarded by playing in the highly coveted defensive positions, whilst the latter are banished to the silent exile that is the opposition penalty area. On a serious note, one of our number Somali Carl, has worked with a number of refugees in West Yorkshire who have wanted to get involved with playing football. This commendable work was, we are happy to announce, made considerably easier by Carl winning a ‘substantial amount’ on the UK’s National Lottery; congratulations mate!! Another newcomer is the mysteriously named ‘Big-Dave’. As with all 1 in 12 players Big-Dave has an interesting back story. Having played for “Fat-Pot FC” in the Bradford Sunday League, he was scouted by Halifax Town, and played there at the same time as some bloke called Jamie Vardy! We don’t know what became of Jamie, but it is odd-on that he never played in the 1 in 12 defence. Finally, we hold in our thoughts those veterans of these tournaments that are no longer with us. In our case we think of Bod, our sadly missed quasi-goalkeeper and will raise a glass or two in his honour Many members of the 1 in 12 football team pose at Great Yarmouth station in July 2001. As many will immediately note the loco is 37285 and operated the Newcastle to Yarmouth, Saturday-only service. This was a traditional close-season move for many of us. Those present included: at the left Somali Carl and Steve Tonge, Dom (looking away from camera), Craig W (sunglasses) Matt H and Richard Hallowes (kneeling), and Rob Kito stood at the back. Abfahrt Bambule

The team `Abfahrt Bambule` was formed from the 3rd men’s team (now Fc. St. Pauli 8, www.fcstpauli8.de) in 2003. It was named in solidarity with the alternative living space `Bambule´ in St. Pauli which was depleted by the police in 2002. We played several times at the Mondiali Antirazzisti. About 10 years ago at the Flying circus in York, and the last 3 years in Brelingen, Dorset and Dünsbach. Now we are really looking forward meeting you all at Ponderosa.

ASV Filderstadt

Der ASV, der dieses Jahr sein 30-jähriges Bestehen feiert, ist ein bunt gemischtes Team verschiedener Nationalitäten, das in den letzten Jahren in Stuttgart-Kaltental sein Zuhause gefunden hat. 1989 in Filderstadt von Arbeitslosen und Arbeitern gegründet, blickt der Verein zurück auf eine abwechslungsreiche Geschichte mit Höhen und Tiefen. 2005 stand das Team mit einem überalterten Kader kurz vor dem Aus. Einige Jahre später war der Tiefpunkt überwunden. 2010 gewann man die Hobbyrunde Stadtliga Stuttgart und 2015 den Alternative Worldcup in Berendrecht. Heute hat das Team viele junge Spieler, aber es gibt auch noch die 40- bis 50-jährigen Haudegen, von denen einige schon 10-20 Jahre dabei sind.

Doch vor allem steht der Spaß im Vordergrund. Ob viel zu lange Flankenwechsel, fehlgeschlagene Hackentricks oder der riskante Querpass vor dem eigenen 16er: Wir kennen jede Spielform, jede Taktik, jeden noch so ausgelutschten Spruch. «Endlich mal mit Profis arbeiten!» antwortet einer auf die Frage, ob ein Doppelpass mit zwei Bällen gespielt wird. «Spielt der mir in meinen schwachen Linken...» nörgelt ein anderer. Aber natürlich wissen wir in Wirklichkeit wie's geht. So mancher Hobby-Kicker hat früher selber im Verein Fußball gespielt. Nur um sich dann beim Ruf «Abseits!» belehren zu lassen: «Wir spielen ohne!». Hinterher ist alles vergessen. Da zählt dann die Analyse des letzten Bundesligaspieltags. Oder schon vorher. Denn natürlich geht es bei uns nicht bierernst zu. Der Teamgeist steht im Vordergrund. Hobbyfußball at it's best. Berchem Tot grote vreugde van de totaal onbevooroordeelde wedstrijdjury (zie foto hieronder) mag Tous Ensemble naast St. Pauli nog een vertegenwoordiging van een andere Traditionsverein welkom heten. En voor wie hier aanstoot neemt aan het feit dat we daar als gediplomeerde vertalers geen Nederlands woord op kleven: in de taal van Goethe klinkt dat nu eenmaal veel mooier. Koninklijke Berchem Sport is Més que un Cultclub. Of de dames van Berchem daadwerkelijk iets te maken hebben met de legendarische club van Het Rooi, laten we hier in het midden. Wat telt, is dat ze erbij zijn en er mee voor zorgen dat we iets op poten kunnen zetten dat op een volwaardig toernooi begint te lijken.

Club statement

After a couple of turbulent years within the club here is an update.

The Club and it's members have been through a process of questioning what it means to be a Cowboy or

Cowgirl, what is it the club is and stands for.

As most of you know this has arisen out of the issue of having a Sun journalist as a member of the Cricket Club.

Each section (sport) in the club runs separately from the overall club with separate procedures, ways of

membership and constitutions.

To better deal with this and future issues a new constitution for this collective was agreed.

The Cricket Club felt that the new constitution didn't agree with who they were (as a distinct entity) and

proposed some changes. As the majority of these changes were rejected at an AGM the cricket club decided to

leave the wider organisation.

This means that there is no longer a Sun Journalist that is a member of Easton Cowboys and Cowgirls Sports

and Social Club.

Es freut Royal Zeezicht FC und Lunatics FC also unheimlich viel auch dieses Turnier erneut sagen zu können: Herzlich willkommen, liebe VertreterInnen dieses wunderbaren Vereins.

Hajduk Splint A quiet word with El ‘Nico’, Lunatics Treasurer, in Dünsbach 2018 followed by beers and brown envelopes created a

pathway to Europe that surpassed Sepp Blatter’s best achievements. So here we are in our birthday suits!

Made up of players and supporters from around the UK and Europe, Hajduk Splint takes its name from Hajduk Split supporters, Torcida, who are considered the oldest organised supporters’ group in Europe. They took their name from the Brazilian fan group they idolised, which comes from the Portuguese 'torcer' which means 'to cheer on'. "Hajduk lives forever" is their slogan.

Hajduk Splint formed in a pub in Bristol, UK in 2018; a group of middle-aged men who for many years played football together and frequented these international football tournaments. ‘Splint’ was added to account for our many bony aches and pains. However, soon after formation we were joined by three players’ sons and their friends. Maturity, youth and filial combinations gave birth to the Splints! An unknown quantity, we have a spread of youthful exuberance, excitement and effervescence, coupled with gnarled experience, anxiety and low tolerance levels for exuberance, excitement and effervescence. Let’s hope our central midfielder, anchor man and centrally aged war horse, Welsh Christ can pull us all together along with our sterling supporters, ‘The Splints’ who are our twelfth man. Our famous logo, ‘the sixth digit’ is an indication of our inability to offend and our beliefs in the eradication of decimalisation and the dozenal system implemented to assist banjo playing.

“We are Base 12, we are Polydactylies, we are Hajduk Splint” A massive thank you to all the Lunatics and Zeezicht people for inviting us and whoever else has helped with this tournament – The Splints.

Hammertime - Los Amigos - Real Hoek Unknown Quality – Noch nicht gefundenes Fressen – Tricolore vrienden

Drie Belgische ploegen met een dubbele lokale meerwaarde: * Ze zorgen ervoor dat er samen met de organiserende ploegen precies een kwart Eigen Kweek is * Voor onze buitenlandse gasten zijn het nobele onbekenden en dat is altijd leuk. Los Amigos is een (oude) bekende van zowel Zeezicht als Lunatics, Real Hoek kent Zeezicht en vice versa en is ook goeie vriendjes met de allercharmantste Wortel van de Lunatics blijkbaar, Hammertime kennen we via de altijd betrouwbare grootste plantrekker van het westelijk halfrond. Dat komt dus allemaal goed… Omdat ze goed zijn in alles behalve op tijd wat info over zichzelf aan de redactie bezorgen, zijn we zelf maar op zoek gegaan en kwamen we hier op uit. Zoals ze in het Duits zeggen: alle Info ohne Gewähr.

Hammertime

Hammertime is de ploeg van Piet Van Gorp en diens meest memorabele moment kwam op 30 september 2008, toen hij als speler van Mariaburg de tweede en meteen ook winnende treffer scoorde in de overwinning op Kaart. Wie het provinciaal voetbal volgt, weet dat “Kaart uit” altijd lastig is. In een vroeger leven speelde hij ook nog accordeon bij The Three Jacksons Virtuoos

Los Amigos

Volgens doorgaans goed ingelichte bron is het verre van zeker dat de naam van deze ploeg gebaseerd is op een spaghettiwestern, en dat is misschien maar goed ook, want zoals alle filmrecensenten het eens zijn: “The film looks terrific, but is often lacking in the story department.”

Real Hoek

Deze ongetwijfeld sympathieke ploeg uit Essen vierde in 2013 al zijn 25-jarig bestaan. Dat betekent dus dat ze maar liefst een volledig jaar ouder zijn dan Zeezicht en Lunatics. Dat verdient een pluim. Of ze net als in 2013 ook op Tous Ensemble met een dubbele trofee aan de haal gaan, valt nog af te wachten.

Gouden schoen en zilveren bal

ICE Neckarstrasse Guter Wein braucht kein Aushängeschild. Aber für unsere Freunde aus Stuttgart machen wir gerne eine Ausnahme. Seit der zweiten Hälfte der ‘90er Jahre gibt es eine ganz besondere Freundschaft zwischen ICE und dem Ponderosa, und zwischen den Lunatics und Steinhilben/Dünsbach/Gäching auf der Alb. Es freut uns, dass inzwischen auch die Leute von Zeezicht sich gut auskennen in Dünsbach.

ICE-Teambus fast so schnell wie ICE-Zug

Internationale Härte Guter Wein braucht kein Aushängeschild – Teil 2. Stimmt doch, nicht? Alles was wir hier oben über ICE gesagt haben, wiederholen wir gerne ein Mal für unsere Freunde aus Hannover. Ersetzen wir “Steinhilben/Dünsbach/Gäching auf der Alb” mit “Arnum/Brelingen/ Haßbergen am Pool” und wir erinnern uns wie gestern wie schön es war.

Frieden-Liebe- Fußball

Selbstverständlich gibt es die letzten Jahre einen ziemlich großen Unterschied zwischen Internationale Härte und ... ja, fast allen anderen Teams. Der typische Hannoveraner ist nämlich eine Reitpferderasse, die zu den stärksten Warmblutzuchten weltweit gehört. So ist die Härte sogar selbst kein Geheimfavorit mehr, man fragt sich eher: wer wird dieses Jahr 2er?

Republica Internationale (M/F) Apart from the Dales, pudding, terriers, tea, the occasional ripper and John Radford, Yorkshire has given humanity one of the loveliest football clubs in the world: Republica Internationale. For the Editor of this piece, our first acquaintance goes back to a T-shirt swapping competition at the bar of The Plough in Easton. Only 21 years ago, we reckon. Others will remember the Halifax MayDay event and the 2010 Alternative World Cup in York. Republica also don’t mind travelling a bit: Argentina, Chiapas, Palestine, … you name it, they’ve played it. At the moment of writing, we’re wondering how many players will turn up, but we’re sure they’ll be alright. As always.

Royal( e ) Zeezicht As many things, we are also accidently. It started th(d)irty years ago, at the bar, in Café Zeezicht (Est. 1977), when a football player of an unknown team asked “if ‘there aren’t any guys here available that want to participate in a tournament somewhere up north of Antwerp? We’re short on teams…” And so, a team was born. We won that tournament (so the legend tells) and after that we started in a competition, somewhere in September 1989. All the rest is history. Meanwhile we developed two teams in two different competitions, we have a girls team and a footsall team. We only respect three rules.

Skillful Scousers As Tournament Organizers, Royal Zeezicht FC and Lunatics FC are happy as a pig in the proverbial that the 6 Times Champions of Europe have promised to make an appearance at this year’s do at the Ponderosa. As the Liverpool FC squad is officially having a rest before getting ready for the 2019-2020 “after 6 comes 7” season, we can’t make too much noise about this. We hope you understand. But Jürgen Norbert Klopp and his lads will be there, albeit maybe in a 1960’s kit disguise. More Skillful Scousers Songs will be sung, beer will be drunk, fancy footwork will be on show, maybe they even make it past the quarter or semi finals this year (our Editor should know, really, but he might have had a few too many with these fine gentlemen himself).

Teutonia und Friends

Bereits 1986 von 11 fußballverrückten DDR Jugend - Bürgern gegründet, haben sich die Muskauer stehts dem Fußballgott und dem Fair Play verpflichtet gefühlt. Durch ihre unangepasste “nette“ Art haben sie vermutlich die Berliner Mauer 1989 mit zum Einsturz gebracht und das Ende der DDR eingeläutet!.… Früher von unseren Fußballfreunden unter dem Motto die “saufe und gewinne“ sportlich hart und erfolgreich spielenden Teutonen ist es in letzter Zeit zumindest fußballerisch ziemlich ruhig geworden. Alters und verletzungsbedingt treten sie diesmal mit einer etwas jüngeren “Rumpfmannschaft“ an und hoffen am Ende mit 11 Spielern auf dem Platz zu stehen. Der Fußball hat gezeigt wie man Grenzen überwinden und zusammen wachsen kann. Dafür sind die Muskauer sehr dankbar. Die Teutonen wünschen den LUNATICS und ZEEZICHT alles Gute zum 30jährigen Jubiläum und ne echt geile Zeit!!! Übrigens im Jahr 1452 bekam Bad Muskau das Stadtrecht und der berühmte Fürst Pückler Park ist mittlerweile Weltkulturerbe!

Op het moment van schrijven is het nog niet helemaal duidelijk of er deze editie buiten de 19 andere teams nog een wereldelftal gaat zijn. Dat weten we met zekerheid op vrijdagavond 5 juli, maar tegen dan is de deadline voor dit boekje al lang verstreken. In afwachting van verder nieuws roken we er eentje met de doelman van dit gelegenheidselftal. Will we or won’t we... have a World XI? Vrouwen / Women / Frauen

Play fair – kick some butt 1. We are running a pretty tight schedule, so please arrive well in time for your games.

2. There are 2 groups of 3 teams – in each group, every team will play each other on Saturday and

Sunday.

2x 15 minutes – no break (only sweat)

3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, zero for a loss

3. How do we decide who comes first, second, third?

i. Number of points;

ii. Goals scored;

iii. Goals difference;

iv. Mutual result;

v. Drinking contest.

4. After the group stages, the winners and runners up of each group proceed to the Semi Finals.

The teams ending in places 3 will face each other for the 5th place.

5. In the final stages, if a game ends in a draw, there will be a penalty shoot-out, with this simple rule

applying:

Player has the ball at the halfway line and has exactly 10 seconds to beat the goalie. You know the

drill.

6. We’re not looking forward to brandishing loads of yellow and red cards, so some alternative measures

will be in place for violent and/or all too mouthy behaviour. Racist remarks will be dealt with in the

most appropriate manner – exclusion from the tournament being the ultimate price to be paid (for

individual or team).

7. Any other questions – ask the Wise Men’s Table.

we gaan niet vertellen hoe deze spelers heten. Zelfs in het Texas van het Hoge Noorden hebben ze tinternet. Als je hem

weet, mag je hem invullen – da’s de bonusvraag, zeg maar.

It’s just too dangerous. We’re in the middle of a nature reserve here, and certainly if it has been very dry for quite some

time, the forest could be gone in just a few seconds. So absolutely no campfires!

And please, put out your cigarettes or whatever yer smoking INTO THE BUCKETS FILLED WITH SAND. They should

be handed out to all arriving teams, so please put a few of them between your tents, and use them! If you haven’t received

them, please go and ask someone of the organisers.
