    Letter from

Luciano Tortuga tothe Indomitablehearts 7 monthssince the attackfailed (Chile)

Luciano 'Tortuga', a young anarchistcomrade in his early twenties, risked his life

carrying out an explosive attack against abranch of Santander Bank in Santiago. Hesuffered a tragic accident which left himwith serious injuries. Now he has awokenfrom his coma into the jurisdiction of thepolice and family environment.

Note from the group of friends and lovers ofTortuga:

Publishing this letter, at this time, couldmean hellish punishment for our cub, butthe urgency to report from his wild

sweetness what he feels and what moti-vates him is sufficient reason to under-stand his desires.

Let us appropriate his writings to our-selves. Let us recreate, like so many times, complicity with the persecuted and theincarcerated inside and outside of thedamn prisons!!

Let us understand ourselves by simplylooking at ourselves and recognizingourselves: We are anarchists, insurgents,

informals, nihilists, enemies of all author-ity. Of all fucking authority.

Because we do not have time to restwhile they prevent us from feeling our-selves free.

    January 1, 2012 Santiago $hile.

7 months since the attack failedLetter to the Indomitable hearts

It is difficult to begin to write whenI know that I have so much tocommunicate and even more tokeep quiet; silence has become agreat companion, and not in vain, since my enemies want me tocommunicate, to explain myselfwith my ideas, to justify my illegalaction, so that they can to applythe anti-terrorist law and bury meeven in the condition in which Ifind myself, they want that trophyof war, a youth with many wounds, imprisoned for not having trickedhimself with the comfort of arevolution framed within politicalcorrectness. Powers ambition withmy trial is for the seora of thehouse to tell her little rebel thatthis is how idealists meet theirend, those who dare to dream, toeven think, that it begins with therebellion proper to youth and if itgoes unchecked it can end interrifying consequencesto justifyby means of my example theprison system, the repression forthe good of our children and thefuture.

I know that power wants that, or atthe least hopes for it, that in oneway or another I will appearpublicly, thus I preferred silence; Ithink that in these moments it ismuch better that others speak formemy comrades, known orunknown, just like in endlessevents for animal liberation, oneknows to speak for those whocannot, I believe that now thesame should happen, because I

sincerely think that other comrades, evenfrom different parts of the world havealready done this and have had splendidresults, not only with everything thatinvolves my morale, but also with every-thing that involves solidarity, which I woulddare to represent as the first piece of agreat row of dominoes, in which onepushes the first and the second pushes thethird and so on successively, where mymorale comes to be one more piece in thedominoes, in which there is also damage tothe system in breaking with its authoritarianlogic, the esteem that the action generatesas much on the individual level as collec-tively, as well as representing another seatin the conflict with reality, and one couldspend days like this numbering the differ-ent effects that a solidarity action canhave.

Nevertheless, as much as my enemieswant me to communicate, I know that manycomrades also wanted me to, and youshould know that I know this and Im sorryyou had to spend several months ofuncertainty to receive any news, I pro-foundly regret not communicating myself inthese circumstances, it was I who always

stressed that solidarity should be recipro-cal, and believe me that more than anyoneI regretted not having acted sooner, I feltthat I was betraying myself in being silent.Does it make him uncomfortable that weact in solidarity with him? I speculatedthat you thought this in interpreting mysilence, but I have a small and beautifuldaughter who needs her pap, and Icannot betray her either. She moved me tosilence, my ideals move me to dialogueand you my forever comrades incite me tothe point in between.

I do not like to write without thinking what Iwant to convey and to be fully understood,to write something in my situation merits aprofound reflectionis it worth it? Since in

my case, unlike the majority of politicaltrials which are usually frame-ups, inmy case it is proven, since I really didtransport a bomb the morning of June1st with the destination of the bankbranch located on Av. VicuaMackenna and Victoria, downtownSantiago.

For my part, I wanted to tell everyonewhy the attack failed. How could I tryto communicate myself and ignoresomething so relevant? Or even, Whythat bank? To politicize an anti-capitalist attack is not only to advocatefor the violence, it is also to put thenoose around my neck, and as for that,Never!, because as long as I am alive Iplan to continue fighting, it doesntmatter to me if Im short some fingers,a hand, my hearing or sight, I willcontinue forward at all costs, that is

something that my enemies have toknow as much as my comrades.

Then you ask me to break with theisolation, with the hermitism aroundme; I posit that I would be ashamed tocommunicate myself, to do so simply,to which you respond with a blow tomy conscience, And your comrades?Do I think that communicating with youis something banal and unimportant? Its true, I dont need to vomit outeverything that happened that night, I

believe that in the future there will betime for that

So, you want to know about me? Well,I will fight in order to live, and live inorder to fight until being free and wild, Ido not trick myself in thinking that I amless wild if I breathe artificially or not, because I believe that it is in situationslike that when the most wild humaninstinct blossomsthe instinct ofsurvival; Im not trying to allude toanyone in particular, because I know

that many comrades desire my deathwith all the best, but I want to fromhere deliver a lesson for everyoneonecannot desire the death of a comradeto free them from their body, unless ofcourse the comrade manifests it, but ifthat were the case, the person wouldseek the means to put an end to theirlife, without thus generating a judicialcase (homicide) for a third party.Because what would happen if to dome a favor they had killed me? Whoare they who call themselves my

comrades to judge whether or not itsworth the pain for me to keep living? The only one capable of taking such adecision is the individual, only heknows what he really desires, and inparticular I want to keep living, in orderto continue fighting.

On other other hand, I want you toknow that I appreciate all andevery one of the solidarity actionsthat you have done with me, thebanners hung in different parts ofthe world or those messages thatcarry the same solidarios reach myears in one way or another, eachleaflet, each counter-information

bulletin, each space of your livesthat you dedicated to me I keep asa treasure, know that I have beenaware of everything, that in thisworld there are not words for myfeelings of gratitude, becauseeach bombing, each arsonorganized in my name is in mymind, I can never forget thevaliance of my Mexican com-rades, the insubordinates whohave made themselves mycomrades in Greece, I wish to

embrace the savages of Boliviaand the US, affectionatelysaluting the rebels of Spain andItaly, the libertarixs of Argentinatake heart!, not to mention theiconoclasts of Indonesiastrength, comrades! To theanonymous of the ALF and ELF inRussia and in the world. To theimprisoned comrades across theworld, I send all my care in thesehumble letters, to the comradeTamara, prisoner in Mexico, to

Gabriel Pombo Da Silva, prisonerin Spain, to Marco Camenisch, prisoner in Switzerland, to thealways dignified comrades ofthe Cells of Fire, how I envy yourcourage, and of course to mycomrades of the territorydominated by the state of $hile,to you who I knew in person knowthat I carry you in my hearteverywhere I go, I have never beenseparated from you because Icarry you in my smile; I know that

in a letter I could never thankeveryone and each one of theactions I hope that it is understoodthat I do not intend to exclude anyone, the forms in which you havebeen in solidarity with me aremany and as diverse as the samestruggle, from illegal actions toactivities to telephone calls, internet messages, and libertariansongs; finally I want you to know, each and every one of yousolidarious rebels that this loco for

freedom will Never, never forgetyou, you were known to be asgreat as skyscrapers and to strikewhere it hurts, and above all, youmade the stars shine with yourcourage, and that is somethingworth imitating.

I would like you to know what thesolidarity created for me in those dayswhen nothing made sense, whenlearning to remake my life did not makea bit of sense, because you know I wasdoing poorly, what happened to me Iwould wish on very few people becauseit was horribleand in the greatestdarkness there appeared small gestures

that pushed me to not give up. Howcould I betray those who risk their livesto give me encouragement? And Ilearned to conquer life anew; I knowthat you will never know how importantyou have been. Now I find myself asstrong as ever; prison, far from intimidat-ing me, has made me as strong as inthose days; life is paradoxical, because Ialways said that to have comrades inprison should never motivate one to fear, entirely the opposite it should be thereason for the wick in the bottle of

gasoline, for the fuse in the explosive orincendiary charge, for the smile in theinsurgent hearts after each day ofattack, this I believed before and I stillbelieve it, and now I am the one whofinds himself a prisoner, so if my en-emies do not succeed in intimidating mewhen I find myself in their clutches I seeit will be difficult for them to do so withmy comrades.

I plan to confront the prison in the sameway that I confront societywith dignity

and happiness, never in a submissiveway, to, as has been said before, makethe prison combative. I tell you that I amin the hospital section of the Santiago 1prison, here there is a regime similar tothat of the maximum security module ofthe high security prison, but without ayard, without radio, without TV, with oneweekly visit of at most 2 people andwith the risk of catching the illnesses ofother prisoners; the room is shared andis larger than a cell, around here theycall it the crazy prison, because to

spend much time here is enough todrive you crazy, although I am of theopinion that what does not kill youmakes you stronger, also as they sayaround here, we crazy ones are thosewho have the most beautiful dreams. Itell you that I do a lot of exercise torecuperate the musculature I lost, I singa lot, especially the songs that nobodylikes, I write letters to my little baby girlevery week, sometimes when I have aroommate I play chess or we talk, generally the prisons have much care

for me and help me a lot. I rigorouslyfollow my rehabilitation treatment and Itry to give myself encouragement wheninformation from the outside is scarce;also I have proposed many projects tomyself, I am already working on some,

others are for when I have completedmy sentence.

I think that a rebel becomes a warriorwhen one is able to get back upstronger than one fell, who is able tosee a reality even though one haseverything to lose, a warrior does notnecessarily have to know how to make

a bomb or handle one, nor to havetechniques of camouflage, these arethings one learns by addition, warriorsare dangerous for their ideas andprinciples because they see all the wayto the final consequences, always firm, steadfast, because they donot betray themselves northeir comrades, because theyare always aware, becausethey dont let themselves becarried by fuck-ups or rumor, because if they have problems

they confront them, if they feelpain they cry, and if they arehappy they laugh; becausethey know to live out a full life, though it will not therefore bepeacefulthose are the truewarriors; now in this war thereare many joyful occasions, butthere are also moments ofbitterness, because it is a war,not a juvenile phase, and toconfront the system ofdomination utilizing these

conclusions can carry disastrousconsequences and we should knowthat beforehand, because an error, asmall carelessness changes everything,I always say this and this I had under-stood, therefore I acted according tothe terms that I used. Regarding mywounds, they have all healed, unfortu-nately the marks will always remain butI carry them with the same pride as mytattoos, because they are the bestevidence that I am convinced in myidealshow could I not be? I carried

that bomb with dreams and hopes andthose remain intact.

On the other hand, I regret beingunable to keep carrying on in theprojects that I participated in, under-standing that for me there was nonethat was more valuable than another, each and every one means a contribu-tion to the social war and I yearn thatthose projects do not go adrift becauseI am not around, on the contrary Ishould be another motivation to

continue forward, I know that I am notabsolved of criticism, because if Iformed part of those dreams I shouldhave acted not at 100% of caution, but at 150%.

I am sure that my example willclose one more chapter and thatthe new and not-so-new combat-ants will know to rescue thepositive from all this, because thestruggle continues and there aretoo many hearts that do not fit inthis authoritarian world and wantto open a path, because we did it

in the past we know how to do soin the present, personally I make agood balance of the anti-authori-tarian struggles in the world, oneor another diminishes but gener-ally the prognosis looks good.

But as much as the struggleadvances, the repression will too,and my case will be utilized toreopen the pathetic bombs caseframe-up, therefore I make thesuggestion to be alert, never toinaction but rather to caution, because my self-criticism can beapplied by all, the idea is to shareit, nor do I say this as certainscience, it is speculation, perhapsthey do not intend more frame-ups

for fear of looking ridiculous again,or maybe theyll flush down thetoilet everything in which whichmy deed is accredited, so the callis to be well awake, with all 5senses in the street.

To end I want to dedicate somefinal lines to that person whotraveled with me in the early hoursof June 1st. Hermanitx,* I knowthat my accident must havemarked you, perhaps you spend

nights without sleeping, in theuncertainty of daily life, Will theyfind out it was me? Will theynotice me? Will I wake up tomor-row or will I have died in mysleep? Will I be betrayed?

I remember that once I told you thatdespite the deep hatred I feel towardthe wretch who stabbed hiscompaera, I also believed to under-stand it one should be in a similarsituation, to see if we are as strong aswe say, because I have always believedthat betrayal is an internal enemy. Now I can tell you with certainty that

that little guy has no balls! I alsoremember that before going out to thestreet that night I told you that I wasgoing without my Kabbalah, a totallymeaningless thing, something that I feltgave me luck, you told me that I was

crazy for believing in suchthings, luckily I brought my otheramulet, I am still alive and nowwe can laugh about thatnonsense. Hermanx, I want youto know that although I couldnever imagine the horrible things

that have played with your mindor your heart, I continue to bethe same little turtle who smellslike feet and sleeps on the floorand I am never going to have toreproach you for anything, because that night it was myturn, just like in past times it hadbeen your turn, if somethinghappens the second personflees, so we had agreed and soit had to be, because althoughyou might many times feel like a

traitor, you are not, in this war that wedecided to take on there are no wordsto understand us. I may never see youagain, if so, good luck in everythingthat comes.

I said it once and now I say it againwith pride: Never defeated, neverrepentant! From here I send a warmembrace to the people who walk inclandestinity.

    With Mauri present in memory!

Prisoners at war to the street!

    Against all authority!

    Walking toward the creative nothing!

exploding fireworks, in Bremen over 100comrades held a rally in front of theprison with fireworks and firecrackers, asamba-noise band was also present.

In Freiburg, about 60 comrades took thestreets for an unregistered demonstra-tion against prisons, held speeches andexploded fireworks, finally throwing

some pink paint at the prison main gate, while in Cologne 150 people in solidar-ity gathered in front of the prison, heldspeeches in several languages, madenoise and a pyrotechnic show.

In Stuttgart, 350 comrades demon-strated at first in the innercity under themotto No justice no peace! Fightclass justice! For a revolutionary 2012.Later on about 150 of them gathered infront of the well-known jail ofStammheim, where also some Kurdish

comrades are imprisoned at the mo-ment.

There has been a good communicationwith the prisoners because the com-rades have been quite loud, they heldsome banners and flags and againexploded the beloved fireworks. Flyershave been also distributed in thepostboxes of the houses located in thedistrict where the prison is built, in orderto inform the inhabitants about theaction and its reasons.

In Hamburg some comrades decided tohost a non-registered protest at thelocal judiciary prison on the 30th, sincethey were fed up with the increasedrepression undertaken by the copsduring the last new years eve at theprison: that is why they walked as aspontaneous demonstration there, carrying a banner reading freedom forall against all walls, exploded fire-works, screamed slogans and threwpaint against the prison entrance and of

of its surveillance towers. They dispersed as soon as the policecame.

In Frankfurt, some people decided tobegin the new year under the banner ofdirect action and attacked two bankswith stones, set fire to some trashbins inorder to enflame some of the bankspublicity signs and attacked the policecars which came on the spot to end theaction. In the claim which they pub-lished they called for an insurrectionary

2012, let us bring the insurrection inthe heart of the beast.

In Dortmund, the Office for Order hasbeen attacked with paint and the

windows smashed with stones, toprotest against the growing socialcontrol in some city areas.

We are empowered by the growthof these moments of attack andsolidarity against any logic ofdetention, control and its enforce-ment by State authorities, in

Germany as elsewhere in theworld, as it has been the case thisyear through a wide range ofactions in front and againstprisons.

We salute all the rebels in anyprison of the world, those on therun and all those who decided tostand in solidarity with them, struggling day by day for a worldwhich does not need prisons anddetention centers.

For the spread of social revolt.

    UK: NYE Anti-Prison Demos

    Solidarity demo - Brixton prison,

south London : People met in thecentral square of the area andmarched up the main road (A23)to the prison. On the way somelocal people, a few with friends orbrothers inside, joined the demoand came with us to the prison, sothe number reached about 80,very encouraging for the first timesuch a demo has been called hereat new year in recent times, withmany fireworks, slogans and fliers.

We saw in the new year alongsidethe prisoners. We made it to reachthe main yard, where we did ourbest to make as much noise aspossible, shouting and banging onthe corrugated metal gate. A fewof those of the 700 being heldinside this murky dungeon wereable to see and hear us andshouted down from behind thebars. Slogans were sprayed on thewalls, and barricades preparedwith burning bins. Our spirits

ignited, we sent our greetings toour imprisoned comrades andrebels everywhere in one greatcry: FREEDOM!

Cardiff NYE Prisoner Solidarity NoiseDemo : At 10:00 on the evening ofnew years eve, over 20 peoplemarched to Cardiff prison. As thecrowd got into position and began tochant over and under the sound of airhorns, whistles, megaphones andvarious noisemaking implements; alarge banner was dropped from the top

story of a multi-story carpark. Thebanner read ''FOR A NEW YEARWITHOUT PRISONS: FREEDOMFOR ALL!'', and faced directly towardsthe cell windows of the prisoners.

There was an overwhelming reactionfrom inside, with prisoners banging onwindows, yelling, chanting with oneanother, dancing and even setting firesin cells and dropping flaming objectsout windows. A mixture of politicalmessages and friendly banter contin-

ued until the cops showed up at about11:20pm.

There was a standoff for 15 minutesafter the cops threatened to makearrests if the demo continued. Themood was lightened by the sound ofanti-police chants and slogans comingfrom behind the prison walls. Thedemo moved on making more noise atvarious points around the perimeter ofthe prison. To avoid arrest, the groupmoved on for a few minutes before

returning at midnight to make morenoise in solidarity and to wish theprisoners a happy and free new year.

Gatwick Airport - Solidarity demosoutside Brook House & TinsleyHouse : As part of the New Year's Evesolidarity demos outside prisonsaround the world a flash-mob ofaround 30 No Borders activists visitedboth Brook House and Tinsley House'detention centres' at Gatwick yester-

day afternoon, bringing a soundsystem, banners and chants, whistlesand pan lids, to wish prisoners a newyear of freedom in 2012.For about two hours protesters ofdiverse backgrounds danced, boomedradical hip hop from around the worldfor the detainees, and shouted theirmessages of anger and solidarity tothe people held prisoner for the only'crime' of holding the wrong papers, ornot holding any... Even some copswere witnessed tapping their feet &

nodding their heads to the beats.Gatwick police had promptly at-tempted to question and block thecrowd from getting to the prison, butfinally had to give in and let protesters

    go ahead.

After an hour or two of noise, theprotesters were however blackmailedinto leaving after the police refused tolet visitors into the prison while theywere there, although the protest was byno means blocking the road or en-trance. Despite the small delay caused

to their visits, and attempts by thepolice to cause division, the visitors wespoke to were really pleased we werethere and thanked us for showingsolidarity with their friends and relatives.

The police presence was seriouslyoverkill, with some armed officers, up to10 police vehicles, a FIT/evidencegathering team (EGT), plus airportsecurity vans - all for 25 protestersdancing to KRS One's sound of thapolice. The protest finished around the

time of the expected visits, but man-aged to bring noise and comrady voicesto the many inside. The protestors werethen chaperoned by a police convoy allthe way through the airport compoundand into the train station. As they gotinto the airport there were clusters ofcops and airport security or evidencegatherers/FIT waiting for them on everycorner just to make sure they didn't doanything else naughty on our wayhome...

HMP Bristol NYE Prison SolidarityDemo : The evening started with agroup of 20-25 people marching upGloucester Road, Bristol to HMPBristol in Horfield. They arrived at theGolden Lion Pub at 11.20pm andbegan to circle the outside of theprison. Once the group had reachedthe other side of the prison whereinmates could see and hear the groupthey stopped.

Happy New Year and Fuck the

Screws was chanted over the walls.Fireworks were fired into the prisoncourtyard. People then climbed up ontoan outer wall and made noise by hittingthe fence with hands feet and rocks.

Around midnight the first police vehiclearrived with 2 officers who came overto talk to the crowd. Everybody stoodtheir ground and the soundsytem wasthen led away from the police toprevent them from nicking it. Anotherpolice vehicle then arrived with 3 more

officers who quickly came over to thetwo other officers who by this time weresurrounded, whereupon without warningthey began to pepperspray people inthe face and take people to the groundwith batons in their hands. During this

time more police vehicles arrived.A few people were hit with batons. Some stood trying to de-arrestothers and support their mateswho had been pepper-sprayed.Once the majority of the peoplehad realised that the police hadtaken control of the situationpeople decided to remove the

soundsystem and themselves fromthe area. People got away but 4were arrested. Each arrestee hadan individual vehicle to them-selves.

As people were retreating shoutsand banging (presumably frominmates) could be heard fromwithin the prison walls, and thefloodlights and hall-lights all lit up.

At the moment all the arrestees

are out. One person was releasedcharged with assault of a policeofficer, one was charged withobstruction of a police officer, oneperson was charged with variouscrimes including assault on apolice officer, section 5 andcriminal damage to a police videocamera (which would hold evi-dence to the whole situation), thelast person was held until lateevening on the 1st of January2012 due to not complying with

the police. They all have uncondi-tional bail.

People heard at the police stationthat there was a backlog of arrestsbecause trouble had flared at anew years free party which theofficers said theyd had to retreatfrom because of the large num-bers of ravers they faced. Peoplestood outside Trinity Police stationuntil all the 4 arrestees werereleased the next day.

Holloway Womens Prison - London :Up to 100 people took part in a solidar-ity noise protest at Holloway women'sprison and young offenders' unit. Theiraim was to highlight the recent spate ofdraconian sentencing on protesters andothers, and to contrast the injustice thatpolice and bankers are allowed to gofree despite committing much greater

crimes. At 4pm a small crowd began togrow outside the prison gates in northlondon. their large banners and bicyclesound system gathered interest and theoccasional hoot from passing vehicles, and there were leaflets for pedestrians.as the crowd grew to a few dozen, apolice van arrived. it was difficult tohear the cops over the megaphonechants and music, but they were askingwho was the organiser. it seemed eitherthe organisers didn't hear, or hadn'tturned up, because no-one answered.

the cops shrugged, got back in the van,and drove off. By now there were closeto a hundred people and they set offinto the grounds of the prison and roundto the military-style back gates. Fromthere, we could see prisoners at thewindows, and we heard them shoutingand asking us to raise the bannershigher so that they could see them. thisgot a huge cheer. After a while, policearrived with a prison guard, but againgot nowhere asking to speak toorganisers, and once again left. A few

people took to the open mic. One wasthe mother of student Zenon Mitchell, who is serving a 15 month sentence forthrowing a flimsy stick and an emptycan at heavily protected riot police.Another was a campaigner for MumiaAbu-Jamal (held on Philadelphia's deathrow for more than 15 years despiteinternational cries for a retrialwww.freemumia.com). A trade unionactivist talked about the governmentattacks on workers leaving a goodimpression on the crowd, highlighting

the chilling effect that political sentenc-

Speakers, rappers andpoets highlighted the political andclass aspects of imprisonment, pointing out that the murderers ofMark Duggan, Ian Tomlinson and[reggae legend] Smiley Culture arestill free, that the bankers responsiblefor the financial terrorism that have

devastated our public services arestill getting huge bonuses, whilethose affected by the cuts arerepressed and criminalised forprotesting this unjustice. After theopen mic, there was another halfhour of noise protest. the soundsystem, whistles, pots and pans, andthe rather noisy high wire fences(when struck), all added to thecacophony. At 6pm the groupdecided to leave together just aspolice returned once more to check

the scene. The protest was supportedby 'Defend the right to protest'(www.defendtherighttoprotest.org )and the Legal Defence MonitoringGroup (www.ldmg.org.uk).'Defend the right to protest' were alsopublicising their 'twin with an impris-oned protester' campaign, whichencourages individuals, studentsunions, and trade unions, to buildpublic pressure for their release, andprovide support to their family andfriends.

Screws cars attacked at AshfieldPrison, Bristol : From IMC UK -On Weds 4th Jan we came out of theshadows and in broad daylightapplied ladles of paint stripper to 9cars belonging to screws at HMPand YOI Ashfield. This action was toavenge our prisoners of war; besides,we couldnt stand the sight of theplace. This prison was the first privateprison in the UK to incarcerate youth

prisoners. It is run by Serco (withother companies such as WessexWater profiting from the exploitationof a labour deal) and has a turbulenthistory of rioting, miserable condi-tions, and resulting disorder, thatalmost forced the public sector totake it back over in 2003. Maybeword will reach the inmates at thisalways tense time of year Dont letthe bastards grind you down!

And where then, the people say,

should these young people be if notin detention? In education ortraining as the liberals bleat, forcedto sit in lines day after day asboredom and surviellance break theirwills and destroys animal intelligence

to a level appropriate for thesociety that awaits them (anotherprison of sorts anyway)? Or in thenew workhouses or compulsorymilitary service, as the fascistsand the proud citizens (was thereever a difference?) demand, to bebrutalised and have their individualspirits worn away just as prison

aims? Or trapped in the suffocat-ing family structures that nowproliferate, hopelessly reproducingpatriarchy and obedience, as thepoliticians recommend?

Nonsense, dead-ends, trickery. Wewill not parley with this order onany of its terms.Interconnectedness, trust in co-existing and human solidarity canonly exist when the whole rottensystem that breeds their antithesis

is dissolved, whether by collapseor revolution. And until then wewill sabotage the machinery of thecages wherever we find them, remembering that WHOEVERPASSED BY THE FRONT OF ACOURTHOUSE OR A PRISONAND THEIR LOOK DIDNTDARKEN AT THE THOUGHTTHAT THEY COULD BE THEREAS THE CULPRIT, DID NOT LIVETHEIR LIFE WITH INTEGRITYAND DIGNITY.

Monika Caballero, GabrielPombo da Silva, Tamara HerasJohn Bowden, Jock Palfreeman,Braulio Gonzalez, Guido Mantelli these are not just names to us.We feel their separation, we sharetheir hate, we breathe theirpassion. So we attacked theirisolation with greetings over thewalls and distances that divide usthrough our own course of actionfor our own robbed freedoms.

In our minds are the captivesbehind these walls, but also everyother prison wall who have thecourage to resist and who dontlick the boots of their captors, such as those in Bristols HMPHorfield prison who were heardkicking, banging and singing Theonly good copper is a deadcopper on New Years Eve aspolice attacked the anti-prisondemo outside with pepper spray

and batons. Our attacking supportis also with Conspiracy Cells ofFirewherever they are, butespecially the defiant comrades ofthe imprisoned members sector inGreeces dungeons (despite a

recent break out attempt we wishyou better luck next time!), alongwith their upcoming second trial andtheir proposal for the formation of aBlack International of anarchistbehind bars. systems were also set up in two ofthe buildings with an anti-police hiphop/punk/dubstep mix which blastedout onto the streets. Anarchistslogans and symbols were sprayed onthe windows in the buildings and onbuses and banks in the streets below.

One of the locations from which wedropped 4 banners and set up asound-system was a 7 story officebuilding, chosen in solidarity withcomrades in the Occupy Sydney

movement who had recently squattedthe space for a week in an attempt tobuild a social centre.

A free library, a gym, a free school, arooftop garden and a free shop wereall being established when privatesecurity and a locksmith breachedthe first barricade. 5 comrades insidethen barricaded multiple doors andthe stairwell, dropped 5 banners andalso activated a loud sound-systemduring a 4 hour eviction by over 100

    police including the bomb disposalsquad.

The 4 banners we dropped from theevicted social centre readPROPERTY IS THEFT, DONTFUCK WITH US, VISUALISEINDUSTRIAL COLLAPSE andFIGHT BACK

We also selected a construction sitefinanced by ANZ to drop 2 bannersreading NO JOBS ON A DEAD

USA:Anti-Prison demosin many citiesThree Arrested at New Year's Eve NoiseDemo/Dance Party in Bloomington,Indiana : Around fifty people gathered atthe Occupy Bloomington camp inPeople's Park for a roving dance partyand noise demonstration outside theMonroe County jail. The party left thepark just before 11pm heading west onKirkwood Ave toward the square. Themood was festive as those dancing in thestreet traded greetings of "Happy NewYear!" with other revelers on the side-walks, in cars, and in windows overlookingthe square. Early on the dance party/march had the unwelcome escort by theBPD, though the flashing lights did add tothe celebratory atmosphere. It was thefirst time the cops have shown any realinterest in a march associated with"Occupy Bloomington" since the campwas established nearly three months ago.At this point they were mostly followingthe march and blocking traffic along theroute they assumed would be taken. Onlya few cars got aggressive towards thedancers, while most people were excitedto see such an unconventional method ofbringing in the New Year. Our numberswould occasionally swell as people on thesidewalks and in bars would run out to

join us for a minute before returning totheir regularly scheduled programs.

The march arrived at the jail at 11:30pmwhere more dancing ensued. At this pointthree or four police cars were blockingthe three-lane one-way street, one or twocops were parked at the other end of theblock, and a couple more patrolled thearea. Sparklers were lit and small fire-works were ignited. One comrade read astatement through a megaphone express-ing solidarity with those people lockedinside the jail and against this prisonsociety. It was inspiring to hear poundingon the windows from the inside as wecheered from the outside. Just beforemidnight a banner that read "Break YourChains" was dropped from the Hiltonhotel across the street from the jail. Thenat midnight huge 4th-of-July-like fireworksshot into the sky. People continued todance and cheer as the night sky was litup with thunderous booms and showers oflight. It truly felt like we were in control.

At maybe 12:30am the crowd danced upthe street a few blocks towards thenewest hipster bar in town, pausing alongthe way to watch another huge firework orfour shoot up into the air. Tourists and

abandoned building directly acrossfrom the Greek consulate and BeirutHellenic Bank was also chosen andwe left a banner in Greek which

translates as FREEDOM TO OURCOMRADES IN PRISON andanother reading FREE JOCKPALFREEMAN

An empty 18 story office building wasalso entered, from which we acti-vated our second sound system andhung 3 banners in solidarity with thestruggle of our indigenous comrades, reading DECOLONISE SYDNEY &SOVEREIGNTY NEVERCEDEDand 2 banners in solidarity

with the struggle of all refugees, reading NO BORDERS NONATIONS, & NO ONE IS ILLEGAL

Another 2 large banners reading NOWAR BUT CLASS WAR andNO MORE SILENCE ABOUTVIOLENCE with Anarcha Feministsymbols, were also dropped, but wereremoved the next day before decentphotos were taken.

We also entered the massive Griffiths

Teas building, owned by Isaac andSusan Wakil, property magnates anddirectors of Citilease Property Group, whove been sitting on numerousempty buildings for decades. Thebuilding is located directly acrossfrom the central office of the Austra-lian Federal Police and behind theenormous Surrey Hills Police Station, from it we hung an enormous bannerreading 2012 A NEW YEARSREVOLUTION: DESTROY CAPITALBEFORE IT DESTROYS US ALL,

--- Akin was held for 5 days aftergetting arrested at OccupySydney, then he receivedconditional bail. For that arrest hewas charged with two counts ofassault police with a weapon, twocounts of resist arrest, plus extracharges. After this he rejoinedother comrades at the Occupy

Melbourne site and was arrestedon the 19th November andcharged with hindering andobstructing two authorisedofficers. After receiving bail hecame back to NSW and wasarrested again on the 4th ofDecember on three new chargesand has been held in remand forover a month. He will face courtin Yass on the 16th of January forthe new charges. Akin is a braveand honourable comrade whom

revelers alike looked on from thesidewalks and hotel windows, fuckingiphones in position. Upon arriving at thehipster bar, our numbers swelled to wellover 100 and maybe 150 as well-groomed partiers came out to danceand be seen in the street. While thewhole scene was being closely moni-tored by over a dozen cops, it looked as

if they were going to let the party rideout and fizzle on its own accord. Butthat's not what happened. Last calldrew many back into the bar, and amuch small crowd made its way backnorth on College Ave. Somewhere inthe mix a bottle was broken on thesidewalk. Soon after that a pig-shapedpig jumped out of his car and tackled acomrade on the edge of the largergroup, punching him in the head as helay helplessly below the much largercop. People initially tried to pull our

friend back to safety, but were unsuc-cessful. This lead to verbal confronta-tions in the street between pigs andprotestors. At this point the crowd haddwindled and become more scattered.More cops, including university cops,BPD, and Monroe County, showed up.The march turned east on Kirkwood asfifteen cops or so followed on foot, ordering people out of the street. Bythe end, two more comrades werearrested during the confrontation. Thecrowd finally dispersed around 1:30am.

One comrade is being held on amisdemeanor with a $650 bond.Another received a minor charge andgot OR'd. The last person, however, isbeing charged with 4 D felonies, including 3 battery on an officer. Forsome reason his bond was set at $750,but was being held for 24 hoursanyway. We hope that by the end oftoday (Sunday) everyone will be out of

jail. This was not the first march sincethe dawn of "Occupy Bloomington," but

it was certainly the most confronta-tional and empowering. It will beinteresting to see the response from thecity government, who so far have takena largely ambivalent stance towards theoccupation. Last night's demonstrationwas refreshing to see in a town run byself-congratulatory and "enlightened"liberals of the Democratic Party andIndiana University, who have growncomfortable with the docility of theirconstituents. This resevoir isn't calm asit once was, and it's time to rock the

    boat.

Pittsburgh New Years JailSolidarity Demo SmashesCourthouse : On December 31stat midnight, 30 bodies gathered atthe Allegheny County Jail inresponse to an international callfor jail solidarity noise demonstra-tions. On this day, simultaneouslyin many cites across the world,

people gathered outside of prisonsto connect and communicate withprisoners held inside. The generalformula is to hold banners, chant, bang drums, and shoot fireworks. The message is clear; the demon-strators stand in solidarity withthose who transgress the con-straints of society. They stand onthe same side of the line as theimprisoned in the war of socialorder.

In Pittsburgh on this day someactor(s) broke out of the symbolicrepresentation of resistanceagainst prisons. Person(s)unknown materially attacked thePittsburgh Municipal Court-house, which is attached to thejail, causing 5 ground to ceilingwindows to be shattered. As themunicipal court operates 24 hoursa day, 7 days a week, this attackoccurred during the operation ofthe court amidst a full shift of

court clerks and judges. The police arrived in force withhandguns and battle rifles drawnand detained every member of thedemonstration. Apparently theattack was reported to the policeas gun shots fired into the court-house. It is believed by mostdemonstrators that this was aninaccuracy, but it has beendifficult to confirm or deny be-cause of the media blackout ofthis event. The demonstrators

were detained for two hours, frisked, IDed, photographed, questioned, and harassed. None-theless, it was impossible for thepolice to ascertain who wasresponsible for the attack and noone has been indicted at thetime of press.

We refuse to blame the one(s)responsible for this attack againstthe court for the actions of thepolice. We are disgusted by the

police daily, to hold us at the endof a gun and threaten us withprison is their unexceptionalpractice. It is always the policewho are our enemies and theyare the ones we hold culpable.

As those who are committed to thedestruction of all prisons, to escapingfrom all the external constraints ofsociety that prohibit us from actualizingour desires, we sing the highest praisefor the shadowy figure(s) who attackthe institutions of control.

For a thousand more attacks, the

destruction of police, the court-factorythat turns people into inmates, and everyinstitution and relation that inhibits usfrom actualizing our total potential.

Seattle, Wa: New Years Eve NoiseDemo at the Juvenile Detention Center: At 8:00 PM a group of 20 peoplegathered a little North of the JuvenileDetention Center. People stood andwaited till about 8:30 PM. Then beganmarching around the Detention Center

about 3 times, chanting Our passion forfreedom is stronger than their prisonsand cops and judges we dont need em,all we want is total freedomPeople litoff roman candles and M80s whileothers broke off the automatic parkinggates on both entrances to the JuvenileDetention Center. Paint bombs werealso thrown against the facade of theDetention Center and anarchist graffitiwas written on several surfaces..No police where around during this time. After the 3rd time around 15 people

eventually met up with 20 others whoarrived fashionably late and police finallystarted to appear. The group of peoplestopped near the cells of the JuvenileDetention Center on the South side andpeople began chanting, lighting off fireworks, and trying to communicate withthe prisoners inside. 3 of the prisonersbanged on the windows and yelled backI appreciate what your doing and Ilove you. Some people in the crowdbegan to talk back to the prisonersthrough a megaphone expressing their

love and solidarity with those locked up.As the demo was winding down one lastHappy New Year!was shouted andeveryone cheered while the remainingfireworks were lit off. After this manypeople dispersed without incident.

It's important to note that one comradewas arrested during the demo. As of nowwe are not sure what the charge will be,but we don't expect to be anythingserious. Jail support is already takencare of and we are awaiting their

release, which we suspect will besometime late tonight or early thismorning. Let's make 2012 the yearwhere their world ends and ours begins.

    Canada:

Reportback from Portland NYE jailsolidarity demo : A group of about 20folks, mostly in black, gathered outsidethe Donald E. Long juvenile detentioncenter at 1401 NE 68th Avenue inPortland. Several anarchist sloganswere spray-painted on the outer walls, including "Jail the guards, burn theprisons" and circle-A. We played an

anti-cop hip-hop and punk mix reallyloudly over our super awesome janky-ass bumping dance chariot (aka mobilesound system). Rupture which occurredincluded but was not necessarily limitedto:

-Kids inside pounded on the windows, danced to the music, and flicked lightsin cells on and off.-Graffiti on the outer walls.-Smoke bombs thrown over the walls-Martinelli's bottle thrown over the wall

(unfortunately neither the bottle nor thewall broke).-Roman candles set off.-Traffic was somewhat impeded for afew minutes here and there.-Unexpected solidarity from localresidents.-Spontaneous dance party on the trainhome after the demo.-"Guilty or innocent, free all prisoners"and "None are free while others live incages" banners were thrown over thewalls.

It should be noted that there wasalmost zero police interference.Jail the guards! Burn the prisons!

Oakland, California: Clashes occurduring anti-police demonstration; 6arrested : At approximately 9pm onSaturday, January 7, a 200-250 personanti-police march began at OscarGrant Plaza in response to the dozensupon dozens of arrests that haveoccurred over the past few weeks

during vigils at the plaza. The marcherswere able to reach the police station, but were greeted by a few hundredpolice. A few rocks or bottles werethrown at police, but the marcherscontinued to move on their way. Themarch zig-zagged down different roadsavoiding lines of police. A half an hourlater, police eventually blocked march-ers and prevented them from continuingforward. A small bonfire was lit in thecenter of the street around 30-50maway from the police line. The police

began moving forward to extinguish theflame and in that process blocked exitsof bars along the street. Police thencharged the crowd and tackled a fewindividuals and arrested them. Somedemonstrators were beaten with batons,

including observers. One demon-strator was shot in the face by arubber bullet. In total 6 werearrested. Police kettled the crowdat 9th and Washington for 15-20minutes. Police eventually gave adispersal warning and alloweddemonstrators to leave. The crowdthen regrouped at Oscar Grant

Plaza. Police appear to havetargeted specific individuals.Reportedly one BART train wasstopped and searched by policefor fleeing demonstrators. At leastone medic was arrested whilegiving medical attention tosomeone the police injured.According to the OPD pressrelease, [during] the march, protesters broke patrol vehiclewindows, vandalized a media van, threw bottles at the police, and lit

an object on fire at the intersec-tion of 8th Street and WashingtonStreet. As of 11:00 p.m., sixprotesters have been arrested.Offenses ranged from assaultingofficers, possession of explosives,resisting/delaying officers, andvandalism. One of the protestersarrested was in possession of anexplosive device described as aquarter stick of dynamite.

Vancouver : In the early hours ofdusk on New Years Eve, anarchistsmarched on the Burnaby YouthDetention Centre to show thoseon the inside are not forgotten bythose on the outside. We enteredthe prison grounds playing loudmusic and amplifying our voices. We walked through the gate andto the front of the prison complex.A short statement was read (this

was read at all our stops aroundthe prison) and anti-prison greet-ings yelled. Prison guards (screws)increasing in number, began toapproach and insist we leave theproperty - but didn't take anyaction except to inform us they'dphoned the cops. This detentioncentre is also where noise demo'swere held in the summer of 2010,when women and children amoungthe 492 Tamil refugees were heldcaptive after being were pulled off

the Sun Sea boat. Looking tomake contact with the prisoners, the march went back out alongthe outer edge of fence carrying abanner reading "Prisoners to theStreets" for the youth inside tosee.

A speaker stated we were also here toremember Ashley Smith, a 19 year oldwoman who died in custody in 2007. At15 years old, she was sentenced to onemonth for throwing a crab apple at apostman. She refused to comply withorders, was routinely beaten and took toself harm. After four years, she strangledherself while being watched by seven

guards. The prison and the screws killedAshley Smith. As the screws looked onsmirking, our chant followed; "SCREWS,PIGS, MURDERERS!"

We rounded the Northern perimeter intoa parking lot that brought us closer to theprison. Our music, anti-prison chants andgreeting statements were further ampli-fied as they ricocheted between thebuildings. Youth began to appear in thewindows, tearing down curtains, wavingand banging. Smiles broke across out

across our faces in happiness and rage. The experts of these institutions say thatprison 'fixes' the delinquent - but itdoesn't fix a society where peoplestruggle to survive, are taken away fromtheir families, or are born into a legacy ofviolence created by colonization and war.Police, including a K9 unit, began toarrive in numbers equaling our own.Parting cheers and chants were yelledand fireworks lit off as we started toleave the premises. The group of pigsentered the lot just as we were exiting.

    They looked like they were about readyto pounce on us but cooled down as weleft. They followed us for a few blockswhile our system blasted out the classicN.W.A. hit, "Fuck the Police".When one of the cops asked us what theblack flags meant, multiple comradesresponded;

    "They mean, 'Fuck Off!'"

We have no use for reform or discussionwith the tools of social control. Thecriminal justice system attempts to

create morally and socially 'corrected'individuals. The social and moral moresof this society: respect for privateproperty and authority, are imposedthrough discipline, punishment and thesofter coercion of social welfare. Thissociety has little to offer but continuedsubjugation and exploitation. Its time wetake our lives back into our own handsand fight back. Against all prisons andthe world that needs them!

Finland:Reportback from New Year's EvePrison Solidarity Demo in HelsinkiAround 30 anarchists gathered at theSrninen penitentiary in Helsinki onNew Year's Eve to make some noisein response to the Pelican BaySolidarity Network's call for interna-tional demonstrations of solidaritywith the struggle of the imprisoned. The demonstration in Helsinki lastedfor about 15 minutes during whichfireworks were shot above the prison, messages were sprayed and paintbombs and flares were thrown on andover the walls. The crowd dispersedbefore the police arrived. We organized this energetic andnoisy demostration to raise aware-ness about the connection betweenprisons and the capitalist social orderalso in the Finnish public sphere. Ourbanner read: "Solidarity with thoseimprisoned by the State and Capital".This was done to emphasize theanarchist notion of the prison systemonly serving the ruling class' purposesof securing its own place in thehierarchy and disrupting workingclass unity.

The so-called rehabilitatory role of theprisons was criticized in posters wewheat-pasted on the walls. Theposters declared that the only truepurpose of prisons is to dominate andpunish people, and that their"rehabilitatory" function serves only toreintegrate prisoners into the capital-ist society. We wish to send out ourwarm greetings to all prisonersfighting for their rights from Finland tothe United States and all around theworld. We also wish to contribute ourmethods to the discussion aboutsupporting prisoners' struggles andfinding new ways of working towardsabolishing the prison system.

prisons over the course of a 12-hournoise demo marathon!

The 14-vehicle caravan, loaded withdrums, warm clothes, 80 pounds ofdumpstered citrus and almost as manyfireworks, converged inPenetanguishene, Ontario in the earlyafternoon. Penetang is home to the

Central North Correctional Centrewhere over 1000 people are impris-oned, including three of our closefriends for their roles in the anti-G20protests of 2010. 60-70 anarchists,anti-authoritarians and other partypeoples marched on the jail to thebeat of a hip-hop-inspired noisebrigade through a thick blanket offresh snow. A single screw-cum-superhero met us near the entranceand attempted to pull off a one man,Gandalf-inspired, You Shall Not Pass

manoeuvre. Despite his admirablespunk, we had no choice but tohumiliate his efforts and carry on ourroute while he proceeded to bouncearound us like a grumpy chihuahua forthe better part of the march. Wedrowned out his wildly obnoxiousbarking with bursts of fireworks and achorus of chants expressing ourdisdain for prisons and police (On thecount of 3 say Fuck The Police:1,2,3..).

The silhouettes of inmates crowdingaround windows and banging their fistsgave fuel to the fires that burnedinside of us, and kept us warm as wemarched the perimeter and eventuallyexited safely through the parking lot. After bidding the chihuahua farewellwith a well-arched roman candle, wedispersed back to our vehicles. Policecruisers quickly blocked off both endsof the residential street wed parkedon, kettling in any cars that hadntalready split. After 45 minutes ofobnoxious flashing lights, ID checks, and groundless detentions (conspiracyto commit arson? Really?!?), we wereback on the road, on schedule, andready for round two.

The Maplehurst/Vanier prison complexin Milton is a fucking beast, with aperimeter that stretches on like adesolate Siberian highway. Webundled up for the long haul, carriedby relentless rhythms and the sweetsounds of militant megaphone poets.Midway through the fun, we were

joined by a few cruisers. One cop, seemingly confused by how drumstickswork and wanting in on the fun, sacrificed his fingers to the percussionbrigade after putting his hand on asnare drum. Oooops!

After a brief moment of confusion,we realized that we didn't muchcare for the police and continuedour march, snaking through theseveral police vehicles that hadlined up to intercept us. The womeninside Vanier were stoked to seethis, and nearly brought the prisondown by sheer force of excitement.Having learnt from our previousdemo, vehicles were parked insmaller clusters and only a few carswere pulled over and questioned. After a few run-arounds with thefuzz and several chauvinisticcomments (Why dont you growsome balls and take off yourmask?), we were back on the roadagain, still anatomically intact andon schedule.

Finally, we rang in 2012 with thethird annual Noise Demo outside ofBarton Jail (Hamilton WentworthDetention Centre) in downtownHamilton. We were joined by somenew and energetic peeps, andproceeded to unleash yet anotherextravaganza of funky-ass musicand glorious pyrotechnics. A fewbrave cats took the opportunity tobeautify the entrance sign with aspray-painted circle-A. This was theonly public noise demo of the day, with posters having been plasteredonline and around the Barton streetneighbourhood. It was also the onlydemo of the day in which we werespared the party-pooping presenceof uniformed thugs, save for onestray cruiser that didnt stick aroundlong. After an epic countdown, anda loudly proclaimed promise (Wewill be back!), many of us hit up anearby house party where a warmmeal and a line-up of DJs awaitedour arrival. Somehow, after a longday of marching and driving,Southern Ontario cats proceededto wreck the dance floor well intothe night, refusing to show it mercyuntil about 6am, January 1st.

We have since learned that in atleast one of the prisons, our actionshave spurred conversations aboutanarchism and solidarity withprisoners. Some of the prisonersinside the CNCC were told therewas a "situation outside", and wereinstructed to return to their cells forlockdown; at least two refused andwere taken to solitary.

Overall, the day was an overwhelm-ing display of passionate prisonersupport, inter-city organizing, andsheer fucking defiance.

Big ups to all the cities that held itdown! We pack cars like crownattorney Jason Miller packs feces. Inhis mouth. Because he eats it.

In the morning of January 10th, nearlytwenty members of the solidarity assem-bly for the case of Revolutionary Struggle(Epanastatikos Agonas, whose trial iscurrently underway) entered the corpo-rate radio station Flash 96 FM (flash.gr)

on Kifisias Avenue and interrupted thestations program, to transmit a messageof solidarity with those on trial.

Despite the fact that neither the stationsmanagement, nor its staff asked officiallyany police intervention, scores of police(DIAS motorcycle units, squads such asMAT, plainclothes cops, among others)soon arrived on the spot and encircledthe building. At about 14.00, after hoursof being blocked inside the radiosoffices, anarchists who took part in the

solidarity intervention were detained enmass and taken to the police headquar-ters on Alexandras Avenue: two prosecu-tors along with police squads stormed theradio station, forcing the comrades to exitthe premises; all were handcuffed andheld in police buses, while their mobilephones were confiscated.

As soon as the news was circulated, anarchists gathered opposite the policeHQ (GADA), where a solidarity protest ofapproximately 100 people is underway

    (pre-gathering point: outside Ambelokipimetro station).

Heres a text released by the 20 detain-ees themselves:

Anarchists detained en masse aftersolidarity intervention in a

commercial radio station for theRevolutionary Struggle trial inAthens (Greece)

    - Today, January 10th, 2012,comrades from the anarchist/anti-authoritarian space carried out anintervention in the corporate radiostation Flash 96 FM in the contextof a series of solidarity actions forthe Revolutionary Struggle case,

which was brought to trial sinceOctober 5th, 2011, in the specialcourt of Koridallos prisons.

We have taken this action in aneffort to break the wall of silenceand the political order to gag thetrial process and the politicaldiscourse of the defendants in theRevolutionary Struggle case.

A confirmation of this gagging wasthe immediate reaction of police

forces during the broadcast of ouraudio message with the words ofthe prosecuted for the same case. This mobilization of the executiveand law enforcement authorities isindicative for anyone who resists, for whoever puts forward the totaloverthrow of the system throughthe social revolution, which is theonly way to escape from themodern totalitarianism of theTroika of EU, ECB and IMF andtheir trustee, the Greek State, that

have submitted the entire societyin poverty and misery.

A society doomed by the fulldismantling of labour relations, the

chinesization in front of the threat ofmore and more unemployed peoplelining up in long queues, the onslaughtsof predatory taxation, the dissolution ofpublic-benefit corporations, theprivatizations, the selling off of publicassets and the development of financialzones on starvation wages.

It is worth noting that under this treaty,

in their bid to shield the system, andwhile everything is reduced and cut, theonly thing thats increased are thearmies of the watchdogs of democracy, armed guards, capitalism and its State. Therefore, under this treaty, morecommonly referred to as Junta, we are insolidarity and proud with our comradesand their choices.

Our choices are side by side with allparts of society who choose the fair wayof social liberation.

It seems though that all comradesare charged with the misdemeanor ofincitement to violence. Solidarity with Sonja and Christian! After 33 years in French exile, SonjaSuder, 79, and Christian Gauger, 70,were extradited to Germany on Septem-ber 14, 2011. Christian was transportedacross the border in an ambulance!Sonja was jailed in Frankfurt-Preungesheim; Christian in a prisonhospital. Christian, who suffered cardiacarrest in October of 1997 and has sincebeen under constant medical andpersonal care, wasnt released fromdetention until one month after hisextradition; he now is forced to report tothe cops twice per week. Sonja, whocontinues to be detained in

Preungesheim, is likely the oldestwoman in Europe awaiting trial in jail.Prosecutors brought charges in Novem-ber and are planning to bring the casesto trial in 2012.

A Long Tradition of ResistanceAs part of the political left, theRevolutionaere Zellen (RevolutionaryCells, RZ) started tackling the revolu-tionary perspective in the BRD in 1973,striving to identify novel formats ofmilitancy and starting points for resis-

tance. It formed a third urban guerillagroup, next to RAFand Bewegung 2.Juni (2nd June Movement); however,RZ opted against a vanguard position, choosing to act from within the legal leftmovement instead. In the mid-1970s,RZ spawned a feminist organization,Rote Zora. RZ and Rote Zora ceasedaction in the early 1990s.

Sonja and Christian are charged withtwo of roughly a dozen anti-nuclearattacks conducted by RZ. The first, on

August 22, 1977, was directed againstthe German MAN corporation and itsaid in the development of South Africannuclear bombs. MAN was sellingcompressors for an uranium enrichmentplant to the racist Apartheid regime. Thesecond attack, conducted shortlythereafter, was directed against the KSBcorporation, then the worlds leadingmanufacturer of cooling circuit pumpsfor nuclear power plants. Sonja andChristian are also blamed for an RZarson attack against Heidelberg castle

on May 18, 1978. The goal of theattack was to illuminate the contradic-tion between the chic tourist faade ofHeidelberg and the policy of razingentire sectors of town in the interest ofprofiteers.

Fabricated TestimonyRegarding all three charges, theprosecution relies on the so-called

testimony of Hermann F.,testimony fabricated underconditions akin to torture. In thesummer of 1978, an explosivedevice purportedly destined for anRZ action against the consulateof Argentinas military dictatorshipin Munich, had detonated onHermanns knees, causing severeinjuries. He survived, but lost hiseyes, both legs and sufferedsevere burns. Under the influenceof potent pain killers and seda-

tives, he was hospitalized and laterbrought to police barracks, wherehe was held under total isolation.State security officers, prosecu-tors and judges who took copiousnotes were his sole persons ofcontact. Hermann remained in astate of absolute helplessness andreduced perception for 18 weeks.Contacts with friends and atrusted lawyer were prevented andmanipulated. When he finallyescaped isolation, Hermann F.

rejected his purported testimonyas construed and not his own.

33 Years of ExileIn the fall of 1978, one year afterthe German Autumn and in themidst of a state hunt for radicalleftists, Sonja and Christian noticethat they are being followed. Theytravel abroad, to an unknowndestination. It isnt until later thatthey learn of the accusationsraised against them.

In 2000, 22 years after theirdisappearance, Sonja and Chris-tian are arrested in Paris. In themeantime, another charge hasbeen added: After 24 years, government witness Hans JoachimKlein has suddenly claimed toremember that Sonja transportedweapons to Vienna in 1975, for anattack by a Palestinian-Germancommando against the OPEC oilminister conference. (Klein

participated in the attack, butsoon took his distance from it andthem; aided by German Greensand former leftists, and with theknowledge of the German secretservice, he lived in France until

1999. After his politically forcedarrest, followed by copious testimony,he was convicted in 2000 in Frank-furt, but soon released and pardoned.Frankfurt district court rejected Kleinstestimony against Sonja and others asnot credible during his trial in 2000:and yet, his claims are still beingrepeated in the recent warrant andcharges against her.)

Those German accusations notwith-standing, a French court rejected theGerman extradition request in 2000.After posting bail of a few hundredEuros, both were allowed to remain inFrance. But in 2007, prodded by theParis representative of the Germanfederal criminal police BKA, Germanprosecutors took advantage of recentchanges in EU law to submit aEuropean arrest warrant. Though thewarrant contains no new information, simply representing a change informat, the French authorities underSarkozy agreed to it in 2010.

No Deal. No Testimony.Sonja and Christian come from theLeft of the 1960s and 1970s; theywere fighting the systems of prisonand repression back then.Ten years ago, they refused to take adeal offered by the German prosecu-tion, which promised respite fromcustody and parole in exchange for

their voluntary return to Germany anda confession. They have consistentlyrefused to testify. Sonja said, in a2010 interview: If you have agreedbeforehand, should somethinghappen, no word, no testimony, thenyou feel very secure.

Their life demonstrates that it was andremains possible to live without abourgeois career and without adapt-ing to the ruling system. They are1968ers that did not morph into

Greens, opportunists or power-hungrypoliticians. Activists of the Left do notneed to sacrifice their political andpersonal integrity to so-called practi-cal constraints. Sonja and Christiansextradition and trial have been sodoggedly pursued for only one reason:because they refuse to cooperatewith the state security apparatus.

The Real CrimeAll political trials aim at redefininglegitimate resistance as criminal acts.

    The real crime here, however, wasarming a racist regime, not themilitant resistance against it; the realcrime was and is the destruction oflivable and affordable neighborhoods,not the protest against gentrification;

Solidarity with Sonja and Christianof the Revolutionary Cells(Germany)

the real crime was and is the nuclearprogram, not anti-nuclear resistance.

While the BRD government keepssupporting nuclear exports of Germanfirms, and while no corporation hasbeen taken to task for its support ofthe Apartheid regime, Sonja andChristian are to be tried based on acts

against those crimes after threedecades. They werent imprisoned untilEU law had been tightened to thedetriment of refugees and asylumseekers.

Freedom and happiness for Sonjaand Christian!Their steadfast attitude despiteChristians severe illness and despitethree decades of exile deservesrespect and international solidarityfrom all those who have resisted and

are resisting prison, the state securityjustice system, the nuclear mafia, racism and gentrification. It is nocoincidence that, on the occasion ofCastor 2011 in the Wendland, banners and fliers underlined the longtradition of anti-nuclear resistancesince the 1970s and called forsolidarity with Sonja and Christian.Sonja and Christian should receiveinternational support lets make surethat they dont feel extradited!

On Wednesday, January 4th, the anarchistStella Antoniou submits an application forrelease from prison. Her arrest was a result ofthe wider counter-anarchist strategy by theState, which began in 2009 with the aim ofrepressing the anarchist practices of direct actionand the phenomenon of the new urban guerrilla. So, even though StellaAntoniou has no relation with our organization, she is prosecuted forparticipation in the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire since one year.During this period, through her stance and constant militant claims, she

has been standing in solidarity with her fellow inmates defending heranarchist subsistence against the penitentiary system and its staff.

Now she is facing a serious health problem, which is deteriorating due tothe continuing vindictive extension of her pretrial detention by the State.

On our part, as Conspiracy of Cells of Fire we stand next to the anarchistStella Antoniou without begging our enemies for clemency and human-ism, but underlining that the ongoing hostageship endangering her healthwill mark the respective consequences at a completely unexpected time.No defiance by the Power and the judges will go unanswered.Things come around

PS. As minimum sign of solidarity, on Wednesday, January 4th (the datethat Stella Antoniou files her request for release), we abstain from prisonfood.

The following text is in response to asummons received by the imprisonedmembers of the Conspiracy of Cells ofFire, who all refused to show up in court

as directed. The summons was related tothe ongoing investigation into the so-called complete works of the CCF,which seems to be gaining steam.

I am an atheist because I dont believein any god; I am an anarchist because Idont believe in any government; I am acriminal because I dont believe in anylaw; and (I add) I am me because I amnot you or anyone else, and I cannotescape from my self. . . .

Walk slow or fast; but walk. Think quiet or loud; but think. Life is short and whoever doesnt self-determine, neither sows, nor reaps, nor enjoys, nor savors existence. Walk! Think!

Today, January 4, we are being sum-moned to personally appear at theSupreme Court for something related tothe charges being leveled at us.To begin with, all of us who take part inthe Revolutionary Organization -

Conspiracy of Cells of Fire declare thatwe do not simply consider ourselvesprisoners, but prisoners of wara war wehave declared on Power and the State, awar whose objective is to destroy them. The dozens of charges being flung at us,which have to do with our attacks on thesystems structures, constitute clear proofthat we were true to that war. Imprison-ment as well as trials are Powers retalia-tion for our choices.

    We therefore view prosecutors, judges,

and magistrates as playing the role of theenemys courts martial, and as such ourrelationship to them cant be anythingother than that of a state of war. In thiswar, and as long as we remain prisoners,we ourselves will take full advantage of

Athens: CCF communiqu regardingSupreme Court summons (Greece)

picking which battles to fight andwhichby refusing to even showupto ignore. Thus, its best thatthey dont wait in vain for us to

make that contrived January 4appointment, since the only thingwe will be giving them is thepresent communiqu and ourhatred. Thats also why we oncewrote that we prefer to catch ourenemies by surprise at the least-expected moment in order todirectly express our intentionsregarding their justice, just like wedid in the past by blowing up theThessaloniki Courthouse and theAthens Military Court and by

    torching the homes of judges.

In addition, its best that they dontthink the story of the Conspiracyof Cells of Fire is over and hasnow been solely reduced to theact of writing communiqus.

We continue on unapologetically, and if our recent escape attempthad been successful, our persecu-tors could be certain that theterms of our dialogue would be

armed and that we would be quiteprepared to meet them at anappointment of our own making.

We still dont know the meaning ofthe word truce, and were nevergoing to learn it.

We support the internationalcollaboration of action-mindedanarchists known as theInformal Anarchist Federation /International Revolutionary Front.

The continuous attacks carried outby our comrades on a global scaleand the appearance of new FireCells Conspiracies in Mexico andRussia are the best response, aswell as verification that:

    NOTHING IS OVER.

    EVERYTHING CONTINUES.
