Day 1 Home Cities to Munich, GermanyFly overnight from Canada to Munich, Germany.

Day 2 MunichAfter our arrival we will enjoy a city tour of Munich with some free time in the city center for lunch on our own.

Now it is time to check into our hotel and have a rest before our welcome dinner. (D)

Day 3 Munich – Castle ToursExperience a truly royal day! Savour the comfort and pleasure of travelling on our excursion to the fairy-tale castles of Linderhof and Neuschwanstein and to the picturesque village of Oberammergau.

After leaving Munich we will take the Autobahn towards the Bavarian Alps and stop at Linderhof to take you on a guided tour through the palace.

After a drive along Romantic Road, we will reach the foot of the majestic castle of Neuschwanstein. We’ll stop for lunch before hiking up to the castle for a guided tour. (B,L)

Day 4 Munich, Salzburg, Austria and Lake DistrictIn Salzburg, the city of Mozart, there is enough time for shopping and sightseeing on your own in the picturesque old town. Afterwards we drive through the scenic Lake District where the ‘Sound of Music’ movie was

filmed, to the town of St. Wolfgang with the famous White Horse Inn. Then a one-way boat ride on Lake Wolfgang takes us to

our bus waiting for us on the other side of the lake for our drive back to Munich.

Passports are required to enter Austria so remember to bring yours along. (B)

Day 5 Munich to Prague, Czech Republic.Depart Munich for Dachau. Driving through the village of Dachau we reach the former concentration camp. Plenty of time to visit the memorial site, the museum and the documentary film. Visitors are asked to respect the dignity of the site by wearing appropriate attire.

We will stop in Landshut where you will have time to explore the medieval village and enjoy lunch on your own. (B)

Day 6 PragueToday we get to know Prague with a visit to Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and Jewish Town.

Take a journey back in time to Prague Castle, built during the 9th century and known as one of

the largest castles in the world. On the way, you will see such New Town and Old Town Prague attractions as the National Theater, Rudolfinum, Powder Gate, Wenceslas Square and the Dancing House.

At Prague Castle, enjoy a three course meal and drink at Villa Richter, a fabulous restaurant boasting the best view in Prague. After lunch your tour continues to Valdstejn, the most beautiful garden in Prague. You´ll also get the opportunity to explore Lesser Town, Kampa Island and Lennon´s wall.

Your guided tour takes you across the Vltava River on the historic Charles Bridge. Soak in the incredible history and culture of Prague as you enjoy refreshments and travel in style down the Vltava on a river cruise. Walk by Palach´s Square and through Parizska Avenue and Jewish Town.

Continue on to Old Town Square where you’ll see the Town Hall and the Astronomical Clock, both dating back to the 15th century. (B,L)

Day 7 PragueEnjoy a free morning.

After lunch on your own we have a guided tour of the Jewish Quarter including the Old New Synagogue.

The Czech Republic is well know for their beer, this evening you will find out what why as we take a brewery tour of course including a tasting! We will also have a music filled dinner here. (B,D)

Day 8 Prague to Vilshofen, GermanyDepart Prague this morning and stop in Regensburg for a guided walking tour of one of Germany’s best preserved medieval cities, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch on your own, continue on to the charming old town of Vilshofen and board your luxurious ship Amastella.

Later this afternoon, join your fellow passengers at a private “Oktoberfest” celebration in Vilshofen, with traditional beers and Bavarian folk music and dancing. Later, enjoy a festive Welcome Dinner aboard the ship. All meals while on board the ship are included, lunch and dinner also include beer and wine.

Day 9 Vilshofen – Passau, GermanyThis morning you are free to explore Vilshofen’s beautiful old town before cruising to Passau. In the afternoon you will have a walking tour of this 2,000-year-old city, noted for its Gothic and Italian Baroque architecture, cobblestone streets, and St. Stephan’s Cathedral.

Day 10 Linz, AustriaThe ship arrives this morning in Linz.

Enjoy a walking tour of the second largest city in Austria. Later, you will have a choice of three different excursions. The first option is a visit to the Austrian Lake District, the scenic Salzkammergut region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The second option is an excursion to the Czech town of Cesky Krumlov, a wonderfully preserved medieval town nestled in the hills just over the Austrian-Czech border. The third choice is an excursion to Salzburg, Mozart’s birthplace, where you will take a walking tour of the historic center made famous by the “Sound of Music.”

Day 11 Weissenkirchen, AustriaCruise through the Strudengau

and Wachau valleys to Weissenkirchen, gateway to Durnstein. Once here, you can choose to tour Durnstein along its cobblestone streets to the Baroque Stiftskirche, and then visit Melk’s magnificent Benedictine Abbey. Or you can opt to hike up to the fortress where Richard the Lionheart was once held, or bike along the Danube.

Day 12 Vienna, AustriaDuring your morning city tour of Vienna, you will see the famous Opera House, the Ringstrasse, and St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The afternoon is free to stroll through the historic city center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or take an optional excursion to Schonbrunn Palace.

Day 13 Bratislava , SlovakiaEnjoy a scenic morning cruise to Bratislava, where you will have a walking tour that includes the Old Town Hall, Mirbach Palace and St. Martin’s Cathedral. As an alternative, take a “Communist” tour that includes such architectural landmarks as the Radio Building, Liberty Square and Soviet War Memorial. The remainder of the day is free to explore on your own.

Day 14 Budapest, Hungary

This morning, your sightseeing tour takes you to the historic Buda Castle, which offers a splendid view of the river and the twin cities of Buda and Pest. Your tour also features the Fisherman’s Bastion, the Royal Palace, St. Stephen’s Basilica, and Heroes’ Square. After dinner, the ship will sail a special “Illuminations Cruise” past the illuminated river front of Budapest.

Day 15 DISEMBARKATION Budapest to Home Cities.Transfer to airport for flights home or join us on our optional post tour in Budapest.

OPTIONAL POST TOUR - Budapest, Hungary JUNE 2 - 4

Day 1 BudapestSpend an unforgettable day in the Puszta! Visit the city of Kecskemét and view some fine examples of Hungarian Art Nuevo. Enjoy a traditional horse show and take a carriage ride in the Puszta, followed by a tasty three-course lunch accompanied by Hungarian Gipsy music.

An hour’s drive from Budapest takes us to the city of Kecskemét. Walk around the beautiful downtown and visit the city’s most important squares and buildings, such as Main Square with the famous City Hall, Theatre and churches. From Kecskemét, we’ll visit a traditional Hungarian farm. After a greeting by the horsemen, try a glass of Hungary’s famous welcome drink, ‘Barack Pálinka’ (Apricot Schnapps) and taste ’Pogácsa’, a Hungarian salted scone. Afterwards, take a horse-drawn carriage ride through the Puszta.

The day continues with a traditional horse show, which includes several breath-taking field performances. You are then invited for a three-course lunch including delicious Hungarian goulash soup, and accompanied by Hungarian Gipsy music. (B,L)

Day 2 BudapestVisit the illuminated ‘Paris of the East’ and spend a memorable evening in a traditional restaurant! Enjoy a folk dance show, Gipsy music and a delicious meal. After dinner admire the

beautiful city lights from the top of the Gellért Hill.

We serve you a traditional Hungarian three-course meal accompanied by wine. During dinner you will enjoy a colourful Folklore Show Programme with Gipsy Music and dancers dressed in traditional folk costumes.

After dinner we’ll take you for a drive around the illuminated city and stop on top of the Gellért Hill (Citadel) for a spectacular view of Budapest by night. The tour ends at your hotel. (B,D)
