SPIRITUAL REMEMBRANCE TABERNACLE CANDLES JULY 26th
In Memory of William Lynch Donated by Mary Ann & Family
“We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Do you really trust God? Do you really believe that God will provide all that you need? Faith is a challenge for everyone at times. Putting our trust in God, in everything we do, in good times and in bad, means that God’s plan for our lives may be quite different than what we planned. When one door closes, another one opens. Trust in God, His plan is always better.
Sunday July 19 $17,006.50
MEDITATION FOR JULY 26, 2020 The wise seek God. When Solomon asked for an understanding heart to lead his people, he must have known that it was the one gift that opened the door to every other gift. For wisdom (prudence) is the virtue
that guides all other virtues, and grounds judgment. The wise seek God, and those who know him seek to know him more, as Solomon, and the parables, demonstrate.
God tells Solomon to ask for anything, and he asks for an understanding heart to lead his people. Saint Paul writes to the Romans that, all things work for good for those who love God. In the Gospel, Jesus uses three parables [buried treasure, pearl of great price, and a full fish net] to explain the kingdom of heaven.

As of July 16th, the Development Office has received pledges totaling $134,813.38 and payments totaling $123,863.33 from 453 parishioners. This represents 92.3% of our $146,000.00 goal Thank you for your efforts. If you have not made a pledge, there is still time to participate. Mail your gift to: Diocese of Metuchen, Bishops Annual Appeal, PO Box 4000, Metuchen, NJ 08840-4000 or give online at www.diometuchen.org/BAA
Over 50 blood donors came out to support the St. Augustine's Church community blood drive with their lifesaving blood. One unit of blood can help up to 3 different patients so 192 lives will be impacted from this blood drive. The blood supply is at a dangerously low level due to Covid-19 and New Jersey Blood Services is desperately seeking large venues where blood drives can be held while maintaining social distancing. The blood center is unable to run bus drives so it is imperative these sites are found so donors can find a donation location. New Jersey Blood Services (NJBS) reports that last summer over 1500 units of blood was donated on bus mobile drives that cannot run this summer to safely social distance.
If you would like to help save lives by finding a location and assisting in recruiting blood donors please reach out to [email protected]. If you would like to donate blood, sign up through http://tinyurl.com/donatebloodnj
Extra precautions are being taken to help prevent the person-to-person spread of COVID-19. As always, people are not eligible to donate if they're experiencing a cold, sore throat, respiratory infection or flu-like symptoms. Additional information on donor eligibility and COVID-19 precautions is available: http://nybc.org/coronavirus

RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
We need your help!
Pope Francis said that every Christian is an active agent of evangelization. Every Christian who has encountered the love of God in Christ Jesus is a missionary. And if a person has welcomed this love that gives the meaning to his life, he cannot contain the desire to communicate it to others. We have a wonderful RCIA team, ready and willing to share the faith with those who seek a relationship with Jesus in the truth of the Catholic faith. But we need your help in identifying those who are possible candidates. It may be a neighbor, a friend, a family member or even a spouse whom you would recommend to us. RCIA is for those who have never been baptized, for those baptized in another Christian faith who would like to become Catholic or for baptized Catholics who need both First Communion and Confirmation to complete their Sacraments of Initiation. If you have discussed this possibility with anyone or know anyone who may be interested, please call the Parish Office (732-297-3000) and we will contact them immediately. Thank you for your help! Deacon Denis
INTENTIONS OF OUR HOLY FATHER We are invited to unite with our Holy Father, Pope Francis, for this universal intention during the month of July.

THE SACRAMENTAL LIFE OF OUR CHURCH THE SACRAMENT OF THE HOLY EUCHARIST THE HOLY SACRIFICE OF THE MASS Saturday: Vigil - 5:00 PM Sunday Schedule: 8:00AM 10:00AM

COMMUNION TO THE SICK is taken by Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist on a regular basis to those confined to their homes. Please call the Parish Center.
THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM is celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 1:30 PM (not during Lent). A family must be registered in the parish, attend the baptismal preparation class, and cooperate with the regulations established by the parish. Our baptismal class is held on the 2nd Monday of the month at 8:00 PM. Please call the Parish Center to register any time during your pregnancy.
THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION is celebrated on Saturday between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM in the Chapel or by appointment.
THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION is celebrated once a year, here at St. Augustine. A candidate must successfully complete our Religious Education program. Adult Confirmation is held on Pentecost Sunday and any interested adults should contact the Parish Center.
THE SACRAMENT OF THE SICK is administered at home to any Catholic who is seriously ill. Please call the Parish Center. Any parishioner admitted to a local hospital should contact the Catholic Hospital Chaplain through the hospital. A family member should contact the parish when someone is admitted to the hospital. We will gladly pray for any members who are sick, whether at home or in the hospital, at our Sunday Masses; however, it is necessary for the family to “request” it.
THE SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY is celebrated by the Pastor or one of our deacons. Weddings may be scheduled on Friday evening, Saturday, or Sunday afternoon. Only a ceremony is permitted on Sunday. THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY ORDERS and RELIGIOUS LIFE: If you are considering serving God as a priest, deacon, or religious, you may contact your parish priest, deacon, or religious; or phone the Diocesan Office of Vocations at (732) 562-1990.
