Why Eat Breakfast?
It’s often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Eating
breakfast gives your mind and body a jump-start of energy to begin the day.
Studies suggest that children who skip breakfast may have trouble
concentrating or paying attention and may not do as well in school as those
who eat breakfast.
No Time for Breakfast?
Often, children skip breakfast because they are not hungry in the morning or
are busy rushing to get ready for school. Encourage these children to eat school
breakfast or to take along a healthy snack to eat later in the morning, including
a whole grain, fruit or vegetable, and protein source.

All 7th grade students will be participating in a Civics EOC Assessment
in the Spring of 2016. This test measures student achievement of the
Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS), as outlined in the
Civics course description. Students can begin preparing for the Civics
EOC by practicing their skills on the games provided on the
www.iCivics.org website. Please encourage your 7th grade student to
visit this site on a regular basis and play the various games that
review important concepts. If you have any questions about the EOC
please feel free to contact Mrs. Smith, Social studies teacher and
department chair, at [email protected].
