Venture Presentation Materials

I tutor and do art projects with

children in the Rochester City School District,

seeing how talented the children were

and how important it was that they had the opportunity to

create art

I aware that Rochester’s independent

theater showed children’s movie

once a month, but some children

may not be aware of or able to afford

these films

Rochester is a great city with plentiful art resource. After first time ran the project, I saw how important it is to keep track of these resources that could maintain and

develop our organization

“I am a famous artist!”

“I believe the All for Children's Art Program is much needed. In a time of budget cuts in our local schools where the arts are the first to go, it is imperative to continue to foster right brain creativity in our youth. The ability to sell their work and have tangible evidence of their value and impact on t

he community can only reap positive benefits for everyone.” ------Sincerely Catherine Baronie

“Art is such a bridge and the idea of All For Children’s Art uses it to bring diverse groups together. I think that the whole idea would be a conduit to highlight the benefits of pre-art education to the children, including economic, educational, cultural, artistic perspective; and environmental contributions.”

News letter & Thanks letter from Little Theater: Sometimes the best gifts come from the most unexpected places and take you totally by surprise. A few months ago a petitte woman with a huge smile stopped into the business office. She introduced herself as Eva Xie, a student and a member of the Rotaract Club, a local and international service club at the University of Rochester. Eva and her club members had an idea to print children's original artwork on reusable cotton tote bags then sell the bags and donate the profits to The Little Buddies program here at The Little. The club's plan was not fully fleshed-out, but Eva was sure all the details would be worked out before the end of the semister. The group would go to a local city school, gather artwork from students then have it printed on the bags and sell the bags at the U of R and various sites around town. The profits would benefit children by giving them an opportunity to experience the arts beginning with films at The Little. I told Eva how excited we would be to have the club work on this project and offered to help in anyway we could. Eva went back to the U of R, I didn't see her for a couple of weeks, but we exchanged emails.

In the rush of day-to-day business I had almost forgotten the project when Eva popped into the office again. This time she had printed samples of the bags. They were wonderful! Artwork from students at School #14 was collected by the U of R Club, and when they couldn't find a vendor to print the bags at a reasonable price Rotaract members did the printing themselves--100 bags! The group test marketed the product at the U of R and were ready to sell them at The Little.

Rotaract set up a table in our lobby and sold the bags for $7 each. The U of R students sold almost all of the bags in a month's time. Their hard work and generosity will make it possible to make film accessable to more than 100 Rochester children through Little Buddies. Eventually they will expand to other arts orgaizations in town. Every aspect of the project has a focus on teaching children that art is important and a valued part of their total educational experience. We can't t

hank Rotaract enough for this terrific, unexpected gift.

This venture created a path to help children develop their artistic endeavors and emotion quotient. I hope that this idea

will increase the public’s exposure to children’s art, encourage creativity, and make Rochester a brighter city.
