About the Company

Founded by Jean Marie Pizzariella in 2012, Daisy Natural Skin Care offers handcrafted soaps, body butters, and balms. Our products are made from

high quality ingredients that are good for your skin. All Daisy Natural Skin Care products are free of parabens, phthalates & synthetic colors, and are not tested on animals. We also offer vegan

and fragrance free items.


My Story: Owner/Founder Jean Marie Pizzariella

My educational background is in business and accounting, and I held positions as an accountant, a software consultant, and a project manager in my corporate life. But I always searched for an outlet for my creative side, which manifested itself in hobbies such as baking and yarn crafts. A soap making class at a local shop was the catalyst that led to an interest in handmade skin care products. I began making soaps and other skin care products for family and friends, and, based on the positive feedback that I received, decided that this was a business opportunity that I wanted to pursue. Over the past several years, I’ve developed an increasing awareness of the harsh chemicals that are in our skin care and cleaning products. As a result, I was drawn by the ability to know exactly what is in the products that I use. I love the simplicity of the products that I make, and the fact that the ingredients are well known, safe, and effective. I started Daisy Natural Skin Care because I believe that others share my concerns and are looking for products that have easily understandable ingredient lists.

As I delved deeper into the world of handmade skin care products, I became interested in other aspects of the handmade lifestyle, which I write about on my blog at www.daisynatural.com.

Moisturizers

Moisturizers soften the skin and help relieve dry, itchy skin. Some of the key moisturizing ingredients in Daisy Natural Skin Care products are:

Apricot Kernel Oil: light, non-greasy oil that is easily absorbed by the skin; high in Vitamin E and unsaturated fats, which soften and moisturize dry skin.

Avocado Butter/Avocado Oil: contains skin-friendly Vitamins A, D, & E, plus antioxidants, which moisturize and soothe the skin.

Cocoa Butter: derived from the roasted seeds of the cacao tree; softens the skin.

Honey: natural humectant that helps the skin attract and retain moisture.

Mango Butter: extracted from fruit kernels of the mango tree. Contains fatty acids, which moisturize the skin.

Shea Butter: obtained from the nut of the African shea tree; high in fatty acids and antioxidants, which helps moisturize and soothe dry, flaky skin.

Sweet Almond Oil: light oil that is easily absorbed by the skin. Moisturizes without feeling greasy.


Exfoliators & Other Ingredients

Exfoliators are abrasive particles that help remove dry, flaky skin, leaving skin smooth and soft. The following natural exfoliators are used in our Honey Oatmeal and Gardener’s Soaps:

Ground Oatmeal: oatmeal is a mild exfoliator and is great for sensitive skin.

White Pumice: natural exfoliator that is made from volcanic rock. Pumice is very abrasive and is therefore not an appropriate exfoliator for people with sensitive skin.

Cornmeal: natural exfoliator that is made by milling the corn kernel.

Other important ingredients in Daisy Natural Skin Care products include:

Bentonite Clay: natural clay that draws impurities from the skin and absorbs excess oil.

Vitamin E Oil (Tocopherol): natural antioxidant that is derived from the vacuum distillation of edible vegetable oils; also helps extend the life of the butters and oils used in Daisy Natural Skin Care products.

Green Tea Extract: rich in natural antioxidants called catechins.

Daisy Natural Skin Care Whipped Avocado Butter is a light moisturizing butter that leaves your skin feeling soft and not at all greasy. It is made from a combination of avocado butter and apricot kernel oil, both of which have skin softening properties and help soothe dry, itchy skin.

Daisy Natural Skin Care Lip Balm is made from super rich oils and butters (mango butter, cocoa butter, and avocado oil) to keep your lips soft and smooth. It's creamy, glides on easily, and makes your lips a *tiny* bit shiny (if you’re into that sort of thing).

Daisy Natural Skin Care's Gardener’s Soap (a.k.a. Mechanic's Soap) is great for when you’re extra grimy. It has white cornmeal and pumice, which exfoliates your skin and helps get the dirt off. And the lovely green color is due to the addition of bentonite clay, which provides an extra cleansing boost by drawing impurities from the skin. A wonderful gift for someone who likes to play in the mud (or under the hood!)
