Welcome Exhibitors, On behalf of the Dairy Committee of the North Coast National A & I Society, it is my pleasure to invite you to attend the Annual Dairy Spectacular. The Dairy Spectacular will be one of the highlights of the 134th Annual North Coast National – Lismore Show for 2019. This year’s Show will be held at the Lismore Showground from Thursday 17thOctober 2019 through to Saturday 19th October 2018 inclusive. Once again Richmond Dairies are supporting us with a freight subsidy. This is a great initiative and I thank them for that. I also thank my committee for all their support in these very difficult times for not only he diary sector but all show participants. Throughout the Dairy Schedule you will see the great support we have from our many Sponsors. Wherever you can – recognise that support and support them. Without a doubt, the success of the Dairy Spectacular is because of you….and your cows. – Great People and Great Cows make a Great Show. Looking forward to seeing you in October! Pestivirus Information Pestivirus testing is recommended by the NSW ASC. Refer to the Advice Sheet. Pestivirus test kits available from The Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute (EMAI) Virology laboratory. Exhibitors can request a test kit by email, using the address [email protected], or phone 02 4640 6337. Please allow three weeks for test results from when your sample is sent to be tested.
NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT NEGATIVE LAB TEST RESULTS You can now put your entries in online. Head to and go to the Competitions tab, scroll down to Dairy Spectacular, then follow the link at the bottom of the page. This will take you to Showday, where you can add your entries. Please call us if you require any further assistance. You will still need to post, fax or email all appropriate forms i.e. health decs, Public Liability.

The Society is registered for GST and is required to pay GST on all entry fees received.
ABN: 57 094 772 419. A Tax Invoice/ Receipt will be issued to all
exhibitors on request.
Due to a recommendation from the Agricultural Societies Council of NSW Ltd, the North Coast National will be enforcing compulsory negative testing for pestivirus.This means all cattle attending the North Coast National Dairy Spectacular must provide a copy of the negative lab report for each animal entered for competition prior to the entry being accepted.All completed entry forms, health declarations and lab reports must be received prior to the closing date, 4thOctober 2019.No report means your entry will be rejected.No paperwork for pestivirus will be accepted on the grounds at the event. JOHNES DISEASE DECLARATION MUST ACCOMPANY ENTRY FORM OR ENTRY WILL BE REJECTED The Society has adopted new standards for the 2018 NCN Dairy Spectacular, this year 0 or Non-Assessed herds are able to be shown, but will be housed separately to the Cattle rated 7 or above. The National JD Market Assurance Program Declaration must be signed stating your herds’ current status. No communal watering facilities will be available. All cattle, including calves, are to be tethered at all times. Cattle owners must provide water containers. Dairy Cattle with a BJD Assurance Score between 1 - 4 will NOT be permitted onto the grounds. TICK REGULATIONS: Lismore showground is outside the cattle tick protected area. Cattle from Qld will meet their requirements at the border and will be permitted from the point of entry to the showground and return to that point.Cattle from within the CTPA will be treated by tick staff before they cross the line to free area NSW and permit will be marked to cover their return. PRIZEMONEY will be paid directly into your nominated bank account on the official entry form, please ensure all details are correct, the North Coast National A&I Society Inc will not be liable for funds being deposited into an incorrect
account.All prize money will be paid from the week beginning 29th October 2018.Prize money for each class will be made up of cash, vouchers or product to the value nominated. Note:The Society is not responsible for the non-delivery of donated prizes. REGISTRATION OF ANIMALS All cattle entered must be registered in the name of the Exhibitor as owner, in a Herd Book of the respective breed recognised by the Association for that breed in accordance with the Rules of the Herd Book Society provided that an animal shall be deemed to be registered if the Exhibitor furnishes proof that at the time of entry: - (a) | In the case of an animal of sufficient age to be registered, all necessary documents to procure registration in his name have been lodged with the authority controlling the Herd Book and the delay in registration is in no way due to his default:- (b) | All dairy cattle entered in NCN Dairy Spectacular classes must conform to the National showing policy of each individual Breed Society.Any animal not meeting Breed Society showing policies will be withdrawn.All Dairy Cattle entries will be submitted to their respective Breed Societies for approval against their Registration database. MEMBERSHIP of the Society is invited - Member Subscription $65 including GST allows Member, Guest and Members (3) children under 18 years, plus car access to all three days of the Exhibition.

SPECIAL REGULATIONS 1. Pestivirus -All cattle must be tested negative for pestivirus and a copy of the lab report for each animal entered must be submitted with the entry forms. 2. Johnes Disease Regulations - NSW Exhibitors - A Dairy BJD assurance/score declaration must accompany entries. Cattle from a 0 Non - Assessed status will be house together. Cattle from a herd scores of 7 and above will be housed together. Qld Exhibitors - BJD Declaration must be completed and returned with entries. All Exhibitors are especially reminded to ensure their exhibits do not trespass on areas set aside for a higher status than their own. 3.NLIS Regulations.For compliance with the NLIS all animals must carry a NLIS device.The NCN Dairy Committee will notify the database of all movements of stock to Lismore Showgrounds and consequent return to their original holding. 4.QLD/NSW Border Crossing.Exhibitors from QLD are advised to contact their local Stock Inspector to clarify the current requirements needed.To make the necessary arrangements for border crossings (bookings are essential) contact the Kirra Spray facility (Tweed Heads) on ph: 07 5536 4714 or Aratula facility ph:0427 133 388.Crossings are to be made in daylight hours.Qld exhibitors will need to make the necessary arrangements for their return entry into Qld at the border crossing on their forward journey.The cost of spraying etc, is to be borne by the Exhibitor. 5.NSW Cattle Tick Requirements.Cattle from a quarantined property will be required to be treated as per quarantine regulations as notified by their local stock inspector.Verifications of treatments will need to be made available. 6.Fodder Regulations.Conditions are applicable to hay being introduced into NSW. A person shall not introduce or cause or permit to introduce hay into NSW unless: * the hay is presented in daylight hours to a border crossing;
* hay from a tick free area is accompanied by a declaration from the owner and certification by an Inspector of Stock from the locality in which the hay is grown in. * hay from a Tick Quarantine area, a tick infested area, a tick protected area or a special area, must be accompanied by a merchant and/or grower declaration to the effect that hay or fodder has not had contact with livestock within the nine months prior to the presentation to the crossing point for introduction into NSW. 7.Water Regulations. Exhibitors must bring their own watering and feed troughs.There will be no communal watering. 8. Public Liability.Exhibitors, Handlers and Competitors must cover themselves for public risk.Currency Certificate of your Public Liability Policy is required with entry form.A minimum of $10 million is now required. 9. Security/WH&S Protocol.Exhibitors are advised not to trespass outside the North Coast National Dairy Spectacular designated area after hours due to security protocol concerns. 10. No glass allowed on Showgrounds. 11.All cattle must be on the grounds by 8am on day of showing. 12.Proof of Registration.Exhibitors will be required to provide/show Proof of Registration for all animals competing in this show to determine classification. * The definition of a heifer is a female under 3 not ever having had a calf * Holstein exhibitors must supply registration of animals, if not, the animal is ineligible to be shown(as per Holstein Australia rules) 13. Age Classification– Age of entry to be at 1st June 2019.The table following is an explanatory statement in relation to birth dates relevant to classes in which the eligibility of an exhibit is restricted by the fact of its age.

All exhibits must be the Bonafide property of the exhibitor except where otherwise stated.All exhibits from a partnership must be the Bonafide property of the firm exhibiting same, and no animal owned by an individual member of the firm will be eligible for a prize unless exhibited in his or her own name.
15.Only cattle that are tractable are eligible to enter.Exhibitors must ensure that their handlers and parader’s are competent to control their exhibit and must be suitably attired, including covered footwear, whilst presenting their exhibit for judging and always throughout the duration of the Show. 16.Entrants must bring their own portable milk machine, however a vat will be available for disposal of milk 17. Place Ribbons and prize money will be awarded in each class as per schedule. * All first & second prize winners of the breed shall compete for Champion * Highest Fat plus Protein will be awarded a ribbon.The winners must be placed amongst the first six place getters to be eligible.Lactation to be completed between 1stSeptember 2018and 31 August 2019, for a period of not more than 305 days.A minimum of six (6) monthly tests are required.Proof of production must accompany entries ie. Lactation Certificate/Statement.
18.Interbreed Competition - * Failure to have exhibits available to show or parade in the Interbreed Competition will result in the forfeiture of ALL prize monies.However, in the case of a qualifying animal being unable to compete, this is to be referred to the Chief Cattle Steward for determination. 19.All prize money advertised in the 2019 Schedule will be paid out in cash, voucher or product form. 20. Exhibitors vehicles are not to be parked on the grounds between 8am and 9pm. Parking is available at the top end of Alexandra Parade.

YOUTH PROGRAMME FRIDAY 18th OCTOBER

11am:Assemble at Judging rings (this will be at the completion of heifer classes) Competitors must have
already registered at the Stewards Office.
Short talk on Judging Techniques/Anatomy of a Cow plus a careers address on Youth Involvement in the Dairy Industry.
This will be followed by Junior Judging then Junior Paraders. RULES & REGULATIONS
Age of competitors is to be taken as at 1st May 2020 In Paraders competition, paraders may use their own or borrowed show animals providing all animals paraded are exhibited in general classes. Competitors will be required to assess two groups of four cows/heifers.There will be approximately six finalists in each division of the competition.Finalists will be required to judge a further group of four cows and make an oral presentation of reasons for their placings. There will be no contact of any kind by any competitor with any person who is a spectator or competitor at the Youth Programme from the beginning of the competition until results are announced.Any such contact will result in disqualification. Suitable attire must be worn, including covered shoes, either breed or school uniform. Mobile phones are to be turned off while in the judging ring. First & second placegetters in Class 2001 are eligible to compete in the State Final at the
Royal Easter Show provided they reside within the boundaries of Group One and are aged over 15 and under 25 years on 1st May 2020.Please contact the North Coast National
