Each box of Daily Practice Centers includes 36 activity folders for practicing essential skills. The centers’ activities target the 36 skill areas presented in the corresponding Daily Practice Book and are consistent with grade-level state curriculum standards.
Each center can be used as:
• a teaching device to introduce the skill,
• an assigned or free-choice practice activity to reinforce the skill, and
• an assessment tool to determine students’ mastery of the Daily Practice Book skills.
The centers are arranged in order of difficulty within each skill category. Multiple centers, representing increasing levels of difficulty, are included for several essential skills. To ensure maximum benefit to your students, preview the centers and assign them according to each student’s skill level.
The CentersEach center is self-contained in its own sturdy folder. The outside is a colorful game board. The inside provides directions and has pockets to hold playing pieces and response forms.
• Playing PiecesAfter punching out the playing pieces, put them in an envelope or a plastic bag and store them in the left-hand pocket of the folder.
• Response FormStore extra copies of the student response form in the folder’s right-hand pocket to allow for repeated skill practice.
• Answer KeyThe full-color answer key can be kept with the folder or held separately.
