DAILY EXCELSIOR, JAMMU WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2017 (PAGE 17) Ghagwal police rescues 14 bovine animals Excelsior Correspondent SAMBA, Dec 19: A police party of Police Station Ghagwal led by S I Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Ghagwal under close supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy SP Headquarters, Samba during vehicle checking at Naka Tapyal rescued 14 bovine ani- mals which were laden in two vehicles bearing registration number JK02AC-2576 & JK08C-6513 which were com- ing from Kathua side. As per reports the drivers of two vehicles after seeing the police accelerated the speed of the vehicles and tried to flee but police chased them and the drivers seeing no alternative abandoned the vehicles at Chadwal and fled. During the checking of vehi- cles police found 14 bovines were laden in them and they were being transported illegally. The police seized both the vehicles and bovine animals. It also registered a case FIR No 106 of 2017 U/S 188 RPC, 23 PCA Act, 179/183/184 MV Act was registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation taken up. The drive against the bovine smuggling was launched under the directives of SSP Samba, Anil Magotra. Tour of Doda students to Chennai flagged in Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Dec 19: A nine- day capacity building tour of students from Doda district to Officers Training Academy, Chennai (OTA) was flagged in at Dharmund today. The tour comprised of 34 students and four teachers from far flung villages of Doda dis- trict. The tour gave these students an exposure to meticulous and illustrious military life and has encouraged students to imbibe best of the virtues including dis- cipline, punctuality, integrity and patriotism in their personal life. The tour members also visit- ed Raj Bhawan and got an opportunity to have an audience with the Governor of Tamil Nadu. Students were also taken for sight-seeing of Chennai City and the famous Marina Beach to witness the cultural heritage of Chennai. During the impressive flag- ging in ceremony at Dharmund, General-Officer-Commanding of the Army interacted with the students and further motivated them to pursue their studies and take up carrier choices in the Indian Army for a bright future. Students from region lack awareness on career in Indian Army as an officer. Keeping this in view a tour was sent to OTA to motivate youth who will fur- ther spread awareness amongst their peer to join the Indian Army. Maha Jayanti of Swami Mirzakak celebrated with religious fervour Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Dec 19: The 273rd Maha Jayanti of Swami Mirzakak popularly known as “Kak Saab” was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety at his Nagrota Asthapan today. A large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu and migrant township of Jagti and Nagrota thronged the Ashram to pay their obeisance to this mystic saint of medieval Kashmir. A Maha Yagya was also solminized in the Asthapan premises for world peace and brotherhood on the occasion and invoking the blessings of the Param Guru by his devotees. The Maha Yagya started yes- terday evening and it concluded with Puranahuti this afternoon which was followed by serving of Prasad to the devotees. The function was organized by Swami Mirzakak Trust Hangalgund, Kokernag (Kmr) under the presidentship of Bushan Lal Hangloo. Earlier a pooja -archana was held at the Asthapan that is the replica of original Samadhi of Swami Ji which is situated at Hangalgund. The religious scholars gave discourses on teachings of Swami Ji who has performed many prophecies dur- ing his life time and also had spelled a doom for the tyrant Afghan rules who had to quit Kashmir and this is reflected in his Waakhs also. They said Swami Ji contin- ued the Waakh Parampara in Kashmir which had their origin in Shaiva philosophy. He was a great mystic saint who lived a simple life and devoted himself for the benefit of humanity and sufferers. Distt administration removes encroachments Excelsior Correspondent KATHUA, Dec 19: The Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rohit Khajuria issued direc- tives of launching anti encroachment drive in front of DC office, Kathua to remove the temporary encroachment made on the foot path. The vehicles parked on No Parking Zone were also removed from the foot path and the road. The Deputy Commissioner, personally mon- itored the anti encroachment drive and ADC, ACR, Tehsildar and SHO Kathua along with police team and Traffic Police started the anti encroachment on DC office road . The Traffic Police was asked not to allow any person to park their vehi- cles on the road. The DC Kathua said that an order in this connection already issued not to park the vehicle at no parking zone, otherwise legal action may be taken against the offenders. He said the parking points also identi- fied at College road for parking of the vehicles. The Municipal Council Kathua also removed the illegal encroachment made on footpath at Patel Nagar area and demol- ished the construction made on it . It is mentioned here that the DC office road is declared as no parking zone. But the people would like to park their vehi- cles on the road. Even the pas- sengers vehicles stopping in front of DC office cause the traffic jam and hazardous con- dition. The Traffic Police did not bother to takes any action against the offenders. Cop’s parked car catches fire Excelsior Correspondent POONCH, Dec 19: A pri- vate car caught fire in the Mendhar town in district Poonch this afternoon. Official sources said that Indica car bearing registration No. PB08AS/4420, belonging to a Police Constable, Abdul Qadeer, deployed as PSO with local PDP leader Mohd Mahroof, was parked on the road side at Hakim Morh in Mendhar town. It suddenly caught fire at around 12.30 pm. The people immediately removed the adjoining vehicles immediately, parked near by the burning car and started pouring water but the fire could not be controlled. The Fire tender arrived there after some time but the vehicle had already been damaged badly in the fire. The owner has claimed some sabotage as the car was parked and not moving at that time. The police has reg- istered a case in this connection. Babu Ram Bhagat who has been nominated as district president of BJP S C Morcha district Jammu (Rural) in the State B J P Working Committee meeting at Bishnah. As per police sources, two women were injured, when the Alto car bearing registration number JK02AS-3070 they were travelling in collided with a mini-bus JK06-0526 coming from opposite direction at Hasti area on Kishtwar-Doda-Batote highway. The injured identified as Pushpa Bhandari (50), wife of late Kishori Lal and Sonam Bhandari (24), wife of Sunny Bhandari, both residents of dis- trict Kishtwar were rushed to District Hospital, where their condition was stated to be sta- ble, when last reports came in. A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Kishtwar Police Station and investigation started.
