Environment: Efforts to Reduce Environmental Impact

■ Reduce input water by apply recycle water system

We continuously strove to reduce input water resource and therefore our impact on the environment by adeptation 3R Concept "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" for analysis and creating the new idea. So, we installed the Ultrafiltration system for wastewater recycling for supply to flush system of toilet. The result was annual water savings about 45,000 m3/year and then can reduce the input water around 20% per year.

■ Solar roof phase 2 reduces electricity consumption (Continue project)

In fiscal 2019, we continuous project of solar roof which completed installation of a 453 kW on warehouse product. The result in electricity savings of 721,626 kWh/year (CO2 emission reductions of 440 tons/year)

■ Utilizing rain water

We strive to reduce water consumption and therefore our impact on the environment with a roof-top system that we installed to collect and store rain water. Customers Satisfaction: Efforts to Improve Product Quality

■ Educating suppliers to improve quality of parts

Through training, We need to enhance local supplier level to be improve for quality awareness, product-process technical including problem analysis skill. So, we have to arrange training couse to bush up our local supplier competence and knowledge. Too many kinds of training couses we implemented include whole supplier training (About 170 companies), individual supplier training, and on-the-job training. Training takes place at both the DIT factory and suppliersʼ factories that we have to performed :

Training takes the following form:

Training period: 6 months per session (50 companies per class)

Trainers: QC engineers, supervisors, and managers

Training content: Quality performance evaluation methods Investigation of problems and analysis of root causes Monthly quality meetings to eliminate in-line defects Defining the inspection process by applying the QFD (Quality Function Deployment)

concept Process evaluation through the “pokayoke” (error-proofing) concept Quality control methods for second-tier suppliers Layered process audit

To following training performance, we visit a target group of suppliers by monthly basic to evaluate our local suppliers, at which time each trainer checks the actual processes for quality improvement. We provide ongoing advice and suggestions for suppliers to continue improving through the PDCA cycle as of QIP activities. Moreover, we share corrective action for quality issues from past experience horizontally across our entire supplier network in order to prevent future problems.

We have to be ensure that our training effectiveness able to be enhance our local suppliers to provide us with the highest quality parts that we can see the output as supplier risk evaluation that we can redure high risk supplier as significant. ■ Speeding up identification of problems on the market by collaborating with the Service Division.

To improve our products, our customers provide us with quality information from the market. These are some of our continue activities:

1) Videoconference and face to face meetings are held with the service division of affiliates to learn about major quality issues and deal with them as soon as possible.

2) We quickly deal with customer complaints and solve problems by using information from the Global Information Bank (GIB).

3) We collect the defective parts on the market to investigate, find the root cause, and take countermeasures.

4) We provide feedback to everyone concerned (groups such as R&D, purchase, production, logistics, and engineers) so that they can improve their processes.

5) We strive for customer satisfaction by applying countermeasures we have come up with to mass production, and we expand measures to the development of the next generation of products.

■ Product development our flexibility system to certify the customer

We have developed proprietary models to meet the operating conditions found in ASEAN countries (installation in humid/coastal areas, operation throughout the year). The resistance to salt damage is four times that of current Anti-Corrosion models.

1) Outer casing Multi coating for extreme durability The hot-dip Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium alloy coated sheet is optimized for even greater durability with an additional four-layer coating combination.

2) Heat exchanger (Fin) Anti-corrosion technology The aluminum ns on VRV A MAX are manufactured with thicker anti-corrosion layer including an additional two-layer coating.

3) Extra value added Automated fin coating line To prevent differences in coating thickness caused by manual application, the additional n coatings are performed on the latest automated assembly line, maintaining high precision and quality.

Communities: Environmental Protection Activities

■ 12th forest activity held

On June 8, 2019, we held our 12th tree-planting activity at Pa-Klong-ta-kien National Forest Moo 6, Amphur Bo-thong, Chonburi. About 500 people, including DIT employees and family members, and local students and residents, planted 3,500 trees. The 12 editions of this activity have resulted in the planting of 19,322 trees and a raised awareness of the importance of forests.

■ Coral Planting

On Dec. 21, 2019, we held the 1st time event of coral planting activity for increasing the employee awareness in order to conserve the environment and save the ocean. The employees & family are about 93 members to join the activity as learning on how to grow and survive the coral reef at Plutaluang Wittaya School, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi, as well as planting the small coral reef on plastic water pipe and move them to the sea by experienced diver. After that, they join skin diving and see coral reefs ecosystem by taking care with Plutaluang schoolʼs student staff.

■ Beach clean-up

On February 1, 2020, we held our 10th litter pick-up event at Bangsaen beach. Our employees clean up this beach every year in collaboration with government agencies. The activity not only keeps the beach clean but also encourages tourists and others to preserve the natural heritage and sustain the environment.

■ Fixing school building and providing educational equipment

The Daikin Group in Thailand (6D: DIT, SDS, DCI, DAT, DTL, DCSA) supported a rural school in Nakhonratchasima province in November 2019 by reinforcing the schoolʼs structural integrity and providing educational equipment that will benefit students and teachers.

Our company supported education at 3 school in Chonburi

■ Air conditioner donation to technical college

Our company supported education at five technical colleges in Chonburi as well as four technical colleges in Chachoengsao by donating air conditioners to them in September 2019. The goal of this project is to provide opportunities for basic air conditioner training. In addition, the DIT Training Center in Chonburi & Chachoengsao hosts air conditioner installation workshops for instructors and students of the colleges.

Communities: Other Regional Activities

■ Blood donor clinics

Twice a year (April and October), we cooperate with the Thai Red Cross to hold blood donor clinics. In 2019, our employees donated about 420 units of blood.

■ Daikin Charity Running 2019

On September 8, 2019, a total of 2,500 runners, including management and employees from the Daikin Group in Thailand (6D), Suppliers and local residents, took part in Daikin Charity Running 2019. The money raised by participants running in races of 4 and 10 kilometers̶a total of 949,000 THB was donated by installation 24-sets of air-conditioner on new 5-storey-building as supported building as well as medical equipments to the Chonburi Cancer Hospital.
