Your assignment:
Create a parody of a famous painting!
![Page 28: DADAISM](https://reader035.fdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062520/568161e6550346895dd20c29/html5/thumbnails/28.jpg)
Step ONE
• Find a picture of your original famous painting.• Read a little about the artist’s technique in
painting.• If you want to see examples of art parody, you
can google either art parody or art spoof.
![Page 29: DADAISM](https://reader035.fdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062520/568161e6550346895dd20c29/html5/thumbnails/29.jpg)
Step TWO
• Make associations, to find ideas that interest you, like:– Pop culture– Your interests– Your pets– Your family– Your town
![Page 30: DADAISM](https://reader035.fdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062520/568161e6550346895dd20c29/html5/thumbnails/30.jpg)
You have options to consider:
Will you just change the “character” in the painting?
Will you just change the background?
![Page 31: DADAISM](https://reader035.fdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062520/568161e6550346895dd20c29/html5/thumbnails/31.jpg)
Step THREE
• Show a picture of the original painting you choose to Mrs. Yuzik
* You can sign out a library book, or if you can print in colour at home, you can bring a picture TOMORROW from home.
• Make a sketch first• Paint until complete
![Page 32: DADAISM](https://reader035.fdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062520/568161e6550346895dd20c29/html5/thumbnails/32.jpg)
Artists to Parody:
• Grant Wood – American Gothic• Leonardo da Vinci – the Mona Lisa• Edvard Munch – the Scream• Van Gogh – Bedroom, Café• Or other famous paintings by these artists• Or other famous paintings by Henri Matisse,
Pablo Picasso, or others
![Page 33: DADAISM](https://reader035.fdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062520/568161e6550346895dd20c29/html5/thumbnails/33.jpg)
Painting must be famous in a sense that it is recognizable to people who know a little something about art.
