work, with 68.5% reported that the webinar added knowledge on this topic. • Change to practice: Being aware of appropriate apps and troubleshooting with clients.

Using this technology with clients to assist with better management and outcomes. Increased confidence in monitoring and to try online monitoring.

KPI achieved to explore scope for next step. Advocacy required to advance further • Work has continued liaising with EDIG Leadership Team and DAA staff about ongoing

promotion and support of supervision for members across the DAA membership. • Supervision Scoping Survey results were published in Weekly Member Newsletter in April

2019. • DAA website improvements have been limited to listing current Supervision resources on

DINER, independent of EDIG webpage. Completed April 2019. The proposed ‘Supervision Hub’ is on hold due to website issues with no timeline for revisiting this development for the broader membership

Laura Kiely (formerly Bariatric IG Leadership Team member) and Tara MacGregor (EDIG Leadership Team member) have regularly communicated with DAA regarding transitioning the ‘Supervision Project’ work to executive and staff within DAA. This process is currently being overseen by CEO Robert Hunt as determined at a teleconference on 8/5/19. Outcomes are yet to be feedback to TM & LK.

KPI Achieved EDIG members were surveyed prior to roll out of communication strategies to understand the

needs of the interest group. Based off these findings:

• A regular weekly time slot titled “Word on Wednesday or WoW” was set up to encourage members to log-on on a Wednesday and share resources.

• The EDIG Leadership team increased their participation in discussions, posting at minimum 3-4 times per month.

• A monthly guest clinician was invited to share their expertise with the interest group for the months of April, May and June in 2019, and this strategy continues.

• Resources and training opportunities are shared regularly. A follow up survey is now in development to gauge the impact of these strategies"

IG Conference Prize Recipient Name: Kylie Matthews, Shane Jeffreys, Sandra Capra, Jan Hill, Amanda Davis and Michelle Palmer for oral, “Medically Compromised, extremely underweight adult patients with eating disorders can be safely refed using a higher energy feeding protocol”. Name of Conference: Australian New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders (note: agreed that future recipients would be limited to one main author who also presents)

Other activities: Fast Track Trial: The EDIG bought to the attention of the DAA Executive, concern from Leadership Team and members of EDIG regarding the potential risks of the Fast Track research trial being undertaken by the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (The Children’s Hospital at Westmead) and Monash Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, in the area of eating disorders. This is an ongoing issue that will continue to be an advocacy area.

Newsletter The Eating Disorders Interest Group have published two newsletters per annum since its inception in 2014. One newsletter is published in April/ May and the second in October/ November. Distribution is via Members Connect and DAA Weekly newsletters. Newsletter content is varied and includes: upcoming professional development opportunities; topical journal articles; editorials by individuals with a lived experience of an eating disorder; information on motivational interviewing; information on “starting out in eating disorders as a dietitian”; information on DAA ED website resources; reports by dietitians in regards to their professional journey; reports by our ancillary organisation, Australia and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders (ANZAED); workshop and conference updates and much more. Newsletter convenors are: Mellisa Ashley (since November 2016) and Jessica Tilbrook (since beginning 2019).
