DescriptionElevated sprocket tractors used for dozing, pushing, ripping or with winch. Also used with special guardsand equipment for work in waste disposal. Tractor isstandard with power shift transmission and steeringclutches.
Serial Number Range53Y, 7YB, 7JC4FB: Direct Drive, Special Application
Lubrication RecommendationsFor complete information concerning lubricationrecommendations, refer to Caterpillar MachineLubricant Recommendations. Form SEBU6250.
Oil Sampling ProceduresThese machines were not initially equipped with oilsampling valves. If sampling valves are desired, please refer to Special Instruction SEHS9043.
Filter InspectionRecommend that filters be saved for inspection.Plastic bags are convenient for retaining the filtersuntil they can be cut open for inspection. The4C5084 Filter Cutting Tool is available for thispurpose. Be alert for visible pieces of syntheticfriction material or metal which may indicate aproblem.

NOTICESpecific information supplied by this documentconcerning the machine/compartment and wear limitscontained in this document are intended to be usedonly as general guidelines for interpretation.
Model-specific information supplied by this documentis subject to change and may vary on a machine-by-machine basis. Most often, changes to majorcomponents changes are delineated by specific serialnumber breaks and/or prefix changes. Equipmentchanges and updates are frequent; therefore, youmay need to consult current Operations &Maintenance Manuals, Parts Manuals, ServiceManuals or other reference materials for details for aspecific serial number machine.
Wear tables, provided elsewhere by Caterpillar, weredeveloped for average conditions and are intended toreflect expected values at normal oil change periods. They may be too high or too low for some specificmachine applications. Interpretations should bebased on the trend of wear values in eachcompartment whenever possible.
Blank wear tables are provided for entry of eitherCaterpillar or dealer established guidelines. Note thatSodium and Molybdenum are not included in theseblank wear tables because these elements are oftenpresent in oil additives and, therefore, must betrended for meaningful analysis.
