Starting up!
Firstly, I accessed Virtual Desktop via http://lateforlunch.co.uk/curr/

Power!
After I had entered Virtual Desktop, I was presented with a bare base unit and below, a number of computer components. To start my construction, I started by adding the power supply.
![Page 4: D1 Vrtual desktop](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022052315/555ece6fd8b42a74708b5a2d/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
CPU + RAM
After this, I added the basics to my motherboard, the CPU and some RAM.
![Page 5: D1 Vrtual desktop](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022052315/555ece6fd8b42a74708b5a2d/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Fastening the CPU in place
I then fastened the CPU in place for protection and to make sure it is kept in its necessary slot.
![Page 6: D1 Vrtual desktop](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022052315/555ece6fd8b42a74708b5a2d/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Its like glue! (Thermal Compund)
After fastening the CPU into place, I then added some thermal compound to add the next item…

A Sink for my Heat (Heatsink)
The added item was the heat sink for reduce/prevent the chance of overheating from the CPU at work.

The Motherboard
After I had added RAM and CPU (with heatsink) on the motherboard, I had installed it into the base unit.
![Page 9: D1 Vrtual desktop](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022052315/555ece6fd8b42a74708b5a2d/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
Adapter Cards
Once I had installed the motherboard into the base unit, I installed my NIC, Wireless NIC and video adapter card into their corresponding slots on the motherboard.

Internal Drive After the adapter cards were installed on
the motherboard, I installed the internal drive provided (Hard disk drive or HDD) into its corresponding slot on the base unit.
![Page 11: D1 Vrtual desktop](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022052315/555ece6fd8b42a74708b5a2d/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
Drives in External Bays
I then installed the other drives (these ones were external), the Optical Drive and Floppy Disk Drive.

Internal Cables Next step was to work more on the motherboard, in
particular, the cables..
I installed the numerous cables from the power supply unit to the corresponding slots on the motherboard (20-pin ATX Power Cable, 4-pin Auxiliary Power Cable, Molex Power Cable, Berg Power Cable and the SATA Power Cable).
After this, I installed the other cables that were required (3-pin Fan Power Cable, PATA Data Cable, SATA Data Cable and Floppy Data Cable).
