Week 7 | Term 4 28 November 2018 TERM 4 COUNTRY FARMERS DISCO Money raised on the night was $515. Thank you to all the students who attended our school disco in support of our farmers. It was a fantastic night and all the students danced their little hearts out. The students behaviour was excellent. The students will now look at what charity they feel will be best to support the farmers in need. Thank you to all the parents for helping your child to attend this evening. YEAR 6 FAREWELL Week 8 - Thursday 6 December 5.30pm On Thursday 6 December we will be farewelling our graduating Year 6 students with an evening farewell commencing at 5.30pm. There will be photos at 5pm at the showgrounds. All students in Year 5 student have also received an invitation to attend. ALL GUESTS are reminded to RSVP and send in payment to attend this event by next Thursday 29 November Parents of Year 5 students are invited to share the last dance of the night which will be at 8.15pm. All students are to be collected by 8.30pm. On the final day of school, Wednesday 19 December, Year 6 will be invited to ‘ring the bell’ as they depart primary school for the final time. Parents are welcome to attend as the school farewells them. PRESENTATION NIGHT Week 10 - Tuesday 18 December 5.30pm Dungay PS Presentation night will be held at school on Tuesday 18 December, commencing at 5.30pm. This year all parents, students, grandparents and family friends are invited to our school presentation night. We ask families who are attending to bring a yummy picnic dinner and drinks to share with their family just like last year. We also ask families to bring a yummy dessert to share with the school. Please make sure the dessert is simple enough to be eaten without the use of cutlery. Remember the purpose of this night is to celebrate student achievement and student effort. year. It has been another big year where our students and community have shined. Don’t forget to bring chairs, picnic rug, cutlery and plate,

for this special occasion. Please note that this is an alcohol free event.

STUDENT ATTENDENCE

Please make sure when your child has a day off from school or is away partially from school that you write a note with the reason and send it to school as soon as possible. Certain parents will receive a letter home or phone call asking to explain their child’s absence. Thank you to those parents who bring leave notes in or use School Stream as a way of letting us know the reason for your child’s absence. If you use School Stream please make sure it is updated. You may find you need to delete the app then upload it again.

STUDENT REPORT PORTFOLIOS Students will receive their end of year reports in week 10. Please ensure they have brought in their portfolio folders for the reports to be placed

in. If you have any questions regarding your child please see their classroom teacher.

UNE DISCOVERY VOYAGER VISIT Week 9 - Thursday 13 December

The Discovery Voyager is UNE’s Science outreach and engagement program, delivering interactive, curriculum-aligned activities in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Maths) to schools in northern NSW. Last year at Dungay we had the team visit our school and

teach students how much fun you can have with science. This is a free science program for our students.

WATER FUN DAY / SAUSAGE SIZZLE / RINGING OF THE BELL Week 10 - Wednesday 19 December (Last Day of School)

On the last day of school all our students will be invited to take part in a fun water day. There will be a free sausage sizzle and drinks for all our students. At the end of the day we ask all parents of Year 6 students to attend to watch their child take part in the ringing of the bell. More information will be provided closer to the date. Playgroup children have the opportunity to have some festive photos taken on Tuesday 4 and Tuesday 11 December

by one of our talented mums, Amanda Burns.

Amanda is also offering family photo sessions on Saturday 8 December (weather permitting) at Pine Tree park,

Dulguigan Road, near the Urliup Road turnoff. If you would like to book a Saturday session please contact Amanda on

0431 513 150. Each family is asked to take along a usb for photos to be loaded on to.

Each session should take between 20-30 minutes and costs just $15.

KINDY ORIENTATION

Our final kindergarten orientation was held last Tuesday. The children had become very familiar with the school, were settled in class and

becoming aware of routines. We are excited to begin our learning journey with them. Welcome to the Dungay family!
