Lighting Our World supports local ministries such as the Food Pantry and the Ohio County Baptist Association. It reaches across our state to Sunrise Children’s Services, Oneida Baptist Institute, and a multitude of other Kentucky ministries. It impacts America by supporting church planting efforts through the Annie Armstrong offering, and it touches the world through Missions of Love, World Hunger Relief, and the Lottie Moon Offering which goes directly and completely to support international mission efforts. Prayerfully consider how you can honor Jesus on His birthday by giving to this offering!

We are updating the names and mailing addresses of students currently enrolled in college—please call the church office at 274-7174, M-F, from 8a to 4p with information about students in our church family.
We would like to thank our church family for the prayers that have been said and the concern shown for our daughter-in-law’s mother, Sandy Baughn-Bryant. With God’s help, Sandy is making great strides in her
recovery and hopes to be home from the rehab hospital before Christmas. Continued prayers for her and her family are so appreciated.
Sincerely, Joe & Brenda Newcom
THANKS SO MUCH for the delicious food, brought to me from the church by Justin & Whitney Keown during the Thanksgiving Holidays. I
also want to thank everyone for the many Beautiful Christmas Greetings that Wayne Bullock brought from some church members. Wishing
everyone a Blessed and Peaceful Christmas! Sincerely, Eloise Stenberg
Thank you for all the lovely Christmas cards — some with special messages. Also, thanks to our wonderful deacons for their dedication
and special attention. God Bless You. Ella V. Bailey
A special thanks to my church family for your love and support during my recent surgeries. Your prayers are appreciated as I continue on this
journey. Love you and God Bless. Jerry Killough
Dear friends . . . I had absolutely no idea what was going on at the end of our presentation of “Name Above All Names” when Tony invited Terri Minton (chair of our per-sonnel committee) to the microphone. I certainly did not anticipate that it had anything to do with me (I was trying to remember whose work anniversary it might be) so I was completely taken aback by the kind words from Terri and the warm affirmation from all of you who were present. After the service, as I sat in my office and opened the envelope which Terri presented, I was overwhelmed, surprised, and blown away by the exceedingly generous gift of travel for Jerre and me. (How you managed to accomplish this while I was completely unaware is a tribute to the crafty and deceptive staff with whom I serve). On the one hand, I wish I had known the enormity of the gift when it was presented so I could have better responded to your kindness; on the other hand, at that moment I don’t believe I could have formulated the right words to thank you for what I consider an undeserved, but deeply appreciated, gift from you. So please accept this delayed response of gratitude—not only for such a wonderful tangible expression of love, but even more for the many ways you continue to love and support my family and me as we serve and worship together. The servant attitudes and willing spirits you bring to our work together are such a reflection of the Savior’s heart, and a source of continuing joy and encouragement to me.
Thank you . . . John
NEW OFFICE HOURS: Beginning in January, our church office will be closed on Friday at 12 noon.
OFFICE STAFF TRANSITONS . . . Sue Vincent has served as our administrative assistant for eight years, and has decided to retire at the end of this year (among other reasons,
to have more time to visit grandkids!) We appreciate Sue’s service, her willingness to do often tedious and laborious tasks beyond the job
description, her gentle spirit, and her friendly voice on the phone. Thank you, Sue, and enjoy those boys and that new little girl!
We welcome Geleta Armstrong to our Church Staff as
Communications Director/Administrative Assistant. She is a member of McHenry Baptist Church, is married with
two children, and is the daughter of Tressie Brown.
Our children will be attending CentriKid camp at Campbellsville
Universtiy Friday, July 14th - Sunday, July 16th. This camp is available to

We will be returning to Crossings at Cedarmore this year for summer
youth camp. The dates are Monday, June 26th - Friday, June 30th. The total cost for camp is $280. A $75 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is due
by Sunday, February 12th. We WILL NOT be able to add students after
this date. The final payment will be due Wednesday, June 7th. This camp
is open to students who have completed grades 7-12.
Many of you have been asking how you can contribute financially toward our 2017 Haiti mission trip. We are currently seeking 7 “Missions Partners”, one for each of the students committed to going to Haiti over spring break. Each “Missions Partner” will contribute financially by providing a $250 gift as well committing to pray for the individual student before, during, and after
the trip. If you are interested in being a “Missions Partner” please contact Josh. There will be other opportunities to contribute as well so keep on the look out!
Please Note: If you would like to change your picture that is included in our online church directory, please feel free to email a new picture
to us at [email protected]
2017 OFFERING ENVELOPES may be picked up on the tables by the preschool area.
