The Concept Tank Mixing is often required in various formats; from simplest to difficult ones, the requirement may be listed as :

• Keeping contents of a Storage Tank homogeneous.

• Keeping particles in a Storage Tank in Suspension.

• Dispersing a Additive in Liquid in a Tank. • Breaking agglomerates/aggregates and

dispersing particles in a Tank. • Emulsifying one Liquid into another. • Mixing or Dispersion of Gas into Liquid. • Mixing viscous Liquid into another Liquid. • Heating/Cooling a Liquid mass. • Carrying out simple reactions between two

miscible Liquids or Liquids and Solid or Liquid and Gas

• Carrying out complex reaction in a multiphase system with Liquid, Gas and Solid particles (may be a Catalyst).

There are several such applications of Tank Mixing. Again each application, demand certain design depending upon the tank size, Tank Dimension and Overall plant setup.

Tank Mixing Eductors

Mamko offers Mixing Eductors in a wide range of sizes and materials. Custom designs for unique applications are also available. APPLICATION Tank Mixing Eductors are used to agitate or mix Liquids stored in tanks, pits, or sumps. They are Static Mixers that can be used to mix or blend different liquids together in a tank, or blend different liquids together in a tank, or simply maintain a homogeneous mixture in a tank. They can also be used to mix or dissolve powders into liquids or to keep solid particles in suspension. Tank Mixing Eductors can often replace motor-driven mechanical agitators and avoid the maintenance associated with mechanical devices.

The motive fluid can also be air or other gas to aerate or disperse gas into a liquid. When steam is the motive fluid, the TME becomes an effective heater.

OPERATION Liquid discharges from the motive nozzle at a high velocity and entrains the surrounding tank liquid into the suction inlet openings of the TME. The mixed stream passes through the mixing venturi, which provides a pressure to overcome the Static head of liquid in the tank above the TME, and a circulating flow pattern is established.

INSTALLATION Tank feed manifolds can be single long headers, crosses, headers with multilaterals, or hubs with laterals. The manifolds are fitted with strategically placed TME to encourage complete tank coverage. Intersecting flow patterns achieve the best results. Stagnant tank corners can be virtually eliminated with properly directed TME.

MATERIAL OF CONSTRUCTION Our Tank Mixing Eductors consist of a Nozzle and a venturi. They are either cast or fabricated and are available in almost any construction material including Bronze, Cast Iron, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Monel, Hastelloy, Titanium, PVC, Polypropylene, Teflon and Fiberglass. Connections are typically threaded or flanged, but special connections can be supplied if required

.

Jet Mixers In the JET AGE of today, JETS should find their uses in several places and MIXING which is basically outcome of fluid flow is no exception. Wherever possible JET Mixers are utilized in the process industry. JET Mixers are simple and require close to zero maintenance. This JET MIXING SYSTEMS rely on the pumping energy and therefore viscosity of the liquid with respect to the available pressure is the only limitation.

JETS have almost thrown SIDE ENTRY AGITATOR out of use. JET MIXER is design specific. The JET is designed to create appropriate velocities. It is then placed in the tank at a right position and with a correct angle so that appropriate swirl and vortex is created for the bulk mixing. In many situations more than one JETS are required.

JETS with Eductors and with or without Static Mixers have been effectively used in several gas liquid applications. Especially when the viscosities are moderate or low such aerators are useful. They are maintenance free as well.

The Eductor principle, whereby high velocity of one fluid creates suction and attracts the second liquid towards itself to effect micromixing, is combined here with the JET mixing concept ,which is essentially bulk mixing .Thus we have the EDUCTOR JETS.

JETS WITH STATIC MIXER

Where intensive mixing is required STATIC MIXERS are used together with JETS to produce the required effect.

High Shear Mixer Emulsifier (For Emulsions, Slurries and Pastes)

CONCEPT OF HIGH SHEAR MIXING A high shear zone is created in and around the impeller. These impellers are carefully designed to suit the application and the physical proper-ties of the materials. For example, in case of emulsification the liquids are forced through an extensional flow stream followed by a physical shearing. The liquid is mixed in the bulk by the flow field created by the impeller and sheared in the specially created zone. The best results are thus achieved. MAMKO have 39 impeller designs.

MOUNTING High shear mixers are available in all mounting type like those for LIQUID AGITATOR. They are also available in the following arrangements:

Counter Rotating Agitators AXIAL COUNTER MOTION BLENDERS

These Versatile units with counter-rotating efficiency are designed for processing application where a combination of gentle blending and folding is needed along with thorough mixing. Heavy and viscous products are both lifted from the bottom and pulled down from the top at the same time and because of the design, dead zones are eliminated.

A fully enclosed and sealed drive prevents products contamination; bushing is easily removed and cleaned. Provision for heating/cooling jackets, vacuum/pressure capability.

These specialty Agitators are manufactured in several Material of Construction.
