Dear Business Friends,
I am very pleased to have
the opportunity of address-
ing you in connection with
my working visit to the
United States of America, on
which I am accompanied by
a business mission organ-
ized by the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic.
This visit is a confi rmation of our interest in promoting mu-
tual relations in the area of economy and business.
After their very successful expansion to the demanding
market of the European Union, the presence in the United
States market is a very prestigious aim for Czech companies.
This is a market which shares similar values and trends in its
development, making it possible for Czech and American
trade partners to advance their mutual potential.
The high quality and business maturity of Czech companies
refl ect the fact that, in addition to their products and services,
they off er technical and technological collaboration and are
seeking subcontractors and partners for cooperation in their
projects and potential investments in the global market.
Technologies and working methods are continuously and
rapidly developing and improving, and we are keeping pace
with this trend. It is an honour for me to be accompanied on
my visit by some of the most successful visionaries of the
Czech economy, who, through their companies and by their
eff orts, hard work, and personal courage, are contributing
towards increasing the prosperity of our country.
I am confi dent that you will have the opportunity to be-
come acquainted with these companies, and not merely by
reading about them in this catalogue. I trust that we will all
take advantage of our business mission to strike up personal
contacts with the aim of achieving long-term and mutually
benefi cial collaboration.
I wish all of us the best of success in these endeavours.

Dear Ladies
and Gentlemen,
As Ambassador, I am hon-
ored and thrilled to be able
to highlight the importance
of Czech-US economic and
commercial relations and to
further facilitate economic
development and investment between our two allied na-
tions, specifi cally through the business mission led by the
Czech Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr Martin Kuba.
The mission comes on the heels of the second round of
the US-Czech Economic and Commercial Dialogue, which
was established in 2010 in order to focus on our countries‘
commitment to one another to advance and strengthen
commercial and trade ties and deepen the collaboration in
strategic economic areas.
I believe that this business mission will present and ease
such new opportunities for business, trade, research and
innovation, and potential Czech investment in the US. I
hope that the companies on both sides of the table will
take advantage of US trade incentives to create together
new jobs, which are much welcome in these hard econ-
omic times, and in turn foster continuous and robust
Czech-US cooperation into the future.
The Embassy of the Czech Republic and I remain ready to
assist both sides through our dedicated, economic diplo-
matic means.

Dear Friends,
It is an honor for me that the
Confederation of Industry
of the Czech Republic has
been entrusted with the
organisation of the Busi-
ness Mission to accompany
the Minister of Industry and
Trade, Mr Martin Kuba, on his working visit to the United
States of America.
The size of the delegation demonstrates the importance
attached by businessmen across the Czech economic spec-
trum to contacts in the American market. The USA is the thir-
teenth most important trade partner of the Czech Republic
and the export strategy of our government ranks it among
the twelve priority countries to which special attention is
paid in trade cooperation. In my opinion, however, the tre-
mendous potential for collaboration between the USA and
the Czech Republic is still waiting to be fully realized.
The main purpose of this Business Mission is to take advan-
tage of the working visit of this important member of the
Czech Government to support and promote bilateral eco-
nomic relations, to strengthen the already existing part-
nerships and to help establish new ones. I am confi dent
that, in view of the traditionally good relations between
our two countries, which share similar values, the current
visit will help establish long-lasting trade links.
The Czech Republic is a country with a long industrial
tradition, especially in the area of engineering, which has
built its competitiveness on development and innovation.
Czech fi rms export their products to the whole world.
Modern services, including the IT sector, are strongly re-
presented in their portfolio. Therefore, we see the USA not
only as an important export market, but also as a partner
for cooperation in third countries and in the area of foreign
investment.
