Vice President’s and Editor’s Note
Emily’s Eulogy
Hello key clubbers!
My name is Emily and I’m the Vice president for the 2014-15 school
year! I am so excited to announce that there is going to be a lot more
fun events in August before school starts so be on the loo out. I would
like to thank all of the members that have been active this month
whether it was helping out in the car wash or hanging out at the
Menchies social. We really appreciate the fact that summer doesn’t
stop you from helping out the community. Also I want to thank the
members who were a huge help to us by bringing supplies to the car
wash. You guys rock! I can’t wait to see you all again once school
starts.
Yours in Service,
Emily Salgado
Matthew’s Mail Hey y’all!
I hope you guys are having a happy summer! Even though
the new school year is approaching fast, there’s still time
for service! We already had some great events this month
(like the car wash and menchie’s social) and coming up we
have freshmen orientation, fish camp, and a pool party
(date TBA). I hope I get to see all of you guys soon, I know
I’ve had a blast this summer with Key Club so far, and I
can’t wait for it to continue!
Yours in Service,
Matthew Stone

Fish Camp
Come meet the newest
members of the Cy Falls family!
Fish Camp is on August twenty
first from six to eight pm. Run
around with the incoming
freshmen while showing them
the school, building
relationships, and teaching
them that high school isn’t so
scary after all.
FRRESHMAN ORIENTATION
Date:
August
14th
Time:
6-8 pm
Come meet the new freshmen and
tell them how great Key Club is!
Need Volunteers? If you have an event in need of
volunteers that you think Key
Club would be perfect for let us
know! Contact an officer
through email, Facebook, or text
message!
POOL Party = COOL Party You may have been wondering if the rumors were true… and they are! That’s
right, the Cy Falls Key Club is going to be hosting their first ever pool party!
Although the details aren’t set in stone just quite yet, the party will most likely
take place during the weekend in late August at a member’s house.

Water Balloons and Key Club
When in need of a fun, summer, water-loving social, the first thing I think of is a
water balloon! What better way to embrace the heat while having fun!
A water balloon fight social throughout the chapter could be a super fun
experience! The competition in everyone gets to come out and the hot summer
heat is extinguished with a hit from a water balloon! This could be great to get
people involved and to all hang out and get to know each other! Such group
activity would entice a lot of people to come. Members would come and invite
their friends. Besides a way to get to know each other better, it could be another
way to gain members. New Students are always a great addition to our growing
club. Members are always welcome and this is a way to bring them in and show
them what Key Club is all about! What better and fun way to do it!
So in order to execute this, you need someone to be in charge. Someone
who will be responsible and make it happen would be best. Then, that person
needs to pick a location. Maybe a park would be best. There should be an open
field, big enough for playing. The date is next. Pick something maybe close to
the start of school so everyone is in town and more people can attend this
social. Finally, this person needs to advertise. Advertisement is key to a successful
social and the more potential people joining the club. If all these things get
accomplished, I think it could be a real success!
Key Club is more than scheduled events to volunteer at. It’s a family and to
grow that family, we need to spend time with each other and get to know each
other better. Socials are always inviting and full of energy for everyone in the
group.
All in all, I think this is a great idea! The excitement will draw people in and
bring them closer, getting them involved into an amazing high school club at
Cypress Falls High School. They get to know a little bit more about us and join our
aspiration to volunteer. In addition, this event will provide bonding for the current
members to grow our relationships within the club. Great clubs strive from firm
foundations, and that’s what we want to build, a firm starter point that can only
grow stronger from there.
