This research reached to the conclusion that inmost cases risk is managed & handled in house in the local firms. It was observed that

most of the local companies dont keepthemselves up-to-date from the currenttechnology & updates. A large security lapsesare identified in the current systems incorporate side. A lot is to be done to reach

safe & secure cyberspace. The main problemat that organization was the lack ofstructure, structure in terms of securityframework, guidelines, & training plans forthe staff.

BACKGROUND Unfortunately, like all previous inventions of mankind, internet

technology can be used for both good and evil purposes. In the

wrong hands, it will facilitate the commission of all traditional

criminal activities and generate a whole new series of criminal

activities called cyber crime, which the world may be ill

equipped to cope with, if the problem is not squeezed in the

beginning.

WHAT IS CYBER CRIME?

Cyber crime refers to: All the activities done with criminal intent in

cyber space. These could be either the

criminal activities in the conventional sense

or could be activities, newly evolved withthe growth of the new medium.

Any criminal activity that uses a computer

either as an instrumentality, target or a

means for perpetuating further crimes comeswithin the ambit of cyber crime."

Explanation:

Because of the anonymous nature of theinternet, it is possible to engage into a variety ofcriminal activities with impunity and people withintelligence have been grossly misusing thisaspect of the internet to perpetuate criminalactivities in cyber space. The field of cyberspace is just emerging and new forms of criminal

activities in cyberspace are coming to theforefront with the passing of each new day.Cyber criminals are doing every thing fromstealing money, hacking into others computer,stealing intellectual property, spreading virusesand worms to damage computers connected on

the internet and committing frauds.

The damage that cyber crime inflicts is widespread and long-

lasting. It causes financial damages, wide range of business

damages, including: loss of existing customers; difficulties

in acquiring new ones; loss of intellectual property; loss of

R&D data, including product designs and road maps; brand

name and corporate image damage; negative impact oncompetitive position; loss of market share; potential

lawsuits and class actions; non-compliance with rules and

regulations; loss of productivity due to downtime,

investigations, damage control.

CYBERCRIME IN PAKISTAN:

It was taken place in Karachi received by

bank Indiana.

Some cases for hacking of systems were

found in the past. Also piracy is one of the

major crimes happening in the major citiesof Pakistan without any obstructions. Cyber-

stalking, spoofing & spamming Is also taking

place but is going unchecked & are off the

record.
