    Workshop: Ar sts Booksexplora ons in techniqueand concept

    Materials provided. Free to the public. Par cipants will learnsimple forms of book structure, how to incorporate imagery intothe construc on of an ar sts book, and how to create a strongnarra ve using images. Par cipants will experiment with variousways of embedding images into handmade books, includingphoto transfers, hand s tching, and inlay. Those who completethe 2-day workshop will leave with a stronger understanding of the possibili es of photographic narra ve, one hand-made book,and at least one photographic image transfer piece.

    Elizabeth is currently a free lance photographer and an adjunct instructor of art at BoiseState University where she teaches photography courses. The research for her recent work,Blood Lines , encompasses photography, video, mixed media, and sculpture that explore therela onship between medical science and life experience. This work considers how individualinterac ons with medical prac ces and ins tu ons can have a las ng in uence on onesquality of life and how the clinical examina on of in mate physicality can cause one to viewhis or her own body as a foreign or feared object. She has been exhibited both na onally andinterna onally in France, China, Dallas, Philadelphia, Denver and Minneapolis and receivednumerous awards and recogni on.
