Ar#st Analysis
Sean Rodwell
Situated where the Lincolnshire countryside gives way to the sea, Aeriform first opened its doors in 1997.Founded by Sean Rodwell, the studio works extensively in the field of high impact illustra#on
on a range of adver#sing, fashion, music & editorial projects. Constantly evolving through technological and aesthe#c advances, we aim to provide dynamic visuals to our base of high profile clients, old & new. We also love to get involved with smaller independent companies that require a
visual boost.
I chose to look at the work of Sean Rodwell because I wanted to study an Illustrator that works in a modern style. I like the way he uses his imagina#on to create his images, I also like the wide range of colours that he uses, it brings the image to life. The boLom right image has quiet a lot of colour init, but because of the way Sean Rodwell designed this image, it allows the image to be able to use all the colour without making the image look like its over-‐the-‐top. This type of work could really help
me a lot in my project.
Sean Rodwell uses a wide range of different media in his work combining objects, light, people and. He some#me creates images using people and brightens up certain parts of the image. This technique works well in his work. Sean Rodwell puts his work together on the computer.
The use of colour and different elements that Sean Rodwell uses shows that he is a Modern Illustrator; his work helps you see Modern Technology in a different way, which makes you feel
emo#onally touched inside. On my poster that I am going to create I will use Sean Rodwell’s techniques to combine the photos I have taken with the work produced using Photoshop and Illustrator to create effec#ve contemporary
designs.
Patrick Boyer
Patrick Boyer was acknowledged as one of the most influen#al designers by Web Design Magazine, he began his career as a Designer/ Art Director in 1998 through "Urban Cowboy", an interna#onal acclaimed crea#ve design iden#ty. With a strong background in Marke#ng and Communica#on, Patrick has used his dis#nct style and knowledge of the industry to develop a growing reputa#on as "one of the hoLest designers around" (Digital Crea#ve Arts). He has been featured and profiled in numerous press coverage including magazine covers and features on DVDs and books for Illustra#ons, Branding, Art Direc#on, Fashion, Anima#on and Design. Clients: Coke, Coors, Wines of France, DaimlerChrysler, In#missimi,
Ministry of Sound, Mercedes-‐Benz.
I chose to look at Patrick Boyer as one of my graphic designers because I wanted to see an ar#st that uses various objects in a piece of artwork that brings the image to one, and also the same object but in different ways to see different outcomes that I can get. I like the way
that Patrick Boyer uses colour to bring out his artwork.
Patrick Boyer uses a wide range of different media in his work combining objects and humans together. Some#mes he cuts a photograph in half and places a design on top of the photo. So with all this informa#on that I have gathered I am going to try and implement this
into my final model.
