Once upon a time there was a group of little fishwriggling in one of our rivers of Québec.

They were turning around in all directions, but had the desire to grow.

Caught up by fishes that came from elsewhere, they were attracted by the adventure of the CLC

One day, a large fish sparkling with light passedbeside them.

His name Iktus means Jesus Christ son of God savior.

He was going towards the praise, the respectand the service of God.

The small fishes gathered in groups of 6 or 7to benefit from the light emitted at the passage

of Iktus.

They learned how to seize his reflections in theirenvironment, even when they crossed muddy

and aggressive zones.

Then they chose to be guided by him.

They learned how to contemplate him (see, listen...) and to repeat his actions

by practicing each evening the prayer of alliance.

One day, they noted that they all were carriedby a common current following Iktus and

all agreed to say «we want, under the motionof the Spirit, to seek God in everything

and reveal the face of Christ in daily life».

They spoke of a common mission. But each one had to discover how he would

follow him according to his force and his particularvariety while being interdependent of his

companions.

Gradually, by looking at how Iktus took the currentand crossed the swirls,

they learned how to locate the highs and the lows (they were saying consolations

and desolations).

One day, they sent delegates to Naïrobi. There they learned to live in an apostolic body

by practicing a new stroke in four times:To discern, to send, to support and

to evaluate.

Being an apostolic body«sent in the world without being of the world»,

they trained at this new way of swimming together.

They began two kinds of discernment:The discernment of a fish helped by its cummunityand the discernment of a small school of fish aiming

at making a common choice.

Two examples

of discernment.

While advancing towards the St. Lawrence River, the water intermingled and bubbled.

More important, they were not breathing well.

They realized that the water had a problem.Nevertheless, the luminous fish continued on

its way to meet all kinds of fishcoming from the sea.

They decided to gather once more and toreview their life in this new environment.

During a national day, each little school of fish shared with others how they sensed the water.

After getting more information, they became awarethat the fresh water, which made them happy,

was a privilege unknown to many fishes elsewherethat lacked water and were going to die.

What did Iktus think of that?He found that inadmissible.

Then they decided to go up the riverto Chicago and to study the problem.

The story of their course stops here:They are just discovering how to do a

«social analysis» of the situationenlightened by the luminous fish.
