PROFILE
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Derby incredibly eager to find employment within the sector of Information Technology or Visual Design. I am a motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic individual looking to utilise and further my strong communication, artistic and I.T skills. I am due to graduate July 2011. I am available to begin work May 2011.
SKILLS
Communication Skills: Excellent written and spoken communication skills:
o Produced essays and reports to a consistency high standard at University; assignment feedback highlighted my ability to communicate information clearly and concisely.
o Delivered a number of oral presentations at University, and to professionals in the computer games industry, communicating topics in a clear, concise and interesting manner to the audience.
o Participated in a number of group activities alongside fellow students, communicating effectively with team members in order to create work of a high standard, delivering on time.
Artistic Skills: Traditional Art skills:
o Highly skilled in using a variety media, including watercolours, oil pastels, acrylic paint; highly skilled in artistic techniques such as sketching and sculpting.
o Produced a variety of art pieces (landscapes and portraits) ranging in styles (e.g., Impressionism and Cubism) from an early age.
Digital Art skills:o Competent user of graphic applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Maya and Z-brush.
Created three-dimensional models that have been textured and lit into a customised scene.
Created concept art, digitally crafted in Photoshop with the use of the software tools and a graphics tablet.
o Competent user of computer game editing applications such as Unreal Development Kit and Gamebryo game engine software.
I import all of the models that I create in Maya into the Unreal Development Kit, using the engine’s power to light and render the scene under game conditions.
I have also created a futuristic racing game that had to be completed within twelve weeks and to a high standard, alongside other artists and programmers using the Gamebryo game engine software.
Information Technology Skills: Experienced user of both Windows and Mac OS.
o I have built custom computers and am highly knowledgeable about current components and software.
Competent user of key Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access). Experienced user of Game Making coding (GML) and novice user of XNA Game Studio and Microsoft
Visual Studio 2008:o I have programmed my own personal gaming using GML language which borrows aspects of
other programming languages such as C, C++ and Java. o I have taught myself a bit of C# programming using the Microsoft XNA Game Studio 4.0 for
the Xbox 360 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. Knowledgeable user of Web editing applications such as Adobe Dreamweaver.
o I have created my own portfolio website that has been designed using Photoshop and edited on the web via Dreamweaver using html, php and css coding.
